Chapter 154 Heading to Neon City
No woman wanted her husband to be a loser, and Chloe was no exception. She knew Larry was capable, especially in medicine.
Larry's medical skills were definitely better than many doctors on Medical Street in Sunset City. However, he had always been lazy.
Chloe looked at Larry, trying to cheer him on. Her words were tempting and heartwarming, but Larry really didn't want to be too high-profile. He had finally blended into the lower class and was enjoying his current life.
"Honey, how about you go instead?" he said.
Chloe frowned and scolded, "Larry, what do you mean? If you don't want to go, just say so. Why should I go? I don't know anything about medicine. And what did you do today? Why did you attack a celebrity and embarrass us on TV?"
She had wanted to talk to Larry seriously, but seeing that he was unwilling, she got angry and brought up the incident with Xavier.
"Honey, that's not what I meant. I meant I could help you in secret, so you could win the title of the best doctor. Wouldn't that be better? It would also boost the reputation of the Everlasting Group."
"Are you kidding?" Chloe said, "Many people spend their whole lives to be skilled in medicine. How can I do it in just half a month?"
Larry smiled and said, "I believe in you. You can do it. I'll find time to teach you some tricks."
"Forget it, let's just sleep."
Chloe didn't believe that she could become a traditional medicine expert in just half a month and stand out at the medical event. Every doctor on Medical Street had decades of experience. She lay on the bed angrily.
Larry touched his nose. He was serious. As long as Chloe studied hard, winning the title of the best doctor in half a month wouldn't be difficult. He also lay down on the bed.
They didn't speak for the rest of the night.
The next day, Chloe went to the company early.
Larry didn't want to stay at home either, so he found an excuse to go out.
For the next few days, Larry did the same over and over. When Chloe went out, he went out. When Chloe came back, he came back.
Three days passed like this.
On the evening of the third day, during dinner, Maria said, "Chloe, don't go to work tomorrow. It's your grandmother's birthday. Let's go to Neon City."
Because Maria married Scott, who was thought as a loser, she felt embarrassed every time she went home. Coupled with Chloe's situation, Maria was even more mortified.
Now, everything was different. Maria had over ten million dollars in her account, a mansion worth billions of dollars, and 50% of the Lewis family's shares. Chloe was also the chairperson of the Everlasting Group, holding 90% of the shares.
This time, she would be very proud when she went back. Those who looked down on her before would see her in a new light.
"Okay," Chloe nodded. In the past few days, she had finished dealing with the Everlasting Group's matters. The Everlasting Group was back on track, and she could relax.
The next day, Sam drove a limited edition Ferrari, taking Mindy, Maria, and Scott away first.
Larry touched his nose and said, "Honey, that car is a gift for you. How can you let him drive it?"
"Never mind." Chloe didn't mind too much. She didn't like being too flashy either. Driving that car would attract too much attention.
Chloe didn't say anything, and Larry didn't say more. He opened the door of the Maserati, got into the driver's seat, and Chloe got into the passenger seat. They drove towards the highway entrance.
Neon City was a neighboring city to Sunset City. It was also a major city, one of the top cities in the country.
Larry drove at a moderate speed.
"Larry, let's buy some gifts," Chloe said, "I haven't been to Neon City in almost ten years. I haven't seen Rowan and Solene in ten years. We should take this birthday seriously."
As she spoke, she took out a card and handed it to Larry. "This is a new card I got. There's one million dollars in it. You take it."
Larry asked, "Honey, why are you giving me so much money?"
"Just take it." Although Chloe hadn't been to Neon City in ten years, she knew her relatives well. They were just as snobbish as Maria. She didn't want Larry to be embarrassed.
Larry didn't understand Chloe's intention. "Honey, I found a job. I don't need money. Everlasting Group is currently in development and needs this money more. You keep it. My salary is enough."
Chloe rolled her eyes at Larry. "You might not care about being embarrased, but I do. My relatives are just like Mom."
Hearing this, Larry understood. He had to take the card.
"By the way, you probably don't know much about Rowan's family. Let me give you a brief introduction so you don't embarrass yourself."
"Okay, go ahead."
"Rowan is a soldier and has always worked in the military. Although his rank isn't high, the Martin family has a strong military tradition. Several relatives have worked in the military and are now in various government departments."
Larry nodded. He could tell from how much Helen admired soldiers.

Chloe briefly introduced some things about the Martin family.
Larry listened carefully.
Chloe advised him, "When we get there, don't talk nonsense or brag. Follow my lead when addressing people, okay?"
Larry nodded and said, "Okay, I won't embarrass you."
After driving for more than two hours, Larry finally arrived in Neon City. They didn't rush to the Martin Villa but went to the city center to pick out gifts. They walked into a jewelry store.
"Honey, what kind of gift do you think is suitable?" Chloe looked at the expensive jewelry. She felt that these were not suitable for elderly people, as they were past the age of wearing such things.
Larry had no idea either. He shrugged and said, "You decide."
Chloe said, "I remember Rowan smokes, but he had smoked all kinds of cigarettes. There's nothing special to buy."
"Then let's get some high-end cigarettes that can't be bought elsewhere."
Chloe rolled her eyes and scolded, "You make it sound easy. Do you have ways to get them?"
"Actually, I do." Larry smiled brightly. High-end cigarettes were no problem at all.
Chloe then recalled that Larry had been a soldier. After ten years in the military, it was not suprising that he would know some top officers. Getting high-end cigarettes shouldn't be a problem for him.
"What about a gift for Solene?" Chloe started to worry again. Then she slapped her forehead and said, "Solene is very health-conscious. We should buy some precious herbs from Sunset City."
Larry said, "We don't have to go to Sunset City for that. Neon City should have them too."
"Sunset City is Pharma City. Its herbs are world-famous. Although Neon City is close to Sunset City and sells precious herbs, the quality is far inferior."
"Not necessarily. Let's look around and see if we can find something good."
Chloe thought for a moment and nodded. "Okay, let's look around."
