Chapter 410 Powerful Belief

The group walked toward the pickup truck.

The truck bed was covered with a tarp.

Several soldiers got out and pulled back the tarp.

The bed was filled with weapons.

There were handguns, grenades, heavy machine guns, and even some rocket launchers.

Larry looked at the array of weapons and said, "Take whatever feels right."

The others nodded and began grabbing weapons.

Free looked at Larry and said, "This is all we can provide. Be careful. That base has over a hundred Legion of Flame Surge members, and there are mercenaries too."

"Got it." Larry nodded slightly.

Free hesitated for a moment before saying, "The Legion of Flame Surge soldiers are innocent. If possible, don't go too hard on them. They're just following orders and might not even know what the base is researching. They just know it's important."

Larry frowned.

He had been a soldier and knew that a soldier's duty was to follow orders, no matter what.

He didn't want to make things difficult for the Legion of Flame Surge.

But to save someone, conflict was inevitable.

And with conflict, there would be casualties.

He nodded lightly and said, "We'll try. As long as our lives aren't in danger, we'll spare the Legion of Flame Surge."

Larry couldn't guarantee that no one would die.

Free patted Larry on the shoulder and reminded him, "Be careful."

Larry looked at the group, now armed and wearing bulletproof vests, and asked, "Ready?"

Alden and the Eight Heavenly Dragons nodded simultaneously.

"Let's move." Larry turned and got into his car.

The others got into another black car.

The two cars quickly drove off.

Free watched them leave until the cars disappeared from sight. Then he said, "Let's go back."

Research Base.

Scarface had already informed Alistair.

This matter was too significant; Alistair had to handle it personally.

The dungeon of the research base.

The dungeon was dark and damp, and a young woman was locked in an iron cell.

She wore casual clothes, her hair was disheveled, and her forehead was injured, the blood already crusted over.

She sat on the ground, hugging her knees, silent.

The sound of heavy boots echoed on the floor.

In the silent dungeon, the sound was clear.

Trinity looked up.

She saw a middle-aged man, dressed in a white shirt, with a buzz cut and a diamond-shaped face, quite handsome.

"Open it and bring her out."

"Yes." The iron door was opened, and Trinity was brought out.

After being taken out of the cell, Trinity was tied up and then hanged.

She didn't make a sound the entire time.

The man in the white shirt was Alistair.

Alistair sat in a chair, a cigar in his mouth, looking at the suspended Trinity. He said calmly, "If you don't want to be tortured, answer my questions."

Trinity, hanging there, felt miserable.

Alistair asked, "Where did you get the intel? What else does Larry know? What is Larry looking for in the underground caves? What has he been doing lately?"

Alistair fired off several questions.

But Trinity remained silent.

"I'm asking you a question. Speak up."

Alistair's shout echoed like thunder in the dark, silent dungeon.

Trinity struggled to speak, "I... I don't know what you're talking about."

"Whip." A subordinate immediately handed over a whip.

Alistair raised his hand and swung.

The whip struck Trinity, the force tearing her clothes and leaving a bloody mark, blood seeping out instantly.

"Talk!"

"Will you talk?"

Alistair kept whipping.

In no time, Trinity was whipped over a dozen times. Each strike brought searing pain, making her muscles tremble, but she gritted her teeth and didn't make a sound.

She knew she couldn't talk.

If she did, she would betray Larry.

If she did, Larry's plans would be exposed.

If she did, Larry's next moves would be compromised.

Even if it meant death, she couldn't talk.

She was just an ordinary girl, a recent college graduate, full of youthful vigor. Like many girls, she admired heroes. An unexpected event had changed her life.

"I can't talk, even if it kills me."

She told herself.

Her strong belief kept her going.

Even though she was in excruciating pain and bleeding, she bit her lip and didn't say a word.

"Tough, huh?"

Alistair's face darkened. "Put her down."

"Yes." Trinity was lowered.

As soon as she was down, she collapsed on the ground, her wounds rubbing against the floor, causing sharp pain.

No matter how strong she was, she couldn't help but cry out in pain.

Nearby, there was a red-hot branding iron.

Alistair picked it up.

Looking at Trinity on the ground, he asked coldly, "One last chance. Will you talk?"

Trinity bit her lip, but seeing the branding iron, still smoking, made her tremble with fear.

At that moment, fear enveloped her.

She almost gave in.

But her strong belief kept her going.

Alistair walked over with the branding iron.

Even before it touched her, Trinity felt the burning heat.

"Let's see how long you can hold out."

Alistair's face darkened as he pressed the branding iron to her skin.

Sizzle!

Her clothes melted instantly, and the branding iron seared her skin, smoke rising.

A heart-wrenching scream echoed in the dungeon.

Trinity's eyes widened, bloodshot, her face contorted in pain, veins bulging.

She opened her mouth and roared.

"Will you talk?" Alistair's cold voice echoed in her ears.

"What has Larry been doing lately?"

"Kill me, just kill me." Trinity couldn't bear the pain. She just wanted to die, to escape the agony. Only death could free her.

But she couldn't live or die.

Trinity's resilience infuriated Alistair.

He threw down the branding iron, grabbed her hair, and slammed her head into the ground.

"Will you talk? Will you talk?"

Trinity's head was bloodied, and she passed out.

Alistair cursed.

He hadn't expected an ordinary woman to be so tough.

He hadn't expected a woman by Larry's side to be so loyal, enduring such torture without saying a word.

Nearby, Scarface cautiously asked, "Boss, I've confirmed it. Larry sent someone to steal the data. The data is with Larry."

In truth, Scarface hadn't found out who stole the data.

But to save his own life, he blamed Larry.

Bobby added, "Larry's been demoted to a civilian, but Free still sent troops for him. If I didn't have the documents, Free's troops would have stormed in tonight."

Alistair waved his hand, his expression darkening with murderous intent.

Larry was already down, but still causing so much trouble.

Now, he had no more reservations.

Larry had to die.

He said coldly, "If Free found this place, Larry must know this woman is here. Larry will come to save her. Order everyone to be on high alert. If Larry dares to come, he won't leave alive."
