Chapter 94 Mr. Bailey's DUI Rescue

Zachary's gaze on Winona's face was expressionless. "Now you don't need me to call Fiona? You're willing to endure any kind of humiliation for Matthew."

He reached out towards her, and Winona, looking at his cold and angry eyes, felt like he might strangle her.

She leaned back slightly, avoiding Zachary's touch. His hand paused in mid-air, then he closed his fingers into a tight grip. "Regarding the divorce..."

Seemingly intentionally leaving her hanging, he stopped halfway. Winona looked at him, her lips pursed tightly.

The man gazed at her with a cold and aloof expression, and a wicked smile appeared on his suave and indifferent face. "Impossible."

Winona gritted her teeth in anger.

This damn bastard!

She was already containing countless emotions, and now, being taunted by him, she completely lost control and exploded!

"Get out of the car."

Zachary nonchalantly closed his eyes. "Drive. Don't forget, you still owe me money. Even if there are no marital obligations, fulfilling your duty as a driver should be expected. Those who owe debts are more vicious than creditors. Who will dare lend you money in the future?"

Winona raised her chin and sneered, then opened the passenger door and forcefully pulled Zachary out. Logically, with a man's strength advantage and natural weight advantage, he wouldn't easily be dragged out, yet Winona managed to pull him out!

She slammed the car door shut, sat back in the driver's seat, started the car, and drove towards the entrance.

Today, she had come to attend the engagement banquet, dressed in a very thin dress.

The night wind was harsh and felt like a cold knife, scraping against the skin and causing a stinging sensation. In just a few minutes of getting out, pulling someone, and getting back in the car, her fingers had become somewhat stiff from the cold. She leaned towards the air conditioning vent for a while before warming up.

She glanced at the rearview mirror and saw that Zachary was still standing in place, his narrow, deep eyes tightly fixed on her direction.

Could he freeze to death?

As soon as this thought flashed through Winona's mind, she suppressed it. The Wood family would certainly not ignore him standing there. They had bought the villa years before, and the area had been developed, so it was not secluded.

There was a lot of traffic on the road, and Winona saw many vacant taxis when she drove out. She completely let go of her worries.

Once back in her home, the first thing Winona did was go to the bathroom to remove her makeup and take a shower. She also applied a face mask. By the time she finished, it was almost 11 o'clock.

She lay in bed, ready to spend some time on her phone before going to sleep, when Zachary's call came in.

She looked at the name displayed on the screen and hesitated for a few seconds before answering, "What's up?"

"I sent you the address via message. Come over and sign," said the person on the other end of the line. It wasn't Zachary.

She was stunned for a few seconds before realizing who it was. "Samuel?"

Winona and Samuel weren't very familiar. They had met a few times and she had heard him speak, but the voice coming from the receiver sounded different from usual, so she wasn't too sure.

The man's voice was calm and indifferent. He summarized the situation in a few sentences, "Zachary had an accident on his way back from the engagement party. The doctor needs a life-threatening notification signed by a family member. If you can't make it in twenty minutes, I'll ask the doctor to prepare consent for treatment abandonment."

Winona's mind buzzed. She hadn't even absorbed all this information yet, but she instinctively sat up from the bed. "How did the accident happen?"

"Is it strange for an accident to happen? People have accidents every minute all over the world. You just leave a drunk person there; he was drunk driving. If he didn't die on the spot, he's lucky!" Samuel told her the floor number and then hung up. Winona hurriedly changed clothes and rushed out.

A family member had to sign for the rescue; she couldn't tell Lydia about this. It had to be her. Even as she sat in the car, gripping the steering wheel, she still hadn't fully comprehended the situation.

Although Zachary smelled of alcohol, during their argument, he was in complete control and his body had seemed fine. The road from The Wood family to Regal Oaks was wide and it had few cars. Even if he was drunk driving, it shouldn't have resulted in having to sign a life-threatening notification!

Winona drove the car as fast as she could, even cutting through red lights, turning right. The steering wheel slipped a little when she turned, and she realized her palms were covered in cold sweat.

The journey that usually took over half an hour was completed in just fifteen minutes.

The room number Samuel mentioned was on the fifth floor. She rushed into the elevator, pressed the floor button, and finally had a moment to catch her breath.

Leaning against the elevator's metallic wall, Winona took large breaths and glanced at the floor indicators above.

Fifth floor - Gastroenterology.

The elevator stopped on the fifth floor, and as soon as the doors opened, Samuel was seen standing outside.

The man was dressed casually, wearing a light gray coat over a long-sleeved shirt, black trousers. The hospital's harsh white lights cast upon him, giving him an almost deathly hue as if he were being filtered through a lens.

Indeed, attractive people always mingle with the attractive, just as vile individuals only associate with their own kind.

But since they weren't close, Winona managed to suppress her anger and resisted the urge to smash his head on the spot.

Winona stepped out of the elevator with a cold face, "What's going on?"

Only now did she realize her legs were weak, and she felt completely drained.

Samuel lazily replied, "He's in room 507. I'm going back to sleep."

"But didn't you say he was in a car accident?"

The man raised an eyebrow, smirking, "Miss Sullivan, with a heart as cold as yours; if I didn't mention the car accident, would you have come?"

No way.

Not only would she not have come, she would have immediately switched off her phone and gone to sleep!

"He's having stomach pains. There's a 24-hour restaurant downstairs. Go get him some soup."

Winona was still filled with suppressed anger, and now she was being assigned a task! She couldn't help but sneer and mock, "Mr. Anderson, if you're so concerned about him, why don't you stay here and take care of him? Aren't you concerned that I will do a terrible job at taking care of him?"

Samuel lowered his head, looking at her, and anger filled her eyes. Her piercing black and white eyes became even more dazzling against her fair skin, which had a rosy tint, perhaps from the rush to get here, and she was also panting slightly. "If it weren't for Zachary back then, Miss Sullivan would probably be working in some dark coal mine corner, enjoying a completely different life. Don't you think it's time to repay the favor?"

For him to say this much was already quite tactful.

But women who were sold didn't have the luck to work in a coal mine like her!

He continued, "Even when Zachary had a one-night stand, forcing you into this, he didn't necessarily have to marry you. Forgive my bluntness, but you aren't worth such a high price. When someone helps you, you should repay them, shouldn't you?"
