Chapter 60 Better at Caring Than Mr. Bailey

When Winona saw the person, her face darkened, "Mr. Miller."

Mr. Miller's face was red, and his steps were unsteady. It was obvious he had drunk too much. His smile was lewd and sleazy, "Good evening."

Winona's gaze fell on the keycard he was holding in his hand, "You better explain how you ended up with a keycard that can open my room."

In reality, there was no need for an explanation. It was definitely given to him by some money-minded staff member. She was asking just to confirm his purpose for being here.

Mr. Miller's eyes seemed fixated on her, "Didn't you tell me to meet you somewhere without surveillance? I came to fulfill your invitation!"

He walked in and closed the door behind him. Licking his lips, he continued walking towards Winona, "Is there a place safer and more comfortable than this room? Now I think your claim of Mr. Bailey spending three hundred million dollars to keep you might be true."

Even though she was wearing this conservative and old-fashioned long pajama, with a face devoid of any makeup, Winona was still extremely beautiful, captivating everyone's attention.

"Although I can't give you three hundred million dollars, I promise, I'll definitely care for you better than Mr. Bailey, and I'll give you my undivided attention. Other women don't even catch my eye."

He could produce three hundred million dollars, but he couldn't bear to spend such a large sum to support a woman.

Winona really wanted to pry open his head to see if there was actual shit inside. She stepped back slowly until her lower back hit the table, "You can't offer me money, and you're not younger or better looking than Zachary. Why should I think highly of you?"

"Will I give up on him and choose you?" Upon hearing her question, Mr. Miller felt a glimmer of hope and took a few eager steps forward. "I can give you my wife's position. Just come with me, and once I return to Zeeland, I will divorce that ugly woman."

Winona fell silent. In those few seconds of silence, Mr. Miller had already reached her, extending his fat hand towards her.

She coldly asked, "Aren't you afraid that by doing this, Mr. Bailey will be angry and our hard-won collaboration might be terminated?"

Although she hadn't paid much attention to their business discussions these past few days, she could still tell that Zachary was clearly in the dominant position for this collaboration.

"Mr. Bailey doesn't have time for you now. He might be making love to some woman in his room. As for the collaboration, it's not going to happen. The contract has been signed, worth billions of dollars, with hefty penalty fees. Forget about being a fake, even if you were the real Mrs. Bailey, you couldn't affect the collaboration."

To support his claim, Mr. Miller pulled out a photo from his phone and handed it to her. In the photo, Zachary was surrounded by a few women in revealing clothes, one of them holding a glass of wine and leaning towards him. The low neckline couldn't contain her ample curves, and the logo on the wall was the name of the downstairs club.

"Mr. Bailey may be young, handsome, rich, and powerful, but he can't give you a status, nor can he stay by your side for long. But I can..."

With a loud "bang," the room filled with Mr. Miller's screams, sounding like a pig being slaughtered. Then, Mr. Miller held his head, and thick red blood dripped onto the dark carpet at his feet.

"Do you know why I asked you to find a place without surveillance? You bastard."

Winona held a desk lamp in her hand and smashed it at him mercilessly.

After being hit several times in a row, Mr. Miller finally reacted. He raised his hand and gripped the base of the lamp. "Damn it..."

He was going mad!

Men are naturally physically stronger than women, even weaklings like Mr. Miller, who got out of breath after taking two steps. At first, he hadn't expected Winona to suddenly attack. But now, he reacted and directly grabbed the lamp as she swung it again. His fierce gaze fell upon Winona, filled with hatred, as if he wanted to tear her apart.

He exerted force and forcefully pulled her towards him. Although Winona immediately let go, she still staggered forward due to the inertia of the motion.

And it was this small step that was enough for Mr. Miller to catch hold of her.

"You bitch, daring to hit me!"

Mr. Miller's hand clamped tightly around Winona's wrist like a vice, and she received a slap across her face with a loud "smack."

This slap, fueled by anger and his full strength, was far more powerful than the ones Winona had landed. The intense, bloody taste spread in her mouth, the dizziness overwhelmed her vision, and a sharp buzzing noise in her ears made her nauseous.

Before the second slap came down, Winona kicked Mr. Miller right in the lower abdomen. The man's face turned blue from the pain, and he couldn't even bother to chase after Winona. She turned around and ran towards the elevator instinctively. Her phone was still in the room, so she had to go to the front desk on the first floor and ask the staff for help in calling the police.

Behind her, she heard Mr. Miller's footsteps and angry curses. She glanced back and saw the bloodied man staring fiercely at her. The distance between them was diminishing rapidly.

Winona quickened her pace and glanced back again. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a figure in front of her. But before she could react and avoid it, she collided heavily with the person.

With this collision, Winona's vision went black instantly. Dizziness washed over her, and she couldn't even see the person's face clearly...

Nausea overwhelmed her, and she felt someone's hand gripping her shoulder. Despite the voice that sounded in her ear, her senses were drowned out by the buzzing in her ears. She couldn't make out what the person was saying, let alone whether it was a man or a woman.

But with the strength exerted, it had to be a man.

After a while, Winona finally regained her composure, and the voice of the person overcame the buzzing in her ears and reached her, "Winona..."

The voice sounded familiar, but she was still a bit dazed from the attack and took a while to connect that voice to the person. The person's face came into focus, and a few seconds later, she recognized him, "Matthew."

Matthew frowned as he looked at the bruise on her face caused by the finger marks, then glanced at the man running towards them.

"What happened?"

Before Winona could say anything, Mr. Miller caught up and immediately tried to grab her hair without a word. However, his outstretched hand was forcefully grabbed by Matthew!

In an instant, Mr. Miller felt like his hand was about to be broken!

He menacingly warned, "Let go. This woman is my girlfriend. I advise you not to meddle, or else, I'll make you regret it!"

"Did you hit her, causing the injury on her face?"

Matthew didn't recognize this Mr. Miller and subconsciously thought he was just a tourist at the resort. After all, who with wealth and power would stay in such an ordinary room?

"Well then, let's see who will have a bad day today."

Matthew coldly chuckled while exerting more force in his grip. Although he had a gentle demeanor, he wasn't a pushover. His noble status and immense wealth had cultivated a presence that was no weaker than anyone else's.

Just then, the elevator door behind them 'dinged' open. Mr. Miller, who was facing the elevator, turned pale instantly. "Mr. Bailey..."
