Chapter 31 I Advise You to Stay Away from Her!
Winona had been drinking and was slower to react than usual. It wasn't until Matthew shouted, "Zachary," that she finally met those mocking tones and Zachary's face.
Winona didn't know why Zachary suddenly appeared. But she knew what he was about to say next... and she didn't want Matthew to know.
Almost instinctively, Winona stood up from her seat and took a step towards Zachary. However, her movements were too sudden, and her brain, affected by the alcohol, felt numb. She stumbled and fell into the man's arms. Zachary made no move and allowed her to crash into him, his handsome face expressionless.
Winona's legs weakened, and she had to hold onto the man's arm to steady herself.
She regretted drinking so much!
Looking up at Zachary, her voice soft so that only the two of them could hear, she said, "Don't say it."
Her voice carried both charm and grievance, unaware of herself.
Zachary's tightly drawn jawline was cold and menacing. "What, afraid he'll find out you once drugged him? Ruin the perfect and innocent image he had of you?"
Frowning, Winona showed clear displeasure, but to Zachary, that displeasure seemed like implicit admission. Emotions surged within him.
However, the intoxicated woman remained oblivious to his anger. Instead, she impatiently complained, "Didn't you leave? Why did you come back?"
Zachary suddenly smirked, amusement in his eyes. "Are you blaming me for disturbing you?"
Listening to his ambiguous words, Winona furrowed her brow. "Think whatever you want."
After steadying herself, she let go of his hand and turned to bid Matthew farewell. "I'm leaving now. Don't take to heart what I said earlier... I'll treat you to dinner some other time."
Although these words were clearly just polite, someone with a keen eye noticed.
Matthew nodded. "Take care on your way home."
"Goodbye." Winona turned to leave, completely ignoring Zachary. As she passed by his side, she felt a discomfort in her brow, her steps reflecting her drunkenness.
This was the second time Zachary had seen her drunk, with her flushed cheeks and alluring gaze.
Watching the woman's graceful figure disappear, Zachary pursed his lips and a deep, murky shade brewed in his eyes.
Winona went downstairs and stood by the roadside to hail a taxi.
It was a busiest time for hailing a cab, and this area was known for high consumption, so there were few taxis in sight, let alone empty ones.
Ignoring her image, Winona sat on a roadside stone stool and opened the ride-hailing app on her phone.
Squinting, she tried to get a clear view of the screen. However, her arm was forcefully pulled, lifting her off the stool.
Without needing to look, she knew who was yanking her. The man exuded dominance and aggression.
Winona's arm ached, and she frowned, struggling. "Let go..."
Before she could finish her sentence...
In a reckless manner, Zachary forcefully shoved her into the car, disregarding her resistance. Brian, who was on the driver's seat, was startled by the commotion from the backseat. He turned his head and saw the young master treating madam like a misbehaving kitten, pressing her onto the rear seat.
Winona struggled against him, intoxicated but far from delicate. Determined to break free from the man's restraint, she possessed an unyielding strength, stronger than that of a bull, even lacking any sense of moderation compared to when she was sober.
At least when Winona was sober, she would never dare to scratch Zachary with her hands!
She clawed at the man's neck, leaving behind a prominent red mark, a burning pain. He even wondered, if it weren't for his short hair, making it impossible for her to get a grip, wouldn't she have torn at his hair like a shrew?
"Winona..." Zachary's face turned cold as he forcefully held the woman's flailing hands down by crossing his own over them, kneeling beside her with one knee and suppressing her from a position of superiority.
This ambiguous yet violent posture sent shivers down one's spine, but for Brian, the only witnessing bystander, it felt like his scalp was going numb!
He was afraid that madam would incur the master's anger.
Biting her lip, Winona looked at the graceful face in front of her, lost in thought, before suddenly deflating.
They were getting a divorce anyway, there was no need to make a scene. What more could he do to her?
Sensing that the woman was no longer resisting, Zachary released her with a cold expression. "Go back to Regal Oaks."
Zachary touched the area on his neck where he was scratched and found a few traces of blood on his fingertips.
He pressed his tongue against his cheek, the pain causing his brow to furrow.
Winona shifted to the other side, curling up against the car door, her voice tired and lacking energy. "Brian, please drop me off at a convenient place to catch a taxi."
Winona intended to return to her rented place, but she didn't want to bother Brian with an extra detour.
Brian didn't dare comply. Glancing at Zachary through the rearview mirror, he saw his expression cold and stern, saying nothing.
However, after following Zachary for so many years, Brian could immediately understand his intentions from just a single glance.
He didn't respond to Winona, instead, he increased the speed of the car, directly heading in the direction of Regal Oaks. Winona frowned but was unfamiliar with the roads here, so she reluctantly resorted to using her phone's navigation.
As Zachary tilted his head slightly, he caught sight of the content on her phone, his gaze lingering on her body for a moment. His tone carried a hint of cold sarcasm. "With a figure as flat as yours, why worry about what I might do to you?"
Winona retorted, "No need to worry about that. After all, your taste is far from ordinary."
Though she didn't have a large chest, her figure was well-proportioned. She had flesh where she should and was slender where she should be. Fiona, who frequently danced and had an excellent figure and temperament, didn't have Winona's ample chest.
However, it was evident that Zachary had no qualms about Fiona's flat chest but disliked Winona's thinness.
Was this the difference between true love and an ordinary woman?
Winona couldn't be bothered to pay him any attention and said to the person in the front seat, "Brian, just drop me off at a convenient taxi spot."
"Please take me to the Seventh Apartment," Winona requested.
Brian glanced at her apologetically through the rearview mirror and continued driving. Winona furrowed her brows, suppressing the urge to speak. With the increasing frequency of the GPS navigation prompting to take a detour, and no alternative routes ahead, she finally decided to stand her ground.
"Brian, just stop by the side," she insisted. Zachary coldly glanced at her and asked, "You want to go back and find Matthew?" Was she refusing to ride with him just to find someone else? Does that make any sense?
Noticing her silence, Zachary stared at her displeased face and smirked, "Do you think it's such a coincidence to run into him tonight? He's on a blind date at this hour..." He glanced at his wrist, checking the time, "You'll probably have to go to a love hotel to find him."
Winona scoffed, realizing that he was deliberately provoking her. She raised her chin defiantly and replied, "Then please look up which love hotel he's at. With Matthew's physique and figure..." Leaning toward Zachary's ear, she whispered something she would have never dared to say otherwise, "Taking on two guys at once should be no problem."
