Chapter 374 King of Assassins

Alden swallowed the poison Larry had concocted.

Larry knew Alden was a powerhouse, and if he lost control, it would be a disaster.

He never did anything without a plan.

Rescuing Alden was possible.

But Alden's life had to be in his hands.

Larry's plan was meticulous, with clear divisions of labor.

Someone infiltrated the dungeon during the daily inspections, while another timed a power outage to disable the surveillance.

Soon, Lyra brought Alden to where the Legion of Flame Surge lay unconscious.

Lyra pointed to the unconscious Legion of Flame Surge on the ground and said, "Take off one of their uniforms and put it on, quick."

Alden didn't say a word and immediately stripped one of the guards, putting on the uniform swiftly.

"Let's go."

The group quickly headed out of the dungeon.

By now, the power had been restored.

However, the surveillance footage appeared normal, and the guards in the control room didn't suspect a thing.

The footage had been replaced long ago, so no matter what happened in the dungeon, it wouldn't show up on the screens.

Larry had planned everything in advance.

After the power outage, the footage was quickly replaced with pre-recorded scenes.

At the dungeon entrance.

Four members of the Legion of Flame Surge emerged.

Among them, three were members of the Eight Heavenly Dragons, and one was Alden, now wearing a Flame Surge robe.

The guards at the entrance didn't suspect anything and opened the door.

The four walked out without a word.

One of the guards at the entrance muttered, "Something feels off."

"What's off?" another guard joked, "Nothing's off. Here, have a smoke."

He took out a cigarette and handed it around.

"Hey, who are you? I haven't seen you before."

"I'm new, just joined the Legion of Flame Surge. Here's my ID." The man showed his ID.

He was once known as Shadowblade on the assassin leaderboard.

Now, he was Night Dragon of the Eight Heavenly Dragons.

He was responsible for the pickup at the entrance.

He flashed his ID and smiled, "See? No problem. I used to be in the special forces."

Night Dragon flashed his ID while glancing into the distance, seeing that Alden had been taken far away. He finally breathed a sigh of relief, put away his ID, and said, "You guys keep watch here. I'm going to take a look around for anything unusual."

With that, he turned and left.

The guards at the entrance continued their watch.

"The rescue was successful. Retreat."

"Roger that."

"Roger."

After receiving the message that Alden had been rescued, everyone quickly retreated.

Not far from the dungeon.

There was a car.

Inside the car sat a man in a black robe and a black baseball cap.

This was Shadow.

As a precaution, Shadow was there to assist. If the operation failed and the Eight Heavenly Dragons were pursued, they would escape to his car. Although he held no official position, he wielded significant power in Aurora Citadel, and no one dared to check his car.

Upon hearing of the success, he started the car and drove away.

Soon, the unconscious guards in the dungeon were discovered.

The dungeon echoed with the sound of alarms.

Hearing the alarms, the Legion of Flame Surge guards at the entrance rushed in. After checking, they found Alden was gone.

"Alden has been rescued."

"Send out the order to lock down the entire city. We must capture him."

The Legion of Flame Surge quickly mobilized.

Meanwhile.

At a secret base in Aurora Citadel,

A helicopter was already waiting.

Alden was brought to the helicopter, along with the eight members of the Eight Heavenly Dragons.

Shadow stood nearby, watching the helicopter slowly take off. He then took out his phone and called Larry, "Alden's been rescued and is safely leaving Aurora Citadel, heading to Sunset City."

Larry received the call, a faint smile on his face, "Got it."

Shadow said, "I'll leave the rest to you. I need to clean up here in Aurora Citadel, erase their records, or Alistair will trace it back to me."

"Understood." Larry nodded.

Shadow asked, "When do you plan to leave?"

"No rush," Larry said softly, "I can't leave now. If I leave now, Alistair will suspect me. I'll stay a few more days, wait for Alistair to return, and then say goodbye before leaving."

"Suit yourself, just be careful."

Shadow hung up the phone.

In the presidential suite, room 888.

Larry stood on the balcony, looking at the brightly lit city ahead.

Abigail stood beside him. She waited until Larry hung up the phone before asking, "Did it work?"

"Yeah."

Larry nodded, "It's done. Alden's been rescued and is now on a plane to Sunset City."

Larry took out his phone and called Free.

The call connected quickly.

Free's rough voice came through the phone, "Larry, what brings you to call me?"

Larry said softly, "A helicopter will land at the Sunset City military base soon. Make arrangements to hide the person for me."

Free was momentarily stunned, then nodded, "Got it."

Larry took a deep breath, put his phone in his pocket, and smiled at Abigail, "We've been up all night. Let's go rest."

He turned and went back to the room.

He lay on the bed but felt a bit hungry.

He rubbed his stomach.

Abigail saw his expression and knew he was hungry. She said, "What do you want to eat? I'll order takeout."

Larry said softly, "Anything will do."

"Do you want meat?"

"Sure."

Meanwhile, on the plane to Sunset City.

Alden laughed out loud.

After being locked away in darkness for years, he was finally free.

He looked at the people around him.

His gaze swept over each of them, finally resting on Lyra.

Lyra had removed her mask, revealing her true face.

Alden looked at her, his bearded face showing a hint of surprise, "Lyra, you really joined Larry."

Lyra looked at Alden.

She knew of Alden, the founder of the Shadow Syndicate, but had never met him.

The others also looked at Alden, the legendary assassin, the king of killers known worldwide.

"Alden, do you recognize me?"

Hearing this, Alden looked over and laughed, "You rascal, you joined Larry too?"

Bloodstorm, now Wave Dragon, smiled faintly, "The assassin life was tough. I've reformed. I'm now Wave Dragon, one of the Eight Heavenly Dragons of the Southwild Black Dragon army."

Alden looked at the people on the plane.

Recognizing them, he couldn't help but take a deep breath.

"Larry really has some skills, recruiting such renowned assassins. Together, you might not be invincible, but few could defeat you."

Alden gave them high praise.

He wore a bright smile.

"I'm heading to the border. How about joining me? With me, you'll have endless wealth and glory."

The group looked unimpressed.

"Alden, you can barely protect yourself now. Save those words for when you survive."

"You took Larry's poison. Without his antidote, you won't last long."

Alden rubbed his nose, "Oh, really? He was the one who captured me back then. I didn't expect him to send people to rescue me now. I look forward to seeing him again."
