Chapter 39 Venting Anger
Under the watchful eyes of many, Larry drove into the military zone.
The Lewis family members were filled with regret.
Just moments ago, they were mocking him, but in the blink of an eye, Larry drove in.
More importantly, the deputy at the gate showed him great respect.
They thought, 'Could it be that Larry is someone important?'
Inside the military zone.
Larry, driving, glanced at Chloe and smiled. "Chloe, didn't I tell you?"
"Larry, be honest with me, who exactly are you?" Chloe looked at Larry.
At this moment, she was once again suspicious of Larry.
Ever since she met Larry, many unbelievable things had happened!
The first time, he healed her injuries.
The second time, a big shot like Leo personally received her.
The third time, Samuel, the owner of Pavilion Restaurant, personally gave her a diamond membership card.
Today was the fourth time.
All of this was too unbelievable!
Larry explained, "I'm just a soldier. I've been in the army for ten years, so it's not surprising that I know some generals. And I told you, this car has a significant background. The Western Territory Army wouldn't dare to stop it. The deputy thought someone important was in the car and assumed I was the driver for a big shot!"
However, Maria didn't think too much about it.
In her view, Larry was just a soldier, without money or power. But this time, he did a great job!
It was so satisfying!
At this moment, a group of fully armed soldiers approached. Seeing Larry's car, they immediately stood aside, saluted, and watched the car leave.
Only after the car left did the soldiers march away in unison.
"So dignified!" Maria couldn't stop smiling and asked, "Larry, can I get out and take some pictures?"
Larry quickly said, "It's better not. Staying in the car is fine, but if you get out, you'll definitely be kicked out."
Hearing this, Maria gave up the idea.
Larry drove directly to the venue.
Inside the military zone, a stage had already been set up, and there were many seats below it. Many people in high-ranking military uniforms were already seated.
Larry reminded, "Chloe, Maria, let's not get out of the car. If we do, we'll definitely be kicked out. Let's just watch from here. And Maria, please don't take any pictures. These are all real big shots. If your photos get out, it would be a serious offense."
"Then what's the point of watching? We might as well go home and watch TV!" Maria lost interest immediately.
She came in just to take some pictures, post them on social media, and show off.
Now that Larry said no pictures were allowed, she lost interest in watching.
However, Chloe was interested because they were on the side of the stage, with a perfect view of the stage. From here, she could see the entire Free King succession ceremony.
"Larry, drive out. I want to show off in front of the Lewis family!" Maria said.
Over the years, after marrying into the Lewis family, she had been looked down upon, and Scott was a weakling.
She had had enough!
Larry looked at Chloe and asked, "Chloe, do you want to watch?"
Chloe said, "If Mom wants to go back, let's go back. The ceremony hasn't started yet. We can still catch the live broadcast on TV."
"Alright!" Larry started the car and drove out.
They were now checking invitations, and many wealthy people were waiting in line.
At this moment, Larry's car drove out again.
Maria said, "Larry, honk the horn to get their attention."
Larry immediately honked the horn.
The entrance of the military zone fell silent, and no one dared to speak.
At this moment, the horn drew a lot of attention, and everyone looked up.
They were surprised to see the car come out.!
The soldiers at the gate immediately stood at attention and saluted.
"Good day, sir!" The loud and clear voices echoed!
Maria rolled down the window, poked her head out, and couldn't hide her excitement and pride.
As the car drove by, the wealthy people in line made way.
Maria even stuck her head out, waving and greeting the soldiers on both sides, "Hello, thank you for your hard work."
Her demeanor and posture really made her look like an officer.
The car drove out of the military zone.
It stopped in front of the Lewis family members at the gate, and Maria got out.
She held her head high, chest out, feeling extremely proud.
With a bright smile, she said, "Dad, let's go back. I took a tour inside, and there's nothing much to see."
The Lewis family members were in despair, their faces gloomy, and they remained silent.
They could tell Maria was showing off.
Maria glanced at Julia, not seeing Luke, and said sarcastically, "Julia, where's your boyfriend? The eldest son of the Foster family? Didn't he get an invitation for you? Is the invitation fake? The eldest son of the Foster family isn't as capable as my son-in-law."
Julia's face turned displeased, and she was furious but didn't know how to respond.
Seeing her angry expression, Maria felt satisfied!
'Serves you right for taking credit for Larry's efforts. Now you're paying the price,' Maria thought.
She added, "Dad, what's wrong? You don't look well. Come, rest in Larry's cheap car for a while. But there's no air conditioning in the car. I wonder if you can handle the heat?"
"Enough!" Harry stepped forward and shouted, "Maria, what do you mean?"
Maria immediately put her hands on her hips and scolded Harry, "Why are you yelling? Just because you're the eldest son and hold the family power, you don't respect us. Just because you live in a villa with Dad, you talk behind our backs. The invitation was clearly arranged by Larry through his superiors, but you gave the credit to Luke and even scolded Chloe and our family?"
She had been holding in her anger for a long time.
She said, "Larry is just a soldier, without money or power, but he has comrades and superiors. Let me tell you, Larry was angry because you took credit for his efforts. He called his superior, who used his connections to notify the Western Territory Army, making the Lewis family's invitation invalid."
Saying this, she felt much better.
She didn't care if Victor got angry and took back the remaining shares. Because she knew Harry's family too well. As long as they were around, Scott's shares would soon be taken back!
The Lewis family members were speechless.
Victor finally realized that Larry had been telling the truth. He really could get an invitation, and it was indeed arranged by him.
"I was so foolish." Victor regretfully slapped his forehead.
Julia quickly walked over, supporting Victor, and comforted him, "Grandpa, don't be angry. Don't listen to her nonsense."
"Exactly," Oscar added, "The invitation was arranged by Luke through the Foster family. We were just too high-profile, which displeased the superiors."
"Maria is just trying to sow discord."
"She's just unhappy about the shares being taken back."
The Lewis family members all scolded Maria.
"Maria, you've gone too far. Apologize to Victor."
Maria sneered, "Apologize? No way. He's already kicked our family out of the Lewis family. We're no longer part of the Lewis family, so there's no need to apologize. And as for the shares, I don't want them. Take them back if you want. Even without the Lewis family, I can live well!"
She had had enough over the years.
Now she didn't care about anything and didn't respect Victor at all. He was just an old man who liked to brag.
After saying this, she got in the car and ordered, "Larry, drive back into the military zone and take a few more laps to make Victor regret kicking us out of the family!"
