Chapter 63 Mr. Bailey Troublesome and Shameless
No one spoke. Both of them were breathing heavily, with Winona seething in anger.
Winona couldn't see Zachary's expression, nor did she have time to speculate on his current mood. After a full half minute, she barely calmed her turbulent emotions and said, "The contract has been signed, you can't go back on your word."
The man's voice responded calmly, "Without further cooperation, the contract is not deemed successful. Otherwise, you can ask Mr. Miller if he still wants to continue working with the Bailey Group."
Mr. Miller would definitely agree. Compared to dignity, the future of the company was more important. But after what Mr. Miller had done, how could she...
Anger surged in Winona's chest again, "Zachary, you're shameless!"
Zachary probably had never been insulted like this before. His voice turned chillingly cold, "Winona, have you lost all sense of manners?"
The woman sneered, not holding back, "Haven't you eaten them all?"
After a few seconds of silence, Zachary's voice seemed to be suppressing something, "Send your account details to Dylan, and he will transfer the additional five million dollars to you as compensation."
Winona gritted her teeth, knowing that Zachary would never give in on the three billion dollars. "I don't want those five million."
"There's no need to talk with me about conditions when it comes to the divorce. I will repay you the three billion dollars you owe me in installments."
"Do you have the right to negotiate terms with me?"
Winona's throat tightened. Not this line again, it was clear there was nothing to negotiate!
Since there was nothing to negotiate, she didn't want to say another word to him and hung up the phone directly.
She closed her eyes and calculated the funds she currently had, becoming more and more agitated. She wished she could drive over and punch Zachary to death.
How could there be such an annoying and shameless man in the world?
All his money must have been obtained through deceit and trickery!
Winona added all of Zachary's contact information to the blacklist and calmly spent more than ten minutes in the restroom until her emotions calmed down before pushing the door open and walking out.
Without going far, she ran into Alex who hurriedly approached. He seemed to be looking for someone, sweeping his gaze around until he saw Winona, then he let out a breath, "Windy, I've been looking everywhere for you. The production team has almost finished filming. It's your turn next."
Winona eventually agreed to the restoration program of cultural relics that Mr. Baker had mentioned before, but her condition was to remain anonymous. However, it was such a good publicity opportunity that the studio couldn't afford to miss, so they decided to have Alex join her in the filming of the restoration process and let him be the one on camera.
"Sorry, I went to the restroom just now. Let's go."
The two entered the restoration room, and the artifact Winona would be restoring this time, an Aveiro vase, was already placed on her workstation. The extent of its damage was moderate, so it would be filmed multiple times and then edited together.
The director came over and briefed them, "During the repairs, you only need to focus on your work. Just do what you normally do without any particular posing for the camera."
Winona nodded, "Okay, thank you."
The director's gaze fell on her face, and he couldn't help but feel regretful, "You really don't want to show your face? This is such a good opportunity. You're so beautiful, maybe someone from the film industry will notice you and you can start a career in the entertainment industry..."
He tried to persuade Winona. A young and beautiful girl like her would definitely appeal to the audience. It would be a shame if she only showed her hands.
Winona politely smiled, "I'm sorry, I'm an introverted person and not suitable for other circles. Let's just focus on the restoration. It doesn't matter whether I show my face or not; the goal is for more people to learn about this industry."
Although disappointed, the director didn't insist. He nodded and returned to the camera, "Alright!"
"Ready, let's begin!"
Making a documentary was different from filming a TV drama. There was no need for acting skills or a script. Winona just needed to be herself, and how to film and edit was the director's job; she didn't need to worry about it.
Although Winona and Alex were restoring the same porcelain piece, their roles were different. And because Winona didn't want to show her face, they were mostly filmed separately, with very few scenes together.
Halfway through, she handed something to Alex, who was fully focused on his work, and without realizing it, he held her hand.
He froze for a moment and quickly let go, "I'm sorry."
"It's okay."
Alex suddenly asked, "Windy, you don't seem to be in a good mood. Is something bothering you?"
Winona concealed the darkness in her eyes. She and Alex weren't at a stage where they could discuss personal matters. "No, I'm just a little tired."
"Well, don't push yourself too hard. There are so many artifacts piled up in the storage room that even eight hands wouldn't be enough to restore them all. Take a break whenever you can," Alex said.
Winona smiled and didn't say anything more.
Just then, Dylan's phone rang. Seeing the name, Winona couldn't help but think of Zachary. She answered the call with a slightly annoyed tone, "What do you want?"
Dylan was taken aback by the woman's fierce voice. After a few seconds of silence, he finally spoke, "Mrs. Sullivan, could you please provide me with your bank account? Mr. Bailey asked me to transfer the hard-earned pay for this social event to you."
So, it was about the money. Winona gave him her account number. Though she had no hope of clearing the debt of three billion dollars, she still deserved her hard-earned pay. She didn't want to give Zachary any advantages!
In the following days, Winona and Alex were busy restoring the vase. The crew came twice to shoot additional footage. Unlike TV dramas, documentaries didn't require complicated post-production. After a week, the documentary segment was released on the online platform.
That day, Dylan came out of the president's office and let out a long sigh...
These past few days had been difficult for him. Because he hadn't properly investigated Winona's position at View Studio, he ended up giving Mr. Bailey the wrong information. As a result, Mr. Bailey had been looking at him recently... as if he were worthless.
So, he had to work hard to keep his job!
As Dylan walked to the pantry, he overheard two female secretaries whispering to each other while holding their phones. "I can't believe that one day I would think they make a lovely couple just because of their hands!"
"What if one of them is an ugly monster or a middle-aged woman? You still have to consider their faces!"
"Impossible! Just based on this man's looks, he couldn't be ugly, especially when paired with such beautiful hands."
The two were so engrossed in their conversation that they didn't notice Dylan entering the room.
Dylan casually glanced at the screen, and the camera zoomed in, revealing a pair of fair hands...
In an instant, he was stunned. These hands triggered a familiar memory. Unable to contain himself, he asked, "What show is this?"
