Chapter 451 The King's Intention

Otto had been chasing after Paisley for quite a while now.

He often found himself at the Bennett Mansion.

Even though things were a bit tense among the Four Great Families, it didn't seem to affect the younger generation's interactions. Despite the Powell family teaming up with the Morgan and Nelson families to put pressure on the Bennett family soon, Otto from the Morgan family still showed up at the Bennett's place.

Otto shot a cold glare at Larry.

Paisley stood protectively in front of Larry, which clearly annoyed Otto.

"Larry, if you're a real man, come over here and fight me fair and square."

"Larry, don't pay attention to him," Paisley whispered.

Larry had no intention of clashing with Otto. He knew Otto was strong, having at least cultivated Qi.

He tried to walk around Otto and Paisley.

"Hold it."

Otto moved quickly, blocking Larry's path with his hand, his face darkening. "Are you scared? If you are, crawl under my legs, and I'll let you go today."

He spread his legs wide.

"Otto, don't push it," Paisley said, her face stern. "Grandpa told me to protect Larry. If you keep this up, I'll have to take action against you."

"Paisley, you're willing to fight me for the Bennett family's criminal?" Otto said, looking hurt. "I've been so devoted to you, and this is how you treat me."

"I have a duty. If you want Larry to fight you, go ask Grandpa. If he agrees, I won't stop you."

Paisley didn't want to completely fall out with Otto, so she brought up Cody.

Sure enough, at the mention of Cody, Otto lost his confidence.

"Don't try to scare me with Grandpa," Sirius stepped in. "Otto, go ahead and beat this guy up. If Grandpa blames you, I'll take the heat."

With Sirius's assurance, Otto felt more confident.

His face darkened, and he cracked his knuckles, reaching out to grab Larry and throw him to the ground.

But his hand was stopped by Paisley.

Paisley blocked his arm and countered with a palm strike to Otto's chest, sending him stumbling back, blood trickling from his mouth.

"You... you..."

He pointed at Paisley.

Paisley said coldly, "I've held back. If you keep pushing, I won't be so kind."

"Paisley, you'll regret stopping me," Sirius shouted.

Paisley ignored him and turned to Larry. "Larry, let's go."

"Okay."

Larry nodded and walked away.

Sirius yelled, "Larry, don't think that just because Grandpa has your back, I won't do anything to you. Just wait, I'll get you sooner or later."

Larry had already left the Bennett Mansion courtyard.

Outside the courtyard, Paisley said softly, "Larry, don't let it get to you."

Larry smiled faintly.

For the past ten years, he had forgotten what fear was.

But he knew he wasn't as strong as others right now, so he chose to endure, at least not to suffer losses.

"When I cultivate Qi again, I'll teach those arrogant guys a lesson."

"Ah."

Paisley sighed and said no more.

After leaving the Bennett Mansion, Larry went straight to the military district branch.

Since he was captured, Frank and the Black Dragon Army had been waiting for him.

When Larry returned safely, the thousand-strong Black Dragon Army at the military district branch rejoiced. Frank, upon hearing of Larry's return, rushed out of the military district building and gave Larry a bear hug.

"Haha, boss, you're back! I thought you were dead after being captured by the Powell family."

"Get off me," Larry scolded.

"Hehe," Frank chuckled, then looked at the stunningly beautiful Paisley, who looked like an angel, and asked, "By the way, who's this?"

"Larry said, "Paisley, from the Bennett family."

"Boss, I've noticed that ever since you divorced Chloe, you've been surrounded by one beauty after another."

Hearing this, Paisley's face turned red, and she quickly clarified, "Don't talk nonsense. He's my brother."

"Oh, a brother," Frank realized his mistake and quickly changed the subject. "Boss, what are your plans now?"

Larry said, "I'm planning to head back to Sunset City. You go back to Southwild. Southwild needs you to hold the fort. There are also traitors among the generals in Southwild. Investigate them for me, but don't act rashly. Once you find out, report to me. After I finish my business in Sunset City, I'll return to Southwild to deal with the traitors."

"Uh? Who do you suspect?"

"I'm not sure, but this person has significant power and knows my whereabouts. Investigate everyone you can, but be careful."

"Got it," Frank nodded.

Larry instructed, "Prepare a private jet for me. I'm heading back to Sunset City immediately."

"Yes, I'll get it ready right away."

Frank left promptly.

Soon, the private jet to Sunset City was ready.

But before Larry could board the plane, Shadow appeared.

Shadow glanced at Paisley, who was with Larry, and smiled. "Looks like you're being treated well at the Bennett family. Cody even sent Paisley to protect you."

Larry looked at Shadow and said, "This time, you really set me up. I almost didn't make it out alive."

Shadow said, "It seems you've learned a lot in the past few days."

Larry smiled, "How could I not? With all the commotion and so many forces involved, it's hard not to know. And King didn't step in to protect me. Is he planning to abandon me? If it weren't for the Bennett family, I wouldn't have made it out this time."

Larry's smile was cold.

Shadow looked awkward and said, "Larry, you have to understand, as the head of an army and the Dragon King, wielding the Execution Sword, it's your duty to eliminate those who can't be judged or convicted by the law. This is your mission and responsibility. You shouldn't complain. From King's perspective, he has to consider the bigger picture."

Larry knew this, of course.

He wasn't really angry; otherwise, he wouldn't be talking to Shadow like this.

Moreover, Alistair had indeed caused him a lot of trouble. Even if King had stopped him from killing Alistair, he would have found a way to eliminate the threat.

"By the way, did King send you with any instructions?"

Shadow said, "Cody has informed many forces to protect you, which shows that the Bennett family values you highly. You could even become the head of the Bennett family. King has a plan..."

He glanced at Paisley.

Paisley, understanding the hint, said, "I'll take a walk over there."

She turned and left.

Larry asked, "What's the plan?"

Shadow whispered, "Since Cody values you so much, you can use this opportunity to rise to power within the Bennett family, take control, and then find a way to eliminate Cody. Become the head of the Bennett family, and then unite the Bennett family's forces to eliminate families and forces that threaten the country, bringing peace to the land."

"Heh!"

Larry chuckled, "King really dares to think big. From a national standpoint, I should do this for the country and the people. But if I do, I'll be the Bennett family's traitor."

Shadow reminded him, "Don't forget, your grandfather and father both died at Cody's hands."

"I know what to do. You can go now."

Larry hadn't forgotten.

He didn't immediately agree with Shadow.

"Think it over. I'll head back."

Shadow turned and left.

After he left, Paisley returned but didn't ask anything. Instead, she asked, "When are we heading to Sunset City?"

"Right away."

Larry didn't want to stay in Aurora Citadel any longer.

Aurora Citadel was a place of intrigue and conflict, where one could easily be schemed against if not careful.
