Chapter 107 What's Your Relationship with Sue?

Larry rode his electric motorcycle to the Lewis Family Villa.

As soon as he walked in, he saw antiques and furniture shattered everywhere.

Victor was on the couch smoking, while everyone else, except a few core family members, stood around.

Larry walked in, pretending to be surprised. "Weren't you celebrating Victor's 80th birthday at the Imperial Residence? Why's everyone home? What's going on?"

He noticed Stella on the couch, crying her eyes out. "Isn't that Stella? What's wrong? Where's your husband, Chris, the deputy police captain? Why don't I see him?"

Larry glanced around.

The Lewis Family members looked grim.

Larry was really asking for trouble.

However, now that they needed his help, they held back their anger.

Oscar spoke in a low voice, "Larry, you have a special relationship with Helen, right? She's with Miss Cox from the Epoch Group now. Can you ask Miss Cox to cut the Lewis Family some slack?"

Larry walked over and sat next to Chloe.

Chloe shifted slightly to keep some distance.

Larry feigned confusion. "What's going on?"

He looked at the family members. No one spoke up.

"If you don't tell me what's happening, I can't help. Chloe, you tell me."

Chloe glanced at Larry and then softly said, "Today at the Imperial Residence..."

She recounted everything that had happened in detail.

Larry shamelessly laughed, "I said the general's secretary, Daniel, would be fired. Didn't expect it to actually happen. Serves him right."

The family's faces darkened.

Harry said coldly, "Larry, you're part of the Lewis Family, too. You shouldn't be gloating."

"I'm mocking you, so what? Can't stand it? Fine, I'm leaving." Larry stood up to go.

Chloe quickly grabbed his arm, her face pleading. "Larry, I'm begging you, please."

Larry looked at Chloe. "Chloe, there is really nothing going on between Helen and me. It's not what you think. My love for you is sincere. If you let me die, I won't dare to live. Why don't you believe me?"

Larry had never had a chance to explain. Now, he finally did.

"I, I believe you. Now, can you help the Lewis Family this time?"

"Chloe, you still don't believe me." Larry, with a righteous expression, said, "I've told you, I have nothing to do with Helen. If anyone should step in, it should be you. Helen is your cousin. If you can't handle it, how can I, an outsider, manage it?"

Larry was telling the truth. But to the Lewis Family, it seemed like he was showing off, trying to get more benefits.

Victor asked coldly, "Tell us, what are your conditions? As long as it's not too excessive, I'll agree."

Harry offered, "How about two million dollars?"

Larry shrugged. 'Two million? Do I need money? The entire NextGen City belongs to me, worth billions. If I want to make money, a trip to Southwild will bring in hundreds of millions.'

The family all looked at Larry coldly.

Victor, his face livid with anger, said, "Two million isn't enough? I'll give you ten million. As long as you can resolve this issue and get the Lewis Family out of this crisis, I promise to give you ten million."

Chloe also looked at Larry hopefully. Her tearful expression made Larry feel worried.

Larry sat down again and reached for Chloe's hand.

Chloe instinctively pulled away.

Larry, looking embarrassed, said to Chloe, "Chloe, you still don't believe me. None of you believe me. I'm not someone who needs money. I just want to prove my innocence. If you had believed me earlier, none of this would have happened."

Victor looked at Larry. "So you're saying that because we didn't believe you, the Lewis Family is in this mess? Did you cause this?"

"Exactly." Larry crossed his legs and lit a cigarette.

"I told you a long time ago that I had everything arranged. It was because of my call that Timothy came to apologize. But you chose to believe Chris. I told you the General's secretary from the Ortiz Family would be dismissed. Did you think I was just making it up?"

The Lewis Family members looked at each other in astonishment.

They were all taken aback by Larry's words.

Did Larry really have the power to make the Free King personally intervene?

After a brief moment of confusion, the family members understood.

Larry was taking the opportunity to boast after the fact, making himself seem very impressive.

In the entire Sunset City, no one could make the Free King personally intervene.

Victor took a deep breath and said, "Larry, no matter what, you're part of the Lewis Family now. You can't just stand by and watch us fall into trouble, can you?"

Larry raised his voice, asking, "Weren't you going to expel me from the family? Weren't you going to make Chloe divorce me?"

"No, we won't expel you."

"No divorce, and you're still the son-in-law of the Lewis Family."

The family members all chimed in.

Victor looked at Chloe and asked, "Chloe, what do you think?"

Chloe thought for a moment and said, "As long as you can resolve the current crisis, I'll give you another chance."

Larry looked at Maria. "Mom, what do you think?"

Maria promptly said, "No divorce, never again. If anyone dares to mention divorce again, they'll have to deal with me."

Larry was very satisfied.

If they had done this earlier, none of this would have happened.

Larry looked at Chloe and said, "Chloe, give Helen a call."

"Me?" Chloe was slightly taken aback.

Larry said, "Yes, who else? Helen is your cousin. You misunderstood her, so you should personally apologize. If you apologize, Helen might speak on behalf of the family in front of Miss Cox. You said it yourself, Helen is now close to Sue. And who is Sue? She's the CEO of NextGen City. Thirty billion is nothing to her."

Chloe pondered, 'Could it really be a misunderstanding between Larry and Helen?'

It made sense. Larry and Helen had only known each other for a day. It was impossible for anything inappropriate to have happened.

"I'll try." Chloe took out her phone and called Helen.

She put it on speaker. "Helen, it's me, Chloe."

"Oh, Chloe. I'm busy right now. What's up?"

"About what happened before, I misunderstood you and Larry. We know we were wrong. How about this, we'll book a table at Pavilion Restaurant and apologize to you in person."

"Chloe, I've told you that there's really nothing between Larry and me. I'm not that kind of shameless person." Helen's voice came through the phone.

"I believe you. But could you bring Miss Cox along? Today's incident was our fault, and we want to apologize to her in person."

"Alright, I'll ask. But Miss Cox is very busy handling a lot of things every day. I can't guarantee she'll come."

"Thank you so much."

"Wait for my call."

Helen hung up.

The family members all heard the conversation and breathed a sigh of relief.

In their view, if Helen intervened, the matter should be resolved because Sue wasn't someone who lacked money. Thirty billion was nothing to her.

"Chloe, thank you so much this time." Victor finally showed a smile on his old face.

Maria could also hold her head high, proudly saying, "Helen is part of our family. Now that she works at the Epoch Group, getting the Lewis Family into the Trade Center is just a matter of her word."

"Yes, Maria is right."

"This time, we owe it all to Helen."

The family members were all flattering and pleasing Maria.

Larry suddenly said, "Don't get too happy too soon. You held a birthday banquet at the Imperial Residence without permission, which angered Miss Cox. Getting her forgiveness won't be that easy."

Speaking of the Imperial Residence, Chloe glanced at Larry.

"Larry, is the Imperial Residence owned by Sue?"

"Yes."

"You took me to stay at the Imperial Residence for ten days. What is your relationship with Sue? Did you arrange for Helen to work at the Epoch Group?"
