Chapter 234 Conspiracy
Orion was grinning like a cat that got the cream.
Larry, that jerk, messed up his good thing. If he didn't trash Larry's rep, all his hard work would go down the drain.
"Y'all are talking crap!" Chloe jumped up to defend Larry. "My husband ain't like that. How could he be raising venomous snakes?"
"Chloe, you don't get it."
"Yeah, how long you been married to Larry? Do you even know what kind of guy he is?"
A bunch of folks shot back at Chloe.
Abigail, feeling a bit more awake, managed to get up from the table and plop down on a chair. She spoke weakly, “I believe Larry wouldn't raise venomous snakes. This is just a freak accident."
Larry glanced at Abigail, a look of appreciation in his eyes. This woman, though a bit bossy, wasn't that dumb.
Orion was getting jittery.
"Abigail, don't let him fool you. This is a venomous snake, and its toxin needs special methods to detox. Plus, it needs specific meds for effective treatment. A few silver needles ain't gonna cut it. Even my teacher Octavius ain't that good. Don't trust him just 'cause you're Chloe's friend."
Larry shot him a look and said coolly, “Just 'cause you haven't seen it doesn't mean it ain't real. You're just dumb."
Orion glared at Larry, a flash of resentment in his eyes. He signaled to a guy next to him. The guy got the hint and immediately took off.
Orion kept going, "Abigail, can't you see this is Chloe and Larry's plan to show off?"
He looked around at the crowd and shouted, “Everyone knows Larry's a loser, yet Chloe still brought him here. The purpose is clear: to show off and make everyone think Larry's got skills."
"In my opinion, Lysander and Visionary during the day were all paid off by Chloe to help Larry show off."
Hearing this, everyone finally got it.
"No, it's not like that." Chloe kept trying to explain.
Larry, though, couldn't be bothered. Was it really necessary to show off?
What kind of people were these, to even think of such nonsense?
"Chloe, let's bounce." Larry didn't want to waste any more breath.
"You still wanna leave?" Orion blocked their way, saying coldly, “Now that you've been exposed, you wanna bail."
Larry looked at him and said, "What do you want?"
He could pretty much tell it was Orion who was raising the venomous snake. But without proof, he kept quiet. Now, he was being framed by Orion.
Orion shouted loudly, “Everyone, Larry must be raising venomous snakes. If you don't believe it, let's search his room. If we don't find anything, I'll kneel and apologize to him. But if we find a venomous snake in his room, you know what that means, right?"
Hearing this, Larry felt a bad vibe. He had seen someone quietly leave from Orion's side earlier.
If he wasn't mistaken, someone was probably heading to his room to plant a venomous snake. He had been careless, not thinking of such a simple framing tactic.
"Fine." Chloe wasn't scared at all. But Larry frowned.
Seeing Larry's expression, Orion said coldly, “You scared?"
Sitting in the chair, Abigail also looked at Larry with suspicion, thinking, 'Could it really be him raising the venomous snake?'
"Larry, what are you afraid of?"
Larry turned to look at Abigail and shrugged. At this point, he had nothing to say and could only go back to his room and let them search. As for whether they would find a venomous snake, he wasn't sure.
"Let's go."
A group of people headed back to the hotel. Abigail was also helped along. They quickly arrived at the room.
Larry swiped the room card and flicked on the light.
A bunch of folks piled in. As soon as Larry stepped inside, he noticed something off. A small golden box was now sitting on the table, which definitely wasn't there when he left.
"Don't move," Orion barked as he walked in.
Larry stood aside, feeling pretty helpless. Orion led some people to search the room.
Pretending to search, they finally opened the golden box on the table under everyone's watchful eyes. As soon as it was opened, a small golden venomous snake sprang out.
A bunch of girls screamed in fright.
But Orion, knowing the deal, boldly grabbed the snake from the ground and smashed it against the wall. Then he rushed over, stomped on it a few times until it was dead, and then tossed it in front of Larry.
"Larry, what the hell is this?"
Chloe also looked at Larry, "What is this?"
She remembered that when they left, there was no box on the table. How did it appear when they came back?
"So it really was Larry."
"He's really shady."
“That snake could kill someone. How cruel is that!"
Some classmates started scolding, while also keeping their distance from Larry and Chloe.
Abigail, being helped, looked at Larry and Chloe with confusion and misunderstanding on her face, "Chloe, do you want me dead? What did I do to you?"
"Abigail, let me explain. It's not what you think. I don't know what's going on," Chloe hurriedly explained.
"Forget it," Abigail said coldly, "Chloe, I've always thought of you, hoping you'd find a good partner, but you and Larry teamed up to harm me. If it weren't for Orion, I would have been fooled by you two."
Orion came over and chimed in, "Abigail, be careful when making friends in the future. Don't be nice to everyone. People like Chloe and Larry aren't worth your time."
Abigail looked at the two of them with disappointment, snorted, and turned to leave.
Other classmates kept criticizing, throwing shade at Larry and Chloe.
Chloe was so upset she was about to cry. After everyone left, she burst into tears.
“Why did this happen?"
Larry walked over, patted her on the shoulder, and tried to comfort her, “It's a small thing. Don't sweat it."
Larry didn't care much about what others thought.
“But this is a setup. I'm really upset."
Larry reassured her, “It's okay. I'll get to the bottom of this soon."
Larry didn't explain because he really didn't know how to. This was his room with only one room card, which was in his hand.
And the snake was indeed found in his room. Without evidence, no matter how he explained, no one would believe him.
After leaving Larry's room, Orion started pretending to care about Abigail.
“Abigail, how are you feeling now? Is your head still dizzy? I don't trust Larry. Even though he helped you detox, I think we shouldn't trust him. For safety, how about I take you to my room for a full check-up?"
Abigail's head was still a bit dizzy. She was also worried that the toxin hadn't been completely removed, so she nodded and said, "Okay."
Hearing this, Orion's lips curled into a sinister smile.
As long as Abigail went to his room, he could find any excuse to make her take some medicine.
Once she took the medicine, she would have to listen to him. Afterwards, he could take videos, and she wouldn't dare to say anything.
He could even use the videos to blackmail her and keep her around. Thinking of this, he felt very pleased with himself.
