Chapter 163 No Money in the Card
Chloe had a stern look on her face. She had thought Larry was really hiding his true abilities, but it all turned out to be an act.
She had long known what kind of person Larry was. However, he wasn't entirely shameless; at least he could still be honest with her.
"Chloe, Larry, what are you two talking about?" Helen walked over, looking very confused.
Chloe turned to look at her and asked, "Helen, did you tell Larry about Grandpa's health condition?"
Helen was slightly taken aback, thinking, 'When had I told Larry anything?'
After a brief moment of surprise, she nodded and said, "Chloe, don't blame me. Larry insisted I tell him, I had no choice."
Chloe glanced at Larry. She had just started to have a bit of a good impression of him, but now it was instantly gone. "You should learn to be more humble," she scolded him.
"Yes, dear, you're right." Larry didn't dare to argue.
Chloe snorted coldly and walked away. After she left, Helen asked, "Larry, why did you lie to Chloe? Wouldn't it be better to tell the truth?"
Larry rubbed his nose. He hadn't intended to lie to her, but Chloe actually wanted him to work at the Everlasting Group clinic. He didn't want to work.
He had finally gotten some leisure time, and if one day there was danger at the border of the nation and the leaders ordered him to leave, he would have to go back to living a dangerous life.
"Thank you." Larry didn't explain himself and just expressed his gratitude.
Later, he stayed at the Martin residence.
They had lunch at the Martin residence. After lunch, everyone left one after another.
Sam took a few of the youngsters out for a joyride in the sports car.
And Chloe hadn't bought a gift yet, so she took Larry to the city center. They wandered around the city center for a long time but couldn't find a satisfactory gift.
Finally, Chloe called Kelly, "Kelly, it's Chloe. I'm in Neon City. Do you know where I can buy some precious herbs here? I want to give them to Solene."
Hearing Chloe's words, Kelly said, "Neon City, right? Chloe, tonight, the Pillar Pharmacy's Neon City branch is having an auction. There will be many rare herbs for sale, but the prices are very high."
"Really? That's great."
"Listen, Chloe. The herbs will be very expensive. They'll cost at least ten million dollars."

After calling Kelly, Chloe looked at Larry and said, "Kelly said the Pillar Pharmacy's Neon City branch is having an auction tonight, and there will be very precious herbs for sale. The auction price is at least ten million dollars."
"Then buy them," Larry said. "If the herbs are really that precious, the price isn't too high."

"I have the money."

Larry took out a Black Dragon Card and waved it in front of Chloe.
Chloe glanced at him. "Don't tell me there's still money on this card?"
"You're very smart."
"How much is left?"
"Enough to buy the herbs."
"Larry, how dare you lie to me."
"I'm not lying to you. There's not much left on the card, probably just a hundred million dollars." Larry put on a helpless expression.
Chloe snatched the Black Dragon Card and said coldly, "I want to see how much money is left on this card."
With that, she walked towards a nearby ATM and inserted the card.
Chloe entered the password. Seeing the balance, she immediately smiled. Then she put on a stern expression and scolded, "The balance is zero. How dare you lie to me."
Larry rubbed his nose. The balance was indeed zero, but the card could prepay up to ten billion dollars. And he didn't even have to repay it. After spending the money, the national finance department would cover the bill.
Chloe pulled out the card and handed it back to Larry. Although there was no money on the card, she was still very happy because the money may come from an unusual source if there really was any.
She thought that Larry claiming he had money stemmed from his propensity for jokes.
The two of them walked towards the Pillar Pharmacy branch that Kelly mentioned.

"Chloe?" a voice called out.
Chloe turned to see a sexy and beautiful woman walking over with a handsome man.
Chloe stared at the approaching familiar woman but couldn't remember where she had seen her before. "Who are you?"
"Chloe, it's me,Fiora."
"Fiora?" Chloe was slightly surprised.
Fiora was her high school classmate and one of her friends. Her relationship with Fiora was the same as with Abigail; they used to be very close friends.
Fiora smiled and said, "I heard from Abigail in the class chat group that you got your looks back. Abigail even posted your photo. When I saw you, I couldn't believe it. I had to look at the photo again to be sure."
Chloe smiled warmly.
Fiora tugged at the handsome man beside her and said with a smile, "This is my boyfriend, Lysander Martinez from the Martinez family."
"Nice to meet you." Chloe extended her hand graciously.
Lysander looked at Chloe with a slightly dazed expression while shaking her hand. He did not let go even after a long time.
Chloe felt a bit awkward and gently pulled her hand away. She pulled Larry over and introduced, "This is my husband, Larry Bennett."
"So you are Larry," Fiora exclaimed. The way she looked at him was as if she had seen something extraordinary. "I heard from Abigail that you are a good-for-nothing who always uses the Lewis family's money and doesn't go to work."
