Chapter 143 I'm Not Worthy of Chloe
Larry resolved the Justin issue and then left Imperial Residence. In the afternoon, he went home and stayed home.
Meanwhile, Maria and others went to the bank to deposit money.
Chloe went to the Everlasting Group. Having just taken over the Everlasting Group, she had a lot to do. Even at 6 PM, she had yet to come home..
Maria had arranged for Chloe and Justin to meet for dinner and was a bit worried when Chloe didn't come back, so she called Chloe herself and told her to come home immediately.

Maria smiled and said, "I arranged for you to have dinner with Justin. Hurry up. Mr. Carter is very busy, and we can't waste his time."
Chloe's face instantly darkened, and she said, "I'm not going. Please free to go to the dinner yourself."
Maria immediately put her hands on her hips and scolded, "Chloe, who has been providing for you these past ten years? For your sake, I've endured so much ridicule. Now that you're beautiful, you're refusing to listen to me anymore?"
"Why is my life so hard?" Maria started crying loudly. "If you don't go for the dinner today, I'll jump! I'd rather die."
As she spoke, she really opened the window and was about to jump.
Scott quickly pulled her back and looked at Chloe, persuading, "Chloe, you won't abandon Mom for Larry, will you?"
Sam also urged, "Yeah, is Larry really that great?"
The whole family was trying to persuade her.
Chloe's eyes were filled with tears. She looked at Larry with a grievous expression, and Larry felt heartbroken seeing her like this.
Larry then said, "Chloe, why don't you just go have dinner with Mr. Carter? I'll go with you."
"Are you stupid?" Chloe scolded, "Letting your wife have dinner with another man, and you want to go too? If you go, won't you be humiliated? You might not be afraid of being embarrassed, but I am."
Larry didn't expect Chloe to react so strongly. He had already planned it out.
Justin definitely wouldn't dare to covet Chloe anymore. During this dinner, Justin would make it clear that he wouldn't bother Chloe again.
Larry's indifferent attitude made Chloe feel disappointed. If Larry were capable and ambitious, Maria wouldn't have to find her a better match.
Seeing Maria's desperate look, she cried and said, "Mom, stop it. I'll go, okay? I'll go."
Only then did Maria stop making a scene and instructed, "Then what are you waiting for? Go change your clothes."
Chloe, feeling wronged, went back to her room to change.
Larry sat silently on the sofa.
Soon, Chloe changed into a fitted dress, and the whole family went to Pavilion Restaurant.
Justin had reserved a private room at Pavilion Restaurant early on, and it was the top-tier room. After learning about Larry's identity, he didn't want to come, but since Larry asked him to, he had no choice.
He arrived at Pavilion Restaurant at 5 PM and waited for over two hours. It wasn't until after 7 PM that Chloe's family showed up.
Led by the waiter, Chloe and the others entered the room.
For those two hours, Justin was on edge. It wasn't until they walked in that he snapped out of it, wiped the cold sweat off his face, and quickly stood up to greet them respectfully, "Chloe, you're here. Good evening, everyone."
Seeing Larry at the back, Justin couldn't help but feel scared.
Justin was so enthusiastic that Chloe couldn't keep a straight face. She smiled slightly and said, "Mr. Carter, sorry to keep you waiting."
"I just got here too. Please have a seat." Justin invited everyone to sit down.
As soon as Chloe sat down, Samuel walked in with a bright smile. "Chloe, you're here."
He then snapped his fingers, and several beautiful waitresses came in carrying gifts. There were dresses, necklaces, and bags.
Samuel said, "Chloe, I spent a long time picking these out."
Chloe frowned. Every time she came, Samuel was very enthusiastic and gave her many gifts, which she had already refused several times.
"Mr. Harper, this is too much," Maria stood up, saying they shouldn't accept, but still took some of the gifts.
"Mom, what are you doing? We can't accept these," Chloe quickly said.
Maria smiled. "We can't turn down Mr. Harper's good intentions."
"Exactly," Samuel said, "These are nothing valuable."
"I'll accept them on Chloe's behalf," Maria said with a bright smile. She had received many gifts recently and was very happy about it.
After giving the gifts, Samuel quickly left.
Soon, the food was served. Larry didn't say anything and just focused on eating. His wolfing down the food made Chloe frown. She looked at Justin with an apologetic expression and said, "Mr. Carter, sorry for the embarrassment."
"No problem," Justin immediately stood up and said, "Chloe, actually, I have something to say to you today."
"I agree." Before he could finish, Maria stood up, looking very satisfied with Justin, and said, "I'm very pleased with you as a son-in-law. Chloe can divorce Larry anytime and marry you right away."
"Maria," Chloe looked at Maria with resentment.
Knowing Larry's identity, Justin didn't dare to marry Chloe. She was not for him; only a capable man like Black Dragon could match her.
"Maria, you misunderstood," Justin, worried that Larry might get angry, quickly explained, "I want to say that I'm not worthy of Chloe."
Maria was stunned, Sam was shocked, and Mindy looked at Justin in disbelief.
Even Chloe was slightly taken aback. As a woman, having someone pursue her made her a bit happy but she didn't expect Jastin say this.
For a moment, everyone stared at Justin.
Justin looked at Larry, who was wolfing down the food, and said, "Chloe is naturally beautiful and unparalleled. I'm not worthy of her; only Larry is."
Hearing this, Chloe glanced at Larry and couldn't help but pout.
Maria was stunned for a moment, then laughed, "Mr. Carter, you must be joking. I've heard that, aside from your family, you've made billions of dollars abroad over the years. If you're not worthy of Chloe, then Larry, this good-for-nothing, is even less so."
"Maria, I'm serious. I'm really not worthy of Chloe. Chloe, it was my fault before for going to your home without permission. Please don't take it to heart."
Justin's words puzzled the Lewises.
Chloe glanced at Larry. From beginning to end, he hadn't said a word.
Chloe thought to herself, 'Could it be that the mysterious Mr. Bennett found out about Justin bringing gifts to my house and confronted him? It must be the case. Otherwise, why would Justin change so much in just one day and treat me with such respect? He respects me because the mysterious Mr. Bennett respects me.'
Thinking of the mysterious Mr. Bennett, Chloe felt moved. 'Mr. Bennett clearly likes me but doesn't say anything because I have a husband. He even secretly resolved the issue with Justin, trying to bring me and Larry together. But Larry is petty, not trusting me and even secretly following me.'
Thinking of these things, Chloe felt more disappointed.
