Chapter 415 Calling Your Name

When Winona woke up, everything was a blur, and the strong smell of disinfectant hit her nose hard. After a quick nap, she felt way better; the pounding headache she had was gone.

The daylight filtering through the window cast a stark, blinding light on the hospital floor. Without seeing Rebecca, Winona got out of bed, casually running her fingers through her hair.

It was only when she raised her hand that she noticed both hands were wrapped in bandages. Her exposed fingers touched her hair, feeling smooth, without any fishy smell or falling salt particles. There was even the scent of shampoo, and her body had been cleaned, without the discomfort of having been soaked in seawater. Rebecca must have cleaned her up after she passed out.

Winona went to the bathroom, grabbed her phone from the bedside table, and called Rebecca while walking out.

Suddenly, the door to the ward was flung open, slamming against the doorstop with a loud bang, making the windows rattle.

The person who stormed in was furious, taking a few steps to reach her and grabbing her hand, saying, "Winona, where is Zachary? Is he in trouble?"

It was Fiona, whom she hadn't seen in ages.

Fiona's grip left deep marks on Winona's arm. She frowned and said coldly, "Let go of me."

But Fiona tightened her grip and said with a sinister smile, "I'm asking you, is Zachary in trouble?"

"No."

Zachary was the CEO of Bailey Group. If the public found out he was missing, it would directly affect the company's stock price. This matter couldn't be disclosed for now.

"You're lying. It's been all over the place these past two days that Zachary had an accident at sea and his fate is unknown."

Fiona's lips were still moving, but Winona couldn't hear anything else she said, "What did you say?"

Seeing her expression, Fiona frowned in disgust and said with disdain, "Stop playing dumb! It's disgusting. I'm asking you, is Zachary in trouble?"

Winona didn't care if Fiona's nails would scratch her. She forcefully pulled Fiona's hand off her arm and ran out of the ward.

Could it be that two days had already passed since Zachary's accident?

Fiona came to the hospital to question her, so it had been two days, and there was still no news of Zachary?

"Are you running so fast to collect his body?" Fiona looked at her disheveled back with smug satisfaction, saying, "I advise you not to waste your effort. Even the Bailey Family couldn't find him. His body might have already been eaten by sharks."

Normally, Winona would have mocked her, but now, she didn't have the time to waste on her.

However, Fiona did not intend to let her off easily. It was the first time Fiona had seen such a panicked expression on Winona's face, more exciting than her first time on an international stage.

She was very sad about Zachary's death, but then she thought, she couldn't have that man anyway, so what difference did it make if he was dead or alive? Dead was even better.

If she couldn't have him, then Winona shouldn't either. If he was dead, she wouldn't have to keep torturing herself with thoughts that she might just become Mrs. Bailey if she had just tried a little harder.

Every time she thought about it, she was consumed by a storm of resentment. She even began to regret going abroad, thinking that if she had stayed by his side, maybe everything would have been different.

But deep down, she knew the truth. Zachary had never denied she was his girlfriend when asked, but he had never admitted it either. Their relationship was far from a normal romance. There was no way they could have been together.

Fiona quickly caught up with Winona, raising her chin arrogantly before saying, "Do you know Zachary has a scar on his leg?"

At this moment, she was like a high and mighty princess, looking at Winona as if she were a drowning dog.

Winona didn't stop, pressing her lips together without responding.

She knew Zachary had a scar on his leg. She had felt it a few times before and had wanted to ask him how he got it, but she just forgot about it because she was always in a semi-dazed state after making love.

Fiona continued, "The scar was from the bumper of the car that hit him when he fought with the thug who bullied you."

The more pain on Winona's face, the more excited Fiona became.

"He started being nice to me from that night because he felt guilty. He thought he owed me because he held me back, which led to my dad having an accident while looking for me."

She curled her lips and said calmly, "But that night, he called your name. I don't expect that he could be so passionate in private."

She mercilessly provoked Winona, saying, "This is retribution."

As soon as she finished saying, she was slapped hard. Rebecca, carrying a hot water bottle, had just come out of the water room and saw Fiona bothering Winona in the hallway. "Fiona, why do you keep haunting Winona?"

Fiona raised her hand to slap back, but Rebecca caught her hand and gave her another hard slap as she said, "You're always spreading rumors and causing trouble all day."

Knowing that Zachary's fate was uncertain, she still said those things to Winona. Truly malicious.

"Rebecca, are you a shrew? You are so rude. With your lack of manners, who would want to marry you? I pity the man who ends up with you. How unlucky he is."

Winona didn't try to stop them. She knew Rebecca wouldn't suffer. She needed to go to the beach now. She had to find Zachary.

"Miss Sullivan," Anthony stopped Winona after she had only taken a few steps, "Don't go. It's been two days."

He was a lawyer, accustomed to seeing the tragedies of the world, but looking into her bewildered eyes, he couldn't bring himself to say anything cruel. Even he couldn't accept it.

"The members of the Turner Family are over there. They'll notify us if there's any news."

But everyone knew that after two days without finding him, the chances were slim.

Everyone still held onto a sliver of hope, though. After all, without a body, there was still a chance. The three bodies found on the boat, one was Kyle's, and the other two were his bodyguards.
