Chapter 571 Baby, Did You Miss Me?
The tone and content were unmistakably sketchy.
"One time? What do you mean by one time?"
Winona met Zachary's questioning gaze. She was just as confused as he was.
Rebecca winked mysteriously and held up two fingers, whispering in a voice she thought no one else could hear, "Fifty bucks for one session, two guys, handsome, good physique, and most importantly, great skills."
Before she could finish, Anthony grabbed her arm and dragged her away.
Rebecca was already unsteady on her feet, and being dragged felt like being thrown into a high-speed spinning washing machine. Her head was spinning, and she couldn't remember who she had been talking to.
"Let go of me, I feel like I'm gonna puke."
Rebecca frowned, rejecting Anthony's support. But as soon as she pushed his hand away and tried to take a step, her body uncontrollably tilted to the side.
Luckily, Anthony was watching her closely. Seeing her about to fall, he quickly caught her again.
From the garden to the parking lot was quite a distance. Anthony supported Rebecca for a few steps, but she was moving too slowly, swaying like a wobbling doll. He decided to just pick her up.
Rebecca lived quite far from Regal Oaks, so Anthony decided to have the driver take them to his place instead.
A spacious apartment of over 1,000 square feet, facing south, with the living room overlooking Dreamopolis's largest artificial lake and the bedroom facing the courtyard, it was bright and airy.
Anthony placed Rebecca on the couch and went to the kitchen to make her some soup.
Rebecca was starting to sober up a bit. She sat up on the couch in a twisted, dark posture, took the bowl he handed her, and while drinking, she scanned the empty living room. "Is this your place? Why is it so cold and empty?"
The house was large but sparsely furnished. Leather sofas, shiny tiles, huge floor-to-ceiling windows, and cold white lighting made it feel chilly.
Fortunately, the floor heating was on; otherwise, the decor alone would make it unbearable.
Anthony replied, "The design company did it."
He had just picked a template.
Rebecca fell silent, either too drunk to hear him or at a loss for words. Anthony rarely saw her so quiet. She looked like a little hamster, obediently drinking her soup. He reached out to rub her head, "Drink slowly, I'm going to take a shower."
He smelled like smoke and grease.
Rebecca grimaced and dodged, "Don't touch, you'll make me bald."
Anthony went to shower, leaving the TV remote in front of her, "Watch some TV if you're bored. I'll help you make the bed when I'm done."
Anthony lived alone, so apart from the master bedroom, the other beds needed to be made.
Rebecca put down the empty bowl. She was in a state of mental excitement but physical exhaustion, meaning her mind wanted to party, but her body couldn't keep up. In this state, no matter how enthusiastic she was, she couldn't do much.
Unable to sleep and too lazy to move, she took out her phone to play some games.
Rebecca spent fifty bucks to hire two handsome, good-voiced players, then tried to invite Winona, but she was ignored.
Player A: "Ready to roll?"
His voice was clear and upbeat, like a breath of fresh air.
Player B: "Miss me, babe?"
This voice had a playful, roguish charm that girls loved—cool and captivating. He was a familiar face; they had played together before.
Rebecca: "Of course, that's why I called you again. My friend bailed, so let's get started."
When Anthony came out of the shower, he saw Rebecca, who had been too drunk to walk, now sitting cross-legged on the couch, passionately playing games on her phone. There was no sign of her previous drunkenness. The phone's speaker emitted game sounds and the voices of two men, calling her "babe" and "darling," showering her with sweet, flattering words.
Rebecca was delighted, her hands flying over the screen, clearly enjoying being pampered, "Quick, the boss is almost dead."
Before she could finish, her phone was suddenly snatched from her hand and flew across the room. Rebecca looked up, her gaze following her phone, finally landing on Anthony, wrapped in a bathrobe.
Anthony glanced at the screen, seeing a group of people attacking a tree stump with eyes and a mouth, skills and weapons flying everywhere.
The man on the other end urged, "Babe, what are you doing? Move, you're killing me here. If you don't move, my health will be drained."
This boss released bugs that drained health, and without a healer, they had to endure until the boss was defeated.
The young voice pleaded, "Miss, we're having a promotion. You can get an annual pass for just $16,888, unlimited playtime every day. There's also a gold pass, which includes meals, and you can choose any of our players for just $28,888, 24-hour service, and you can switch players anytime if you're not satisfied.
And the diamond pass includes offline companionship. With the holidays coming up, if you're pressured by family to get married, we can pretend to be your boyfriend to deal with your parents, but that's only with the diamond pass. Miss, I'm short on my monthly quota, can you help me out? If I don't meet my quota, I'll be penalized."
He knew Rebecca was a big spender, always tipping generously, so he tried to pitch the promotion before the session ended.
Even a regular annual pass would earn him over a thousand dollars in commission, and meeting his quota would bring extra rewards.
Anthony's voice turned serious, with a strong sense of authority, "Inducing consumption violates consumer rights protection laws. If there's any discrepancy between what's promised and what's delivered, it can be considered fraud."
The phone went silent, only the game sounds remained.
Anthony shut off the app and tossed the phone beside her.
Rebecca snapped out of it, quickly swiping the screen to check the app. The game was indeed closed, "What are you doing? I was about to win."
Anthony: "This is what you paid fifty bucks for? Handsome, good physique, nice voice..."
He was at a loss for words, not knowing how to describe them—men?
Rebecca was furious, glaring at Anthony, "Yes, and they're good at the game too. Compared to you, they're perfect in every way."
