Chapter 57 He Couldn't Resist Teasing Her

Winona, in a disheveled state, was held in Zachary's arms, her wet hair constantly dripping water. It took a while for her coughing to finally subside, and she looked up at the culprit in front of her, asking, "What are you doing here?"

Her eyes were red from the irritation caused by the hot spring water, and droplets clung to her long, curly lashes, making her appear pitiable at this moment.

Zachary pursed his lips, contemplating for a while before two words emerged in his mind: teasing her.

With Winona's eyes in pain and her throat uncomfortable, she had originally intended to relax in the hot spring. Instead, she almost drowned, leaving her filled with resentment. Her voice carried a hint of displeasure as she asked, "How did you get in?"

She remembered locking the door.

Zachary remained silent, only giving her a contemptuous glance that clearly mocked her foolishness. However, he restrained his attitude, not being too blatant about it.

Seeing him not saying a word, Winona's anger grew stronger. "Why are you so sneaky, barging into someone else's private pool without permission?"

She couldn't continue soaking in this hot spring anymore. After saying these words, she turned and walked towards the shore. However, after taking just a few steps, the man grabbed her wrist and pulled her back. "Sneaky?" Zachary leaned in, his cool lips close to hers, and his calloused hand caressed her skin. His voice was slightly hoarse, "We are husband and wife. How is it sneaky to soak in a hot spring together?" Winona's face turned red.

The two of them were close and dressed thinly, making it inevitable for them to touch each other in a way that they could both sense the changes in each other...

Zachary could feel the waist he held onto tensing up like a piece of wood. When he lowered his gaze, he saw the woman's beautiful cheeks tinged with a rosy hue, accompanied by the mist of water, making her appear tender and alluring, causing his heart to race uncontrollably.

His deep, experienced eyes darkened, fixating on her rosy lips. He closed his eyes and swallowed, struggling to control the surging impulse within him.

Winona didn't provoke him further at a time like this. After all, being able to remain calm in such a situation, one must either be a gentleman or have an issue with their body.

Clearly, Zachary was neither.

She quickly returned to the initial topic and asked with a frown, "Why did you come here?"

"To take a bath."

This bastard!

Winona cursed inwardly. She directly exposed Zachary's lame lie, "There's a private bathtub in your room."

A smirk appeared at the corner of the man's mouth, accompanied by a playful smile, "I prefer the public one. It's livelier."

"Then go to the next one, there are plenty of people there, as lively as it gets."

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Winona pushed Zachary away, took a few steps to the edge, and took a towel from the nearby shelf to wrap herself tightly before climbing up.

She went to the changing room to change her clothes, and Zachary's gaze remained on her until her figure disappeared behind the changing room door. Only then did he withdraw his gaze and click his tongue against his cheek.

Winona returned from the changing room in her new clothes without greeting Zachary. She left directly with a cold face.

When she reached the floor where she lived, she could see Dylan waiting at the door of her room from a distance.

"Mrs. Sullivan, Mr. Bailey asked me to bring your luggage down."

"Thank you."

Winona took the handle of the suitcase from Dylan's hand, ignoring his hesitant attempts to speak, and brushed open the door to enter.

The next morning, before seven o'clock, she was awakened by a continuous knocking at the door. She initially wanted to ignore it, but the person outside was persistent. Filled with resentment, she got out of bed noisily and went to open the door.

The person standing outside was Zachary, wearing a well-fitted and dignified black shirt and meticulously ironed suit pants. He was perfectly groomed from head to toe.

Winona propped the door open, with no intention of letting him in. She had messy hair and a clearly annoyed expression on her face, "What's the matter?"

"Let's go eat!" He replied.

She blinked, doubting if she was still half asleep and hallucinating, "I was about to call room service." She tried to close the door.

The man glanced at her, pushed the door open directly, and walked inside with large strides, clearly looking upset. "Mr. Miller and others are watiing, you have ten minutes to get ready."

Winona understood. He came to call her to act, not out of goodwill to invite her for a meal.

Although she didn't feel like going due to exhaustion, the thought of the ten-million-dollar prize...

Exhausted and holding her clothes, she went to the restroom.

With only ten minutes left, she quickly applied a layer of primer without putting on makeup.

When they arrived at the restaurant, the Millers were already there.

After a night passed, the bruise on Mr. Miller's nose, which Winona had caused with her phone, became more prominent. It was purplish and swollen, drawing all attention to his nose.

Zachary was taken aback. "Mr. Miller, what happened to your nose?"

Mr. Miller awkwardly touched his nose, feeling a sudden pain, and quickly withdrew his hand. "I slipped in the bathroom last night and accidentally hit the bathtub."

As he said this, there was a hint of resentment in his voice.

If he hadn't encountered Winona in the elevator last night, and if alcohol hadn't bolstered his courage, he wouldn't have laid a hand on her in these past few days, no matter how much he had wanted to.

But because of last night's incident, he still felt a bit guilty. He even had his assistant investigate, and indeed, Winona and Zachary were in separate rooms on different floors.

This didn't look like a normal couple at all!

There were no media reports stating that Zachary was married, and even the rumors had only surfaced recently, but those who spoke about it couldn't produce any substantial evidence. So, it was still uncertain if they are couple or not.

This result made Mr. Miller more confident, and he stared at Winona even more brazenly than he did yesterday.

Zachary glanced at him with a meaningful look, as if scrutinizing him. "Mr. Miller, you should be more careful. Look, your injury seems quite serious. Have you seen a doctor?"

Mr. Miller laughed awkwardly a couple of times, feeling the rush of air against his injury, and he winced in pain. "I have seen one. It's nothing major; it will heal after some rest."

As Winona leisurely enjoyed her breakfast, she watched the show unfold. Afterward, they all agreed to go play golf.

Since the golf course was nearby and they had just eaten breakfast, it was decided to walk there instead of engaging in vigorous exercise right away. It would serve as a way to aid digestion.

Winona didn't want to socialize and was determined to be a bystander. She truly detested that sleazy man, finding it repulsive even to speak a few words to him!

She intentionally slowed down, soon falling behind, maintaining a distance that was neither too distant nor too conspicuous.

She stared at the trees along the road, her thoughts drifting, not noticing someone approaching beside her...
