Chapter 59 Mrs. Bailey understands!

Although it was described as a pull, it was more like being dragged along the way. Winona had already been drinking, and now she was truly dizzy.

The contract had been signed, and her task was completed. They were now two unrelated individuals. Winona considered herself to have a very good temperament, and even if she had a bad temper, she wouldn't have been able to tolerate Zachary's jerk behavior for three years.

But no matter how good her temper was, she couldn't endure his unreasonable tantrums. "Our collaboration is over. Answering questions like this is considered overtime, and right now, I'm not in the mood for overtime, so..."

She pushed his hand away. "If you have any questions, keep them to yourself."

Winona turned and walked towards the safety channel. Her room was on the sixth floor, while the restaurant was on the second floor. She would rather climb four flights of stairs than continue to be alone with him.

Watching her retreating figure, Zachary's lips curved into a cold and bone-chilling smile. Just as she was about to leave his reach, he reached out and pulled her back again.

At that moment, the elevator doors opened, and Zachary forcefully held onto Winona, locking eyes with the people inside the elevator...

Matthew looked at the obvious tension between the two outside the elevator, a hint of surprise flickering in his usually gentle eyes. As friends with Zachary for many years, this was only the second time he had seen such a suppressed emotional state on his face, despite the overwhelming gloom and hostility that couldn't be concealed.

Thinking of that time, his hand began to ache, a remnant pain from his dislocated wrist.

But Matthew quickly returned to normal, nodding at them. "Zachary, Winona..."

Winona smiled at him, lifted her foot, and walked in without continuing to argue with Zachary. She didn't want strangers to see the wounds of her marriage.

Moreover, this person was the one who advised her not to marry Zachary in the first place. Now, all those words of refusal had turned into slaps, smacking her face!

After pressing the button for the sixth floor, she retreated to a corner, keeping a relative distance from Zachary.

With the contract signed, the three billion dollars of debt were gone. As long as she spent another half a day to go to the Bureau of Vital Statistics to finalize the divorce procedures, she would be able to completely separate from him.

Zachary's dark eyes stared at her without any reservations, and his expressionless face carried a heavy hostility. "You mentioned before that the services at this club are well-known?"

There were only the three of them in the elevator, and the atmosphere was very quiet. Zachary's voice thundered in Winona's ears.

"It seems that you know it well. Have you experienced it yourself?"

This kind of conversation was extremely awkward with a third person present. Winona didn't dare to look at Matthew's face. It was hard not to associate the famous club's services with the erotic side...

And indeed, this club was well-known. Rebecca had mentioned it before.

Zachary spoke each word distinctly, slowly grinding Winona's restless nerves. "What kind did you choose?"

Winona had intended to pretend to be dead, but she couldn't hold back when she heard his words and retorted, "Definitely not your type."

Matthew coughed lightly beside them, unsure if it was because of the awkwardness or if he wanted to laugh. Winona subconsciously glanced at him upon hearing the noise.

This was just a subconscious reaction, without any personal emotions attached. However, Zachary, a person filled with filthy thoughts, evidently didn't see it that way.

Because from his cold, sinister expression, Winona sensed thick sarcasm and malicious mockery. She felt that his next words would be: "Do you like the type of Matthew? Should I ask the manager to find a few with this style for you?"

Just thinking about it drove her crazy!

While Winona was thinking about how to shut his mouth, the elevator stopped on the sixth floor, and the door opened with a "ding."

Without any hesitation, she walked straight out, her steps quick and almost running, disappearing in front of the two of them. Fortunately, Zachary didn't follow.

She swiped the card, inserted it into the nearby switch to activate the power, and placed her bag and phone on the cabinet in the hallway. Winona went to the bathroom to freshen up.

By the time she finished washing and caring for her skin, an hour had already passed.

Sitting on the bed, she applied body lotion while video chatting with Rebecca, her tone relaxed and pleasant. "The contract is signed."

"We don't have to repay the three billion dollars of debt?"

"Yeah," Winona smiled with relief, her eyes and brows filled with ease. She let out a long sigh, saying, "Finally, I don't have to work late into the night, desperately trying to repay the debt. Otherwise, I would be afraid that I'd have to buy my own coffin before paying off the money."

"When are you coming back?" Rebecca's asked.

The voice sounded even more cheerful than her, "I'll go book a hotel now and invite some people to celebrate your escape from the mire of Zachary!"

Winona laughed, "Aren't you being too ostentatious?"

"I'm already being low-key. If it weren't for my recent financial situation, I'd have thought about booking a hotel and inviting all the high-quality men around me, letting you choose freely."

"The high-quality men around you? Kevin, Jeff, right?"

Neither of them could hold back and burst into laughter. Just as they were joking around, they heard a 'creaking' sound from the door lock and then a 'click' as it unlocked...

Someone was coming in.

Winona's face darkened, and she frowned irritably, "Hang up for now. Zachary probably went to ask the waiter for a keycard."

As she put on her shoes, she complained, "How can he, a grown man, be so petty and continue to invade my peace and privacy..."

It must have been Matthew just now. Zachary couldn't keep pestering her - it's a matter of a man's dignity - so... now he's here again.

But was it worth being so persistent just for a lie?

Winona, wearing pajamas, walked towards the door. But before she could reach the door, someone pushed it open from the outside.

The person who entered was not Zachary but...
