Chapter 420 Got a New Boyfriend

The Ramsey Group's office was kinda out there; they rented it later on. Their old building in the CBD got too expensive to keep up with and was sold off about a year ago.

Now, there's just one café downstairs at the Ramsey Group.

Winona looked up and immediately spotted Nicholas sitting by the window, saving her the hassle of searching.

Leon was there too, greeting, "Hi, Miss Sullivan."

Winona nodded at him, took a seat across from Nicholas, and casually set her shopping bag aside.

Nicholas glanced at his watch and then at the logo on her bag, which was from a men's clothing store.

With a playful smirk, he said, "Looks like Miss Sullivan isn't too worried about the bidding, still finding time to shop. You're late."

This was the fastest she could manage coming from the Bailey Group. "Sorry, I was at the mall, just a quick errand..."

Facing him, she still felt awkward calling him 'Mr. Ramsey,' "The timing was tight."

Winona told the waiter standing by, "A cheese latte, no sugar."

Nicholas cut in, "Get her a warm milk."

The waiter, clearly intimidated by his aura, responded with a nod and turned away without asking for Winona's opinion.

Winona, confused, asked, "Mr. Ramsey, do you have to control what I drink too?"

Nicholas replied calmly, "Pregnant women shouldn't drink coffee. I don't want any issues while discussing business."

Winona stayed silent.

Since it was a fake pregnancy, she often forgot she was supposed to be acting like a pregnant woman.

But she was here to talk business today, so what she drank didn't really matter.

"Mr. Ramsey, do you have a grudge against the Bailey Family?"

"No."

"Then why are you always targeting the Bailey Group?"

Nicholas rubbed his thumb along the rim of his cup, leaned back against the sofa, and looked deeply at Winona. "I heard Miss Sullivan used to work in artifact restoration? You're not cut out for the business world. You should go back to your craft. As long as there's profit, competition between companies is normal, isn't it? Just because I win doesn't mean I have a grudge against you. Otherwise, wouldn't every similar company be enemies?"

The waiter brought the milk, and Winona quickly stood up to take it.

Her fingers brushed against the waiter's.

Winona suddenly pulled her hand back sharply, knocking over the cup in the process.

The waiter had approached from Nicholas's side, so the cup fell onto his leg.

Milk spilled all over him.

"Sorry," Winona quickly apologized, "There was static electricity, so I couldn't hold it."

Nicholas slowly raised his eyes, looking at Winona, his lips pressed into a thin line, his brows furrowed. "Miss Sullivan, you really are more trouble."

Winona hurriedly grabbed a few napkins, instinctively wanting to wipe it off, but then realized it might not be appropriate given the uncertain nature of their relationship. Wiping his pants could be seen as too intimate.

"I'm really sorry, Mr. Ramsey. Could you wipe it off yourself?" She rummaged through her shopping bag. "I happened to buy a pair of men's shorts. If you don't mind, you can change into them. It's better than wearing wet, sticky pants."

Nicholas glanced at the men's shorts in her hand, along with the underwear inside, his face turning icy. "It's rumored that Mr. Bailey was lost at sea and is now missing. It's only been three months, and Miss Sullivan is already buying men's clothes and underwear? Have you found a new boyfriend?"

Winona stayed silent.

Could she say the shorts were actually prepared for him?

The length was just right and would allow her to see if he had any scars on his legs.

Nicholas continued, "Aren't you pregnant? Doesn't he mind?"

Winona sneered, "He doesn't mind. He said he'd treat this child as his own. Once the baby is born, it will take his last name. After we get married, we'll have another child, and both will be treated equally."

Nicholas stood up with a cold smile, "Sorry, I mind, especially with personal items like underwear."

Seeing him about to leave, Winona quickly blocked his way and said, "These are new. I just bought them at the mall. It's my fault, and if I don't do something to make up for it, I'll feel bad. Didn't you have a cleanliness issue? Please change into them, consider it a small token of my apology."

In her haste, she blurted it out.

Nicholas snorted, picked up the shorts with two fingers, and lifted them in front of Winona, then threw them onto her foot. He said with a cold smile, "Miss Sullivan, your apology is quite unique. Or are you hinting at something?"

Winona kicked the underwear under the table, feeling the awkwardness of the situation. Fortunately, they were the only customers in the café.

She asked, "Mr. Ramsey, what kind of soap operas do you usually watch? You didn't learn the romance and thoughtfulness, but you picked up all the flaws."

Nicholas opened his mouth as if to say something but changed his mind. "I'm not interested in soap operas."

He bent down, picked up the underwear, and held it along with the shorts. "Since it's your apology, I'll reluctantly accept it. Let's go, Leon."

Winona fell silent.

Watching the man walk away without a pause, she wanted to call him back but couldn't think of a reason to force him to change his pants.

She had to let it go.

Downstairs.

Leon looked at the shorts in Nicholas's hand and tentatively asked, "Mr. Ramsey, if you like, I can find a bag for you to put them in? It's a bit awkward to carry them like this."

Nicholas shoved the shorts and underwear into his arms as he said, "Throw them away."

Leon remained silent.
