Chapter 82 Free Access
Free King sighed in relief.
He had investigated Larry's situation.
Although Larry had a bad temper, he never harmed innocent people; those he hurt were all despicable individuals.
Dozens of deaths, all of whom deserved it.
Free King could easily cover it up.
"This is the last time." He stood up and left.
After Free King left, Larry didn't stay long either. He greeted Frank and then left Mortal Clinic, returning to Chloe's house.
By the time he got home, it was already past 8:00 p.m..
Chloe was already back.
As soon as Larry walked in, Maria started yelling, "Where have you been all day? Aren't you going to cook?"
Larry walked into the house and explained, "I ran into an old comrade and chatted for a while, lost track of time."
"Mom..." Chloe stood up in time and said, "Mom, he's my husband, not a housekeeper. Larry doesn't have to cook every day."
"If he's spending our money, then Larry should cook and serve me." Maria raised her voice.
Ever since Chloe started dressing up, her full charm was on display.
The more Maria looked at Larry, the more she disliked him.
She was determined to make Chloe divorce Larry.
Larry didn't say anything.
He walked over and sat down on the couch.
Maria scolded, "Don't just sit there, go wash the dishes and clean the kitchen."
Larry stood up and went to the kitchen to wash the dishes.
Chloe looked aggrieved. "Mom..."
"You don't respect me as your mother," Maria said with a disappointed look, "If you respected me, you would listen to me."
Chloe wisely kept quiet.
Meanwhile, Sam was lying on the couch, and Mindy was applying ice to his face. Because he was beaten black and blue yesterday, the swelling hadn't completely gone down yet.
Sam said, "Mom, Chloe must divorce Larry. At Kelly's birthday party today, I heard a lot of big shots were flattering Chloe. The scene was so impressive, dozens of people kneeling to Chloe. It's all over WhatsApp now, it was shocking."
"Yes." Mindy agreed. "Chloe is very beautiful. Larry is just a soldier, even if he knows some medical skills, it doesn't matter. This is Sunset City, Pharma City, there are plenty of people who know medicine. Not everyone can become Dr. Rogers."
Mindy and Sam were in sync.
"Shut up," Chloe said impatiently, glancing at the two.
Sam turned over and sat up, persuading, "Chloe, Mr. Harper is great, young and wealthy. The key is, Mr. Harper is also handsome. Being with him is much better than being with this loser Larry."
Chloe didn't want to argue with her family.
She got up and went to the kitchen to help Larry.
Larry was being bossed around in the Lewis family, and she felt bad about it.
She walked into the kitchen and saw Larry wearing an apron, washing dishes. She said with an apologetic look on her face, "Larry, I'm sorry. You go rest, I'll do it..."
"No, Chloe, your health is precious. You shouldn't be doing this kind of work. You go rest, I'll do it..."
"I'm human too."
"Still no, go out, I'll do it. There's so much grease in the kitchen."
Larry's hands were wet, so he didn't push Chloe with his hands. Instead, he used his body to nudge her out of the kitchen.
Chloe had no choice but to leave.
She went back to the living room.
The family started reproving Chloe again.
This made her very unhappy. "Mom, have you forgotten who took you to the military district to give you dignity, and who cured me? Didn't you approve of Larry before? You even wanted to give him money to open a clinic. Why have you changed your mind now?"
Maria said, "That was then, this is now. In any case, you must divorce."
Chloe was speechless and didn't want to deal with Maria. She got up and went back to her room.
After washing the dishes and tidying up the kitchen, Larry came out with a bright smile. "Maria, everything's clean. If there's nothing else, I'll go rest in the room."
"Go ahead." Maria looked impatient.
Seeing Chloe now and then looking at Larry, Maria felt angry.
Larry went back to the room.
Chloe was sitting in front of the computer, designing clothes.
Larry didn't understand it and didn't disturb her. He quietly took a blanket, laid it on the floor, and lay down.
Then he looked at the focused Chloe, with a smile on his face that even he didn't notice.
On the next day, Sam's car, which had been hit, was taken to the auto shop for repairs and was ready. Today he needed to drive it and handle some follow-up procedures, like buying insurance.
Naturally, Maria's family had to go with him.
Before leaving, Maria asked, "Larry, can you drive?"
Larry nodded. "Yes."
Maria tossed him a car key and instructed, "Helen is coming back today. You take Sam's Honda to pick her up."
Larry scratched his head. "Who is Helen?"
Chloe explained, "My cousin, Helen. She just graduated from college, interned out of town for a while, and plans to develop in Sunset City."
As she spoke, Chloe handed Larry a photo. "This is Helen. I've already called her and sent her your photo. She'll arrive at the airport around 11:00 a.m.. Don't be late. I'll send you Helen's phone number later."
Larry asked, "What are you doing today?"
Chloe said, "Kelly said she's going to sign a contract with the Trade Center today, to move into the Trade Center. She's taking me to see the big scene. I plan to go and learn."
Larry nodded.
He felt at ease that Chloe was with Kelly.
Kelly knew his identity and would definitely respect and even flatter Chloe.
The family went out.
Seeing that it was still early, Larry didn't rush out. After freshening up, he strolled out, went to the underground parking lot, and drove Sam's car to the airport.
When he arrived at the airport, it was still early, so he took a nap in the car.
Over an hour later, a young woman in a white casual short-sleeve shirt, denim short skirt, pulling a suitcase, and sucking on a lollipop walked out of the airport.
She was in her early twenties, with a slim face, long blonde hair, a curvy figure, and a pair of long, fair legs that caught people's attention.
She walked out of the airport, looked around, then took out her phone and dialed a number.
Larry was napping in the car when his phone suddenly rang.
He took a look and saw it was the number Chloe had sent.
He knew Helen had arrived and answered the call.
"Helen, are you here?"
"Yes, Larry, where are you? I don't see you."
"I'm in the parking area outside the airport."
"I'm at the airport entrance, come over quickly."
Just as Larry hung up, a BMW pulled up next to Helen.
The man driving the BMW X5 was named Ulysses Young.
The car window rolled down, and Ulysses stuck his head out, smiled at Helen standing by the roadside, and beckoned with his finger. "Hey, are you here for a trip to Sunset City? Haven't found a hotel yet? I booked a presidential suite at a five-star hotel. Get in, I'll take you there. How about two thousand dollars?"
Larry raised an eyebrow and immediately cursed, "Get lost."
Ulysses' face darkened.
He often came to the airport, looking for opportunities with beautiful women from out of town.
Seeing Ulysses driving a BMW and hearing about a five-star hotel presidential suite, plus the two thousand dollars, even respectable women would be tempted by the money.
"Six thousand dollars." Ulysses, with a stern face, quoted a number.
He looked Helen up and down.
With her looks and figure, Ulysses was eager to get Helen.
Seeing Helen unmoved, Ulysses spoke again, "Ten thousand dollars."
Ulysses looked smug.
Ten thousand dollars was definitely tempting for most people.
In fact, Ulysses' car was rented, and the presidential suite was a lie.
As long as someone got in the car, they would be drugged. Ulysses would then take them to a rental house, assault them, take photos, blackmail them, and then send them to a brothel to make money.
