Chapter 412 Research Results
The cave entrance had been reinforced with a steel door.
At that moment, the door swung open, and several heavily armed mercenaries rushed out.
But Alden and the Eight Heavenly Dragons had superior firepower. They charged forward with heavy weapons, firing continuously, and the mercenaries who emerged were instantly cut down, collapsing into pools of blood.
Inside the research base, in an office.
"Someone's broken in. The guards at the entrance have all been killed."
A subordinate hurriedly burst in.
Several people were seated in the office.
One was Alistair, another was Scarface, and there was Bobby.
There was also a man in his fifties.
Although the man appeared to be around fifty, his hair was completely white.
When Alistair heard the alarm, he knew Larry had come.
He asked in a low voice, "How many of them?"
"According to the surveillance, there are nine."
Alistair opened the laptop on the desk, connected it to the surveillance system.
He saw the scene at the entrance of the research base: nine heavily armed individuals positioned at various points, continuously firing at the entrance.
And on a large tree not far away, a man stood.
"Alden, the Eight Heavenly Dragons who defected from Southwild, Larry..."
Seeing these people, Alistair's face turned pale.
He had suspected something when the Eight Heavenly Dragons defected and had investigated, but found nothing. He hadn't expected this to be Larry's plan.
He saw Larry captured by the drone in the sky.
Larry stood on a branch, showing no signs of being affected by the Gu.
"Damn it, how is he fine?"
"It's time to test the power of the bio-warriors," said the white-haired man in a doctor's coat, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Alistair finally smiled. "With Dr. C here, I'm relieved. Even if Larry has regained his strength, even if Alden is strong, and the Eight Heavenly Dragons are formidable, if they dare to enter the base, it will be their grave."
Dr. C was not just a medical doctor.
He was also a Gu raiser.
He was a descendant of the Harris family and the main person in charge of this base.
He had been raising Gu for decades and studying medicine for decades, combining the two to create a terrifying bio-virus.
Alistair looked at Dr. C and asked again, "Doctor, how many bio-warriors do we have in the base now?"
Dr. C smiled and said, "Not many, just a few dozen. Over the years, you've sent thousands of death row inmates, but only a few dozen survived."
"So few?" Alistair frowned.
Dr. C laughed, "That's not few. Do you know what these few dozen mean? They have been injected with the virus, and their cell structure has completely changed. They are impervious to bullets and blades, and they don't feel pain. More importantly, they have immense strength."
Alistair asked, "How do they compare to a Martial Master?"
Dr. C laughed heartily, "What is a Martial Master? Although a Martial Master has reached the pinnacle of combat, they are still human; they still get tired. My warriors, however, have endless strength; they get braver the more they fight, they don't know fatigue or pain. With one command, they will fight to the death."
With Dr. C's assurance, Alistair felt at ease.
He clenched his fist, his expression rare and somber, and said coldly, "Larry, today I will end you once and for all."
A subordinate rushed in again, dropping to one knee. "They've broken in. Their firepower is overwhelming; our men can't hold them off."
Dr. C stood up calmly. "Alistair, come with me. Let me show you the results of our research."
"Alright," Alistair replied, standing up.
Dr. C turned and walked out, with Alistair, Scarface, and Bobby following closely behind.
They ventured deep into the underground passage, which twisted and turned for about ten minutes.
After ten minutes, they arrived at a spacious area filled with iron cages. Inside the cages were numerous monstrous creatures, neither fully human nor ghost.
These creatures stood about 9 feet tall and were incredibly burly.
They wore no clothes, their veins bulging, their faces twisted and terrifying.
As soon as they entered the area, wails echoed around them.
The monstrous creatures in the cages were constantly hitting the iron bars, banging their heads against the cages.
However, the cages were made of thick steel, and even with their immense strength, the bio-warriors couldn't break free.
Dr. C pointed at the creatures in the cages and smiled. "These are the finished products of our research. They have immense strength, but due to changes in their cells and genes, their lifespan is short, at most three years. The experiment isn't perfect yet; it needs constant improvement. I need more test subjects to find the issues."
Alistair nodded with satisfaction. "I'll get more test subjects as soon as possible."
Dr. C added, "It's best to get strong men. Women are too weak; they can't endure and die easily. The stronger the body, the better it can endure."
Alistair thought for a moment. "Alright, after we deal with Larry, I'll send some members of the Legion of Flame Surge. They're well-trained and physically strong. The experiment results should be better than with ordinary people."
Dr. C's face lit up with joy. "That would be perfect."
Alistair looked at the bio-warriors in the cages, his face full of anticipation. "Now, let me see the results of your experiment. By the way, will these warriors lose control once they're freed?"
Dr. C laughed. "Don't worry, they're controlled by the Gu, and the Gu is under my control."
He then ordered the guards, "Open the cages."
"Yes, sir."
Several guards walked over and opened the cages.
As soon as the cages were opened, the 9-foot-tall bio-warriors charged out, baring their teeth and claws.
They rushed to Dr. C and knelt down.
"Master," they spoke, but their faces were filled with pain.
Dr. C commanded, "Go, tear the intruders apart."
"Roar!"
The bio-warriors let out a monstrous roar and charged towards the exit.
Dr. C looked at Alistair, a smile on his lips. "Now let's go watch the show. Let you see the true power of these bio-warriors."
Alistair was also full of anticipation.
After so many years of research, he could finally see the results.
Larry led Alden and the Eight Heavenly Dragons, cutting their way through.
They were unstoppable, leaving a trail of bodies in their wake.
"What is that sound?"
At that moment, the ground began to tremble.
Everyone was slightly stunned.
Looking around, they saw some monstrous creatures charging out, and their faces changed.
"Undead warriors?" Alden and the Eight Heavenly Dragons exclaimed in unison.
