Chapter 575 Are You Here to Catch Me?

Rebecca forced a stiff smile. "It wasn't Anthony, it was me. I made the first move. He didn't agree at first, but I insisted."

She was drunk, not amnesiac. Although she couldn't recall the details of last night, she had a vague impression of what happened.

Seeing Rebecca's regretful expression, Winona felt incredibly guilty. She should have kept Rebecca at Regal Oaks last night. "So, what are you thinking now? Are you going to give it a shot with Anthony?"

"No."

Winona was surprised by Rebecca's blunt refusal. "You're really not interested in him?"

Even a slight interest would have warranted giving it a chance after what happened.

"It's not about interest," Rebecca whispered, covering her mouth and leaning close to Winona's ear. "He can't perform."

"No way," Winona said after a long pause. "Mr. Lewis has the looks and the stamina. How could he be that bad?"

He and Zachary were friends. Could it be true that birds of a feather flock together?

"It's not that he's bad; it's that he can't do it at all. I suspect he's naturally impotent. My butt hurts," Rebecca said, shifting uncomfortably. "I didn't feel anything down there."

"Did you bleed?" Winona asked.

"I don't know. When I woke up, I was lying on top of Anthony. I grabbed my shoes and left quietly, afraid of waking him. I didn't check for blood, and we were on the living room floor, which has dark tiles."

"Are you sure you had sex last night?"

"Yes..." Rebecca started confidently but then hesitated. She tried to recall, but realized she didn't have that memory. She remembered kissing him, but then what? What did she do next?

Rebecca pulled down her collar, showing Winona the marks on her neck and collarbone. "There are marks on my chest, too, and even fingerprints. It was that intense. We must have done it, right?"

Anthony was that proper? He didn't take advantage of the situation?

Winona looked at the scattered marks, opening her mouth but not knowing what to say.

Rebecca looked at her with a pained expression. "Do you think Anthony will report me for rape?"

"He probably won't. Wouldn't Anthony be the one benefiting from this? What would he gain by reporting you? Does he want more attention by playing the victim?"

"You don't know. Anthony is a freak about this stuff. If you accidentally touch him, he'll accuse you of something and tell you how many years you'd get for it. When I spread rumors about him being gay, he not only showed me pictures to explain what being gay is, but also made me say where I heard it."

Talking about Anthony's weird behavior, Rebecca couldn't stop. "He even made me identify the place where I said it. Is that normal? He says he wants to date me, but he never misses a chance to accuse me. If we were together, I'd have to keep track of every penny I spend, or he'd find some weird reason to send me to jail."

Winona laughed at her exaggerated description. "It can't be that..."

She suddenly stopped. She remembered overhearing Anthony on the phone with Zachary, mentioning he was at the police station. Could he really be reporting Rebecca for rape?

Rebecca noticed Winona's silence. "Why did you stop? Do you think he's a freak, too?"

Finding a kindred spirit, she looked particularly animated and excited.

Winona's expression stiffened. "When I came over, Mr. Lewis was at the police station. I'm not sure if he's reporting you."

"What?" Rebecca was stunned. Her first thought was whether her hot-tempered mother would kill her and feed her to the pigs if she found out. Going to court over this would make her famous for all the wrong reasons. Anthony's fame aside, the nature of this incident would shock the nation.

If the genders were reversed, the comments would exceed a hundred thousand.

The first case in the country, as shocking as a foreigner raping a baby crocodile.

Winona hesitated. "Why don't you call Mr. Lewis and ask?"

She initially thought of asking Zachary to feel out Anthony's intentions, but realized this wasn't something to make public.

Suddenly, the sound of police sirens approached from a distance. Rebecca's face scrunched up. "Are they coming to arrest me? Winona, if I go to jail, help calm my parents down, or find an excuse to send them abroad until this is over."

"Rebecca."

"I may be a bit of a mess, but I can't do something that would kill my parents..."

"Rebecca," Winona interrupted. "The police car left. It wasn't for you. Instead of worrying, why don't you call Anthony now and ask about last night? You were drunk and can't remember, but he probably wasn't."

"Should I call?"

Rebecca thought about it. Instead of living in fear, it was better to find out. If Anthony was really going to report her, she could have more time to find a good lawyer.

Rebecca's heart pounded as she dialed Anthony's number. The wait felt like an eternity, but finally, he answered. "What is it?"

"Where are you now?"

"At the police station."

Rebecca took a deep breath, holding it in her lungs for a long time. Winona almost reached out to pinch her to make her breathe. Finally, she exhaled. "What are you planning to do about last night? Let me be clear, I can compensate you. Name your price."

Anthony silently mouthed "That's it for today" to the person in front of him, then gathered his things and walked out. "Do you think I'm someone who needs money? So much that I'd sell myself for it?"

Anthony's deep voice carried a hint of amusement. Although Rebecca's words were vague, it wasn't hard to guess her meaning.

Rebecca felt mocked by Anthony. With his luxury apartment, he clearly wasn't short on money. Without that leverage, she was at a disadvantage. "What are your conditions? Tell me, and I'll try to meet them. But remember, I'm the one at a disadvantage here, so don't push it."

"Instead of thinking about compensation, think about taking responsibility. That's the attitude of someone who wants to make peace, don't you think?"

Rebecca irritably scratched her head. "So, we date? Give it a try?"

She had a plan. After some time, once she was sure he hadn't kept any evidence, she'd dump Anthony.
