Chapter 490 How many men are you planning to find?

Rebecca was usually pretty laid-back, but she knew how to keep her mouth shut. She didn't even hint that Zachary might be back.

She turned to the guy behind her and snapped, "Just 'cause he's missing doesn't mean he gets out of supporting his wife. The debt's still there; he can pay it back when he shows up."

The dim lighting in the room hid Rebecca's annoyance. The guy thought she was just chatting. With all the noise, it was normal to talk louder. He said, "But he's been gone so long; he's probably dead by now."

Rebecca shot back, "If he's alive, he should support his wife. If he's dead, there's a way to handle that too. If he can't make money himself, he should at least bless his wife to earn it."

The guy just stared at her, too shocked to say anything.

Seeing him gaping at her, Rebecca snapped, "What are you standing there for? Go figure out a way to make money. Supporting a wife ain't cheap these days. If you don't hustle, even the dead will outdo you."

One moment she was fierce, and the next, she was sweetly talking to Winona on the phone. "Come quick, I've already got the waiter to open the wine."

Winona replied, "Okay."

Since Zachary's incident, she hadn't been to a nightclub, avoiding even social gatherings there.

Rebecca then gave her the room number and hung up.

At the nightclub, the waiter opened the door for Winona, and she immediately spotted Rebecca in the booth. It wasn't because of her sharp eyesight, but because Rebecca was the only woman in a dark red dress among a bunch of staff in white shirts and black pants, making her stand out.

"What is this..." Winona gestured with her chin and asked, "How many guys are you planning to find?"

"It's the end of the month, and I'm helping them hit their targets," Rebecca said, pulling Winona closer. "I just went to the restroom and saw this poor guy crying in front of the mirror 'cause he missed his target and is facing a fine."

She continued, "I felt sorry for him, so I told him to bring all his team members who hadn't met their targets, and so..."

Winona was speechless and gave her a thumbs up.

Rebecca said, "So, let's drink up."

Winona responded, "Most people help meet targets by spending money. You not only spend money but also drink. Well done."

As soon as she sat down, someone crouched beside her, "Miss, let me pour you a drink."

"No need, I'll handle it myself," Winona replied, glancing at the door as she spoke. This was Zachary's territory. Even though he was still going by Nicholas, there might be people in the nightclub who knew his true identity. She didn't want to risk him showing up the moment she accepted the drink. So she instructed, "Just sit there and open the wine."

Considering that Rebecca had called them in to help meet their targets, and knowing they might not finish all the wine, Winona added, "You all should drink too."

"Thank you, gorgeous," one of them replied with a grin.

Winona smiled and turned to Rebecca, saying, "What do you do if a guy just won't open up?"

Rebecca immediately got who Winona was talking about and replied eagerly, "Sew his mouth shut! If he has a mouth but won't use it, he might as well not talk at all."Rebecca never cut Zachary any slack. Even though Winona liked him, as her best friend, Rebecca wouldn't dream of breaking them up, but she sure didn't mind stirring the pot. After all, Zachary used to be super arrogant and often left Winona feeling hurt.

Winona glanced at Rebecca, feeling a bit worried for Zachary, but then she remembered how badly she had lost her divorce battle with him, and that worry quickly faded away.

People shouldn't be too arrogant because there would always be bad times.

Rebecca leaned in and asked, "What's he hiding from you now?"

Winona replied, "He had Caleb persuade me to go back to the museum to restore artifacts, but he never mentioned it to me. I only found out today when I asked Caleb."

Rebecca said, "You've known for ages that he doesn't talk much. So why dwell on it? Just attribute any random good moments to him. If you ever feel like switching partners down the line, give that credit to the new guy instead. This way, you won't have to overthink things and can just enjoy yourself."

Winona couldn't help but laugh. "You really... I don't even know how to compliment you."

In the end, they couldn't finish all the wine, so they had the waiter store it.

Both were slightly tipsy.

Rebecca linked arms with Winona and murmured, "Dating should be fun. If you're happy, stay together. If not, break up and find someone else!"

Her words were interrupted by a loud shout. "Anthony, you're not gonna die a good death! I curse you to hell!"

The name 'Anthony' hit Rebecca like a ton of bricks. The alcohol had made her a bit hazy, but she instantly sobered up as if someone had splashed her with cold water.

She turned to Winona, repeating softly as if to confirm, "Anthony..."

Winona nodded, confirming she wasn't hearing things due to the alcohol.

"Damn," Rebecca exclaimed as she grabbed Winona and took off. Winona assumed she was trying to avoid Anthony, but Rebecca was actually thrilled. "There's a show to watch, let's go!"

Winona was speechless.

The voice was close by. They rushed over and found a young woman angrily hurling insults at Anthony, spouting all kinds of harsh words.

Anthony stood across from her, attempting to leave multiple times but being repeatedly blocked by the woman. While he maintained a calm exterior, Rebecca recognized the underlying tension—he was silently weighing the woman's insults, mentally tallying them up to see which law could impose the harshest consequence.

Anthony was likely here for business, clad in a tailored suit, with a briefcase in hand and gold-rimmed glasses perched on his nose. He exuded an air of polished charm, embodying the essence of a refined scoundrel.

The woman, hoarse from shouting without any response, finally became furious and looked around.

At that moment, Anthony calmly said, "Miss Foster, I advise you to think carefully. If you resort to violence, the consequences will be severe."

The woman, in a fit of rage, ignored his words. She saw a tray with red wine on it, grabbed a bottle, and charged at Anthony with a contorted face. "Even if I die, I'm taking you with me."
