Chapter 424 Reach In and Feel

Winona knew about the pool party at the Blue Lagoon Club. It was an annual event, basically a fancy matchmaking gig for the rich kids.

"So, I just take the invite and ask him to go swimming? He might think I'm a total creep," Winona said.

Rebecca shrugged. "It doesn't matter. Your goal is to expose him. Just find a way to get him there and then push him into the pool at the right moment. If the scar is raised, you can take the opportunity to see it. If not, just touch it."

Winona was stunned. "Is this how you and Mr. Lewis got together?"

Rebecca, who hadn't been sleeping well lately, felt a headache coming on at the mention of Anthony. She held her head in her hands. "Please, don't bring up Anthony. What happened between us was just a misunderstanding."

Thinking her past terrifying experiences caused by him, Rebecca shuddered. She really didn't want Anthony to catch her again. With a serious look, she said, "Mr. Lewis is not interested in sex."

Winona had only been joking. Seeing Rebecca's strong reaction, she laughed and changed the subject.

Rebecca made a phone call, and within minutes, she had the invitation.

At the same time, someone at the next table was also on the phone, speaking in a lazy, arrogant tone that marked him as a playboy. "Are you sure you're not coming? I just heard a pretty girl say you are impotent. Did you mess with her feelings?"

Rebecca frowned, leaned forward, and whispered to Winona, "That guy has no manners, talking about such things so loudly in public."

Winona remained silent and thought to herself, 'You were just as loud when you told me to put my hand in Nicholas's trousers.'

As they whispered, the playboy walked over and handed his phone to Rebecca. "Miss, Mr. Lewis wants to talk to you about the legal consequences of slander and defamation."

Rebecca was shocked.

Hearing his name, she was furious. Anthony's voice came through the receiver, not on speaker but still audible. "Rebecca."

Rebecca looked up from the phone to see the playboy raising an eyebrow at her, pushing the phone closer.

With a tragic expression, she took the phone and explained, "Mr. Lewis, that's not what I said."

She repeated her exact words. "Your friend is framing me."

Anthony said, "Is there a recording?"

Rebecca was stunned for a few seconds before realizing he meant that without a recording, she couldn't prove she was telling the truth. This was clearly bullying.

Rebecca cursed, "Anthony, fuck you."

There was a brief silence on the other end before Anthony calmly said, "I accept."

Rebecca was speechless. Winona couldn't help but cover her face with her hand, trying to hide her uncontrollable laughter.

Rebecca noticed and shot her a glare. "If you want to laugh, just do it. Your shoulders are shaking like crazy; what's the point of pretending?"

Winona put her hand down and said, "I don't usually do this."

Rebecca gave her a light, sarcastic laugh, then tossed the phone into the playboy's chest and rolled her eyes at him. She grabbed Winona's hand. "Let's go shopping and turn all this frustration into a shopping spree."

Three days before the pool party, Rebecca handed the invitation to Winona.

The cover was dark blue, with a blue and white interior. The content was normal, with no mention of a 'pool party,' but anyone active in the Dreamopolis social circle knew what kind of party it was.

Originally, it was just a regular matchmaking party with no male or female models, but it wasn't popular. Few people attended each year. Then they changed the format, and attendance skyrocketed.

Evander had already told her about Nicholas's attitude, saying she didn't need to look for him anymore.

She suddenly stood up and walked briskly to the office door.

Why bother confirming the scar? She could just pull a strand of Nicholas's hair and do a DNA test to confirm his identity. She hadn't thought of it at the café. Besides, he didn't drink coffee at that time, probably because he was afraid she might use his saliva for DNA testing.

Winona drove to Ramsey Group. She wanted to call Nicholas directly but realized she didn't have his number or WhatsApp.

At the reception desk, she said, "Hello, I'm here to see Mr. Ramsey."

"Do you have an appointment?"

"No, I'm Winona Sullivan, the assistant to the chairman of Bailey Group. I have something urgent to discuss with him. Could you please call and ask?"

The receptionist's expression changed slightly as she sized up Winona and politely refused. "I'm sorry, Miss Sullivan, but Mr. Ramsey specifically instructed that he won't see you or anyone from Bailey Group. He said there's nothing to discuss."

Winona was puzzled.

This was the first time since officially joining Bailey Group that she had been turned away. She didn't feel embarrassed, just a bit disappointed, because she wouldn't have a chance to pull his hair.

She placed the invitation on the counter and said, "Could you please pass this on to him?"

Although Mr. Ramsey had said he wouldn't see Winona, the receptionist didn't dare handle the invitation herself. Shortly after Winona left, she took the invitation to the top floor and handed it to Leon. "Miss Sullivan from Bailey Group asked me to give this to Mr. Ramsey."

Leon glanced at the logo on the cover and immediately tossed the invitation into the trash. He said with a blank expression, "Anything from Miss Sullivan doesn't need to be brought up in the future. Just dispose of it."
