Chapter 400 Discussion
                    Larry turned and walked away.
The director shouted, "Leila's great, really kind-hearted."
Larry ignored him completely.
He headed to Chloe's room.
After a long night of running around, he was exhausted. He leaned back on the couch, gently rubbing his forehead.
Chloe was wide awake.
"Honey, can you come over and talk to me for a bit?" Chloe looked at Larry with pleading eyes.
Larry glanced at her.
Seeing the look of hope on Chloe's face, he sighed deeply.
Chloe was pitiful, too. He really wanted to hold her in his arms and protect her for a lifetime.
But right now, he couldn't.
He walked over, pulled up a chair, sat by the bed, and held Chloe's hand. "I'm really tired and don't want to talk much. It's not that I don't want to pay attention to you, don't take it to heart."
Chloe's eyes welled up with tears. "Honey, when I get out of the hospital, can we get remarried?"
"Chloe, in my condition, I won't live much longer. Getting remarried would only burden you. You're still young, with a long life ahead. Even if I don't die, I'll be in a wheelchair or bedridden. Can you take care of me for a lifetime?"
Larry looked at Chloe and spoke each word slowly.
The fewer people who knew about the medical situation, the better.
Right now, only Abigail and a few others knew.
He didn't plan to tell Chloe.
Moreover, he needed to continue his disguise.
He had to deceive Alistair, make him careless, so he wouldn't notice or target him.
Only then could he better plan in secret, watching Alistair's every move.
"I can, I can, I can take care of you for a lifetime," Chloe nodded vigorously.
"Okay."
Larry nodded.
He didn't say anything more.
He let go of Chloe's hand, went back to the couch, and started meditating.
The next day.
Early in the morning, there was a knock on the door.
Soon, a female doctor walked in with a test bag.
It was Leila, the director's daughter.
Larry stood up.
Leila handed the test results to Larry. "Here are the results you wanted."
"Thanks." Larry took them.
Leila didn't say anything else. She handed the results to Larry and left.
Larry sat down and started looking at the results.
Larry examined the ingredients of the medication; there was nothing wrong.
He fell into deep thought.
He didn't believe Alistair would be so kind as to develop new drugs for the benefit of humanity. He must have a motive.
His previous guess was that VitaGen Medical had added Gu poison to the drugs, causing patients to be poisoned and thus controlled.
But from the test results, he realized he had overthought it.
However, he felt it wasn't that simple.
"Honey, what are you thinking about?"
Larry snapped out of it and shook his head slightly. "Nothing. When the food comes, eat by yourself. I have things to do today."
Chloe responded softly.
Larry got up and left the room.
He went outside the hospital, sat at the entrance, and stared at the test results in his hand.
Soon, his phone rang.
It was Esmeralda calling.
She had arrived in Sunset City with Xerxes early in the morning and had just gotten off the plane.
"I'm at the military hospital."
"Okay, we'll be there soon."
After telling her his location, Larry hung up the phone.
He fell into thought again.
Xerxes and Esmeralda arrived quickly.
When they got there, Larry was still sitting on the steps at the entrance of the inpatient department.
"Larry!"
A joyful voice called out.
Larry looked up.
A young woman in her twenties ran over, wearing a white dress. Her long hair blew in the wind as she ran.
She quickly reached Larry.
Larry stood up and called, "Esmeralda."
Esmeralda's beautiful face lit up with joy. She held Larry's hand and smiled. "Finally, I get to see you again. How's your illness? Are you okay?"
Larry said softly, "Still the same, but I won't die for now."
At that moment, a burly man walked over.
"Larry..."
Larry called, "Xerxes."
Xerxes nodded. "I spent the night gathering funds, but I only managed to accumulate three billion dollars. If you need it, the money can be transferred to you immediately."
"No need to transfer it to me. Let's find a place to talk."
Larry didn't plan to handle the money himself. He intended for Xerxes to give it directly to Abigail.
"Esmeralda, come with me to the room."
"Okay." Esmeralda nodded.
Larry returned to Chloe's room.
Since Sarah had already sent the custom wheelchair, Larry didn't plan to walk out. There would definitely be Alistair's spies outside. If he was going to act, he had to act convincingly.
He sat in the wheelchair and let Esmeralda push him.
He left the hospital with Esmeralda and Xerxes while calling Abigail.
Sunset City, a villa.
This was Esmeralda's residence in Sunset City.
Abigail had already arrived.
Today, Abigail was dressed fashionably, in a blue plaid dress. Her curly hair was straightened, giving her a pure and cute look instead of her usual seductive and sexy appearance.
The group gathered.
"Xerxes, transfer the money to Abigail. She'll handle the company registration."
Xerxes didn't know what Larry was planning.
He didn't ask much and transferred the money directly.
After the transfer, he said, "I have business in the north, so I won't stay in Sunset City. Esmeralda will stay here for now. She's a bit mischievous, so keep an eye on her."
"Alright, stop nagging. If you're busy, just go. You're so annoying." Esmeralda stood up and pushed Xerxes away.
Larry assured him, "Xerxes, don't worry. I'll take good care of Esmeralda. I'll also work on her illness and cure her soon."
Xerxes felt reassured, leaving Esmeralda with Larry.
He didn't stay long and left.
After Xerxes left, Abigail asked, "Larry, what's the next step?"
Larry had already thought it through.
"Let's not talk about making money for now. The main thing is to capture the market. VitaGen Medical's promotion of its new drug is overwhelming, capturing a significant market. I don't know what Alistair is planning, but if we can capture VitaGen Medical's market, we can disrupt Alistair's plans."
"Next, you take the money and register the company."
Abigail said, "Registering a company is easy, but what about the drugs? A pharmaceutical company needs a research team to develop new drugs, which takes years. We don't even have a team, and even if we find one, it can't develop drugs quickly enough to compete with VitaGen Medical or other pharmaceutical groups."
"I'll handle that."
Larry said, "With my knowledge and research on medicinal herbs, creating new drug formulas isn't difficult. We need to act quickly."
Larry and Abigail discussed for a long time.
Abigail would create the company, and he would provide the formulas to produce new drugs to compete with VitaGen Medical.
They finalized everything after discussing it all morning.
Larry was exhausted and leaned back on the couch.
Abigail walked over, gently massaging his head, her face filled with concern. "Your body isn't well yet. You shouldn't overwork yourself. Get some sleep, and I'll wake you for lunch."
