Chapter 88 Tears of Joy
Helen was just saying it casually. She didn't have much hope.
In her mind, even if Howard knew Larry when they were kids, he was now a general, standing at the peak.
Howard was just a subordinate of Free King. Even if he agreed to Larry's request, he couldn't persuade Free King to take a photo with her.
However, hearing Larry's words, she beamed. "Really?"
Larry smiled and said, "Of course, I was a soldier once too. Seeing how much you like soldiers, I'll find a way to help you."
"Larry, that's great, thank you."
Helen became excited.
Free King was one of the Five Great Marshals.
Even if he was not the one she admired the most, just being able to take a photo with Free King would make her life complete.
Larry glanced at the rearview mirror.
The jeep behind was still following.
He knew Free King was still having people follow him.
After her excitement, Helen calmed down and looked dejected. "Larry, you're just teasing me. Even if you knew Mr. Cruz when you were kids, he might help you with ordinary favors, but he can't possibly get his superior to take a photo with me."
Larry smiled. "Let's give it a try."
He turned the car around and headed towards the military district.
Soon, they arrived at the entrance of the Sunset City military district.
"Larry, you're just going straight to the military district?" Helen asked with a puzzled look, "Without even notifying Mr. Cruz, can we really see Free King?"
"Let's try our luck." Larry gave a mysterious smile.
He parked the car to the side.
He knew that Free King must already know he was here. Because Free King had always been having people follow him.
Sure enough, a few minutes later, a middle-aged man in a military uniform with five stars on his shoulder walked out.
He had round face, thick eyebrows and big eyes, exuding an imposing and unparalleled aura.
Seeing Free King walking over, Helen was so excited she almost stopped breathing.
Larry opened the car door and called her to get out.
Free King walked over, glanced at Larry, and frowned slightly.
Helen also got out of the car, standing in front of Free King with a nervous expression.
This was Free King, who was even more imposing than on TV.
Helen held her breath.
Larry said calmly, "This is my cousin Helen, she's a big military fan and really admires you. She wants to take a photo with you, is that okay?"
Free King frowned, thinking, 'What is this Black Dragon up to?'
He glanced at Helen.
With just one look, Helen's heart almost stopped, her mind went blank, and she was at a loss.
Seeing Free King, she was dumbfounded and didn't even hear what Larry said.
Larry nudged the stunned Helen. "What are you standing there for? Go take the photo."
Helen came to her senses and cautiously looked at Free King. "Can... can I really do that?"
Free King, with a kind and friendly demeanor, said, "Yes, of course."
Hearing this, Helen was so excited she almost cried. She quickly took out her phone and handed it to Larry. "Larry, you... you help me."
She was so excited and thrilled that she almost dropped her phone.
Larry took it and opened the camera.
Helen then walked towards Free King and stood beside him.
Larry held the phone and instructed, "Get closer."
Helen wanted to do that, but she didn't dare.
Free King then took the initiative to get a bit closer to Helen.
He believed as long as it made Larry happy and kept Larry out of trouble, he could relax. Taking a photo was no big deal.
Larry said, "Free King, don't keep a straight face, smile. Also, put your arm around Helen's shoulder and show a loving expression."
Hearing this, Free King wanted to get angry but held it in and did as Larry instructed.
Helen only felt a pair of strong hands on her shoulders.
At this moment, her heart almost stopped, and her breathing almost ceased.
"Done." Before Helen could react, Larry called out.
Free King removed his hand from Helen's shoulder, walked over to Larry, and said, "This is a military district, come less often, no, don't come at all."
The underlying meaning of Free King's words was for Larry to come less often and cause less trouble for him.
After speaking, he got into a military vehicle, and drove away under Helen's astonished gaze.
It took a long time for Helen to react. She gasped for air and hurriedly rushed to Larry's side, snatching the phone from his hand. "Let me see."
She opened the photo album and saw a photo.
In the photo, Free King had his hand on her shoulder, looking kind, almost like a father.
Helen burst into tears.
After so many years, she finally fulfilled her wish.
Free King, the commander of the Western Territory, one of the Five Great Marshals.
Today, she finally got her wish and took a photo with him.
Helen squatted on the ground and cried out loud.
These were tears of joy.
Larry frowned, thinking, 'Just for a photo, is this really necessary?'
Larry said, "Alright, this is a military district, we should leave quickly before someone points a gun at our heads."
Hearing this, Helen came to her senses, wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, and quickly got into the car.
Larry then drove back.
On the way, Helen looked at the photo of her and Free King. Seeing Free King's hand on her shoulder, and his kind expression, she almost cried again.
After a long time, she turned to Larry. "Larry, thank you. Now I believe you are Black Dragon."
Only someone of the same rank as Free King could get him to take a photo with her.
"Black Dragon? You really have an imagination." Larry pouted.
Helen asked, "Didn't you say it yourself? And if you're not Black Dragon, why did Free King come out as soon as we arrived at the military district and even took a photo with me?"
Larry said, "I told you, we were trying our luck. Free King taking a photo with you doesn't mean I'm Black Dragon. It just shows that Free King is more approachable, it has nothing to do with me."
"That's true." Helen nodded thoughtfully.
She thoughtit carefully,. 'Larry couldn't possibly be Black Dragon. If he were Black Dragon, he wouldn't be a son-in-law in the Lewis family, being ordered around.
'Maybe, as Larry said, Free King is approachable, and as long as a military fan asks for a photo, he would agree.'
"Don't tell Chloe about today, and don't mention it to anyone else," Larry reminded.
Helen nodded.
However, Helen thought of something else.
She thought, 'When Free King took office, Larry drove in and out of the military district freely.
'Although there are rumors that Larry borrowed the car, but today's encounter with Howard, and Larry bringing me to the military district to take a photo with Free King.
'This seems...'
Helen glanced at Larry. "Larry, I feel like your identity is not ordinary. Be honest with me, who are you really? Don't worry, I won't tell Chloe or anyone else."
Larry smiled. "I don't have any special identity, I just came back after serving in the military."
'Something's not right.' Helen pondered.
Although Helen wasn't in Sunset City, she had heard about things happening there, especially things involving Chloe.
Even yesterday, she heard about some big shots kneeling and apologizing to Chloe.
Rumor had it that this was related to the masked man Free King executed.
The masked man was someone Chloe saved ten years ago, who had asked these big shots to help Chloe if she ever faced difficulties.
Helen thought it couldn't be that simple.
'Could it be because of Larry?' she thought to herself.
The more she thought about it, the more it seemed likely.
At this thought Helen's eyes were filled with admiration. "Larry, don't worry, I won't reveal your identity."
Larry rolled his eyes. "I don't have any special identity."
Helen smiled. "You're from Southwild, you must be some general. Larry, if you get the chance, you must introduce me to Black Dragon."
