Chapter 16 Make Him Unable to Resist You

Lydia was taken aback. "No? Then what about the red mark on your neck..."
Before she could finish her sentence, her eyes widened. "Are you involved with that woman, Fiona, again? Did she leave that mark on your neck? Are you trying to infuriate me? Let me tell you, whether it's in the past or now, I will never agree to you being with her!"
If she had another pillow on the bed, she would definitely throw again at him.
Zachary instinctively touched his neck. "You misunderstood."
Without going into details, he furrowed his brow and headed to the bathroom.
Downstairs, Winona walked out of the hospital under the scorching sun. Rebecca sent her a message, inviting her to have dinner together in the evening.
Since it was still early and she didn't need to go to the studio, she decided to go to the supermarket and buy some essential items.
After work, Rebecca drove over to pick her up. "I closed a big deal today. Let me take you out to celebrate, to celebrate you finally getting rid of that scumbag Zachary!"
Winona jokingly replied, "If your dad hears this, he might beat you to death."
That man was Zachary, who controlled a large part of New York's economy. He was a renowned newcomer in the business world. Who would dare to offend him? If Zachary were to hear Rebecca's words, even the antique shop would be at risk, let alone the Davis Group.
"I'm just saying it in front of you. You still don't know me well enough."
When they arrived at the restaurant, Winona looked at the dazzling lights in front of the upscale club and couldn't believe it. "Is this what you call having a good meal?"
The Night Club was the most high-end club in New York. It had high prices and various entertainments, but the food inside was famously bland. However, people didn't come here for the food.
"A six-figure bill isn't good enough? Let's celebrate tonight without inhibitions! I've always been unable to bear your ascetic lifestyle. It's amazing that you've held on for three years. Zachary used to come here often, but this time it's our turn to enjoy!"
Winona had lived a celibate life during her marriage years, focusing only on her company and home. She was indeed very different from the carefree person she used to be before marriage.
As the waiter led the way, Rebecca noticed that Winona seemed unenthusiastic the whole way, thinking that she was sad about the divorce. "If you feel down, go ahead and cry later. There's no one else here tonight, and I won't make fun of you."
Winona didn't want to cry. The main reason she felt down was that nothing was achieved today. It was precisely because they didn't get divorced that she felt this way, coupled with Lydia's situation, which made her constantly preoccupied.
She murmured softly, "We didn't get divorced."
The noise in the club was too loud, and Rebecca didn't hear clearly. "What?" she asked.
"I didn't get divorced from Zachary today."
Rebecca fell silent instantly after hearing clearly. After a while, she asked uncertainly, "Do you not want to get divorced?"
Rebecca had witnessed the affection between Winona and Zachary. Although he was indifferent to her after their marriage, he never mistreated her financially. It was he who pulled her out of the abyss when Winona was forced into a corner.
Women were more sentimental and would develop special feelings for a man who had saved them.
Besides, they had been married for three years.
Winona remained silent for a long time, not because she didn't want to get divorced. On the contrary, she was resolute about it. However, the events of today couldn't be easily explained.
Rebecca continued in her self-assured manner, "If you don't want to get divorced, find a reason not to! Or confide in your mother-in-law, keep him tied down. Considering how much your mother-in-law likes you, if she finds out what Zachary did, she'll definitely break his legs!"
Winona couldn't help but laugh at her vivid imagination and was curious to hear what else she had to say.
"And then?"
"Then continue to ignore him. Men are despicable creatures. The more you neglect him, the more he will view you as a rare treasure! Look at Fiona, she played the game of tit for tat so well. If you could learn a thing or two from her, Zachary wouldn't be able to escape your grasp!"
As they talked, the two of them entered a private room.
Not far away, a man overheard their conversation and instructed the waiter at the corner of the corridor, "Go to the third floor."
The Night Club represented a class system, with membership cards reflecting social status. Based on Samuel Anderson's identity, he should have gone to the top floor. However... what made him coincidentally see his good friend's wife here?
Moreover, he noticed several malicious individuals in the club, watching them.
Samuel dialed Zachary's phone. "Hey, your wife is at the Night Club."
Zachary was currently dropping Fiona off at the entrance of her residential complex. She had heard the news that Lydia was hospitalized and went to visit her personally. However, Lydia ridiculed and insulted him, driving him out of the ward.
Receiving this call now, Zachary furrowed his eyebrows and asked, "What is she doing there?"
"She's discussing how to play the game of tit for tat with you, to keep you hanging and unable to resist! She also mentioned having your mother keep you back, preventing you from divorcing her."
Zachary squinted his eyes, his gaze becoming calm and unfathomable.
Samuel didn't say much, he just reported the room number and hung up.
"Zachary, what's wrong?" Fiona noticed his change in mood after the call. The atmosphere in the car visibly froze.
Shaking his head, Zachary didn't answer. After stopping the car, he said, "You go up by yourself. Your wounds haven't healed yet, so don't rush to dance."
"Zachary," Fiona bit her lip, "Are you still blaming me for mentioning Matthew in front of Winona yesterday?"
Zachary frowned, lowered his head and lit a cigarette. As the smoke dispersed, it covered his current expression. "No, just don't provoke her again."
"Did I provoke her? I only mentioned a name, and she physically attacked me. Are you spoiling her too much?" Her voice gradually became louder, carrying a hint of resentment.
After finishing a cigarette, Zachary casually snuffed it out. "I have something to attend to, if you need any compensation for yesterday's incident, feel free to ask."
Fiona looked at him, her eyes turning red with anger. "You want to compensate her? What right do you have to compensate her? She's the one who started the fight, and she should be the one to apologize..."
In the end, she lowered her voice and sighed, "Alright, you want to compensate her? Then divorce her and marry me!"
Zachary glanced at her, "You don't want your position as lead dancer anymore?"
Fiona had joined a dance troupe that ranked in the top three worldwide, and the position of lead dancer was coveted by many.
That one sentence silenced her and made her understand his bottom line.
Zachary felt bored, tapping his fingers impatiently on the steering wheel. "Get out of the car."
"Zachary, I..."
He turned his head. In the dark night, his pitch-black eyes were as cold as freezing water that could turn someone rigid. "You know I'm not patient. Don't make me say it a second time."
Twenty minutes later, when Zachary arrived at the Night Club, he coincidentally saw several male attendants walking into the private room where Winona was located.
Through the slightly ajar door, he could catch a glimpse of the woman's face, particularly flushed and captivating due to alcohol...
