Chapter 31 Buy the Trade Center for Me
Larry just wanted to make Chloe happy, that was all.
Unexpectedly, he had Free King deliver the invitation, but someone else took the credit, causing Chloe to misunderstand him.
After calling Frank, he chased after her. "Chloe."
He ran over, grabbed her, and explained, "Listen to me, I really didn't lie to you. I had someone deliver the invitation, but someone else took the credit."
"Bastard, still lying at this point," Maria cursed, "You've already lost enough dignity."
Sam also egged on. "Chloe, he's just a discharged soldier, he definitely has no ability. Divorce him quickly."
Chloe, with tears in her eyes, said, "Larry, enough. I thank you for taking such good care of me, I thank you for curing me, but I don't want to see you right now. Just go!"
After saying that, she ran away crying.
Larry was very hurt.
Even when facing many enemies, he had never been so embarrassed.
"Such a bastard," Maria cursed again.
Larry stood there, watching Scott and his family leave, and took a deep breath.
He chased after them again but was not allowed inside.
Helpless, he decided to leave and wait until Chloe was no longer angry to explain.
After leavingy, he went to Frank's Mortal Clinic.
"Mr. Bennett, what brings you here?" As soon as he entered, Frank asked. Noticing his troubled expression, Frank immediately shut up, tossing him a cigarette.
Larry was very sad.
He just wanted to make Chloe happy, but he didn't expect to encounter such a shameless person who took his credit.
"Frank, should I not have come back?" Larry smoked, the smoke swirling around his fingers.
Frank asked, "Mr. Bennett, what happened?"
Larry recounted the events.
Frank smiled wryly. "Mr. Bennett, I've never been in love, so I really can't help you. But if you are unhappy with the Foster family, I can take care of them right away."
"Forget it." Larry waved his hand slightly. "It's not a deep-seated hatred. This is Sunset City, a peaceful city, not the Southwild Border. The methods used against enemies can't be used against our own people."
Hearing this, Frank fell silent.
"By the way, Frank, you manage my assets. How much do I have now?" Since returning to the city, Larry had been through a lot.
He used to not care about money, but now he realized that he couldn't do without it.
Frank said, "I don't know, let me see. We once captured several gold mines from enemy countries, which you sold to a big boss for over three billion dollars. Another time, a wealthy man got into trouble and was chased by enemy forces, and you saved him. That wealthy man gave you ten million dollars as a reward. Also, some wealthy merchants from small countries at the Southwild Border pay you protection fees every year. All of this adds up to about twenty or thirty billion dollars."
"Do I have that much money?" Larry was slightly surprised.
He used to not care about these things, but now he did, and he didn't expect to be so wealthy.
Frank added, "Mr. Bennett, you are the Black Dragon of Southwild. Southwild is chaotic but also the easiest place to make money. You have a lot of assets, but you're too lazy to make money. Otherwise, you would have been the richest man in the world by now."
Listening to Frank, Larry muttered to himself, "I guess I was too foolish before."
"Mr. Bennett, why are you suddenly concerned about money? You have a special Black Dragon Card, a reward from the higher-ups, with a limit of ten billion dollars. You shouldn't be short of money."
"Chloe said I was hiding money and confiscated it, saying it was for raising kids in the future." Speaking of Chloe, Larry had an unconscious smile on his face.
"Frank.
"Buy the new Trade Center in Sunset City for me."
Hearing this, Frank was stunned.
The Trade Center was a newly built commercial center with over fifty skyscrapers, along with night markets, pedestrian streets, and more.
The Trade Center was completed andbuilt by several real estate tycoons, aiming to make it the most prosperous commercial center in the country.
Larry said, "What, not enough money? If not, use some connections."
Frank looked at Larry and couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Bennett, what are you planning? Our funds add up to only about twenty billion dollars. Buying the entire Trade Center is a huge amount. Do you know how big the Trade Center is? The land alone is very expensive. I heard that the real estate giants invested about fifty billion dollars and took five years to complete the Trade Center."
Larry had no concept of these things and directly asked, "Just tell me, how much does it cost to buy the Trade Center?"
Frank thought for a moment and said, "The real estate giants invested over fifty billion dollars. Even if we get the lowest price and the developers don't make a profit, we would need at least sixty billion dollars to take it over."
"Buy it. If the money is not enough, ask some wealthy people from the Southwild Border. Quickly gather sixty billion dollars and buy the Trade Center for me."
"This is not a small amount. I might have to go to Southwild myself."
"Go ahead." Larry waved his hand slightly.
Meanwhile, at the Scott's place.
"Chloe, what are you hesitating for? Divorce Larry quickly!"
"Yeah, Chloe, even being Leo's mistress is better than being with this discharged soldier."
The family surrounded Chloe, urging her to divorce Larry.
"I'm a bit tired, I'll go to my room to sleep." Chloe stood up and left.
Back in her room, she sat on the bed, slightly lost in thought.
She had gotten used to having Larry around, and now that he wasn't there, she felt a bit lost, as if something important was suddenly missing.
She knew Larry wanted to make her happy. But he messed things up, making her embarrassed in front of the Lewis family.
She took out her phone, wanting to call Larry to come back, but didn't dial the number. Instead, she sat on the bed angrily. She thought, 'Why should I? He did something wrong. If he doesn't call me to apologize, I don't need to call him.'
Thinking of this, she angrily threw her phone on the bed. But she kept looking at her phone, hoping Larry would call.
One minute, ten minutes, half an hour, an hour, three hours.
Chloe waited until 1:00 a.m., but Larry didn't call or even send a text. She was so angry that she paced around the room, cursing Larry for being heartless.
After telling Frank to buy the Trade Center, Frank went to Southwild overnight to get the money. There were many small countries rich in various minerals in the Southwild border. There were many wealthy people, and gathering a few hundred billion dollars shouldn't be difficult.
Larry's purpose for returning was to repay a favor and seek revenge. But he had been spending time with Chloe and hadn't had time to deal with the Four Great Families.
Apart from killing Kevin and Frederick of the Hall family, he hadn't taken any action.
While Chloe was mad at him, he planned to find Roxanne and ask about the Artwork of Moonlit.
At the Hall Family's remaining villa.
It was already early morning, and the villa's lights were off.
Outside the villa, a figure appeared who was wearing a black coat and a black ghost mask, like a ghost.
