Chapter 92 Regrets
As she walked past Zachary, a man's voice rang faintly in Winona's ear, "You don't need to go through all this trouble just to make that woman apologize to you."
Winona turned to look at him, and the man had a proud expression as if saying, "You better beg me."
She raised her chin provocatively, "Dream on."
"Winona," Zachary looked at her with eyes that seemed like they could tear her apart, the veins on his forehead uncontrollably pulsating, "Have you lost all manners?"
Zachary was dressed in dark colors today, making his features and contours appear sharper. Zoey and her entourage had already cowered against the wall, leaving only Winona daring to confront him head-on. "Haven't you obsessed enough over something or someone?
With that said, Winona ignored him and headed straight towards the hall.
Zoey looked at Zachary, who was still standing there, not understanding his intentions. Did he want to vent his anger for Winona?
But it was her who got hit!
She had said she wanted that despicable woman to beg for mercy, but before she could put the plan into action, Zachary kicked the door open with one foot.
She cautiously approached, wearing a flattering and ingratiating expression, and asked, "Mr. Bailey, do you know Winona?"
Anyone could tell from what had just transpired that they had a close relationship.
Zoey thought Zachary would ignore her, but after giving her a brief glance, he surprisingly spoke down to her and said, "She's my wife."
Zoey was immediately shocked. His wife?
Winona was Zachary's wife?! How was that even possible?
If she really was Mrs. Bailey, wouldn't she have revealed her identity a long time ago? If that happened, not only would Cassie have to apologize in front of everyone, but the Woods family would also cancel the engagement. Since Winona didn't speak up, Zachary must be lying.
Yes, that must be it. But the fact that Mr. Bailey, a person of his status, was willing to lie for Winona already proved that she was somehow very special to him. Even if she wasn't Mrs. Bailey...
Zoey's legs went weak, and she collapsed to the ground, her face ashen. She didn't know how much time had passed before someone helped her up from the ground. "Zoey, are you okay?"
"Okay... It's far from okay. I'm going to be ruined by Cassie!" Her voice trembled, filled with regret. When she looked up, she realized the area near the bathroom was empty. She hadn't regained her senses yet. "Where's Mr. Bailey?"
"Mr. Bailey has left."
Otherwise, they wouldn't dare to come and help her!
After Winona came out of the bathroom, she didn't join the crowd. Instead, she sat on the sofa in the lounge area, propping her chin and watching Cassie, who was full of confidence, being thanked by the guests while accompanied by Jorge. Cassie's face was beaming with the pride of marrying into a wealthy family.
At first, Cassie managed to maintain a smiling facade, but soon she felt uncomfortable under Winona's intense gaze. She whispered something in Jorge's ear and walked towards the lounge area. "What exactly are you planning?"
"What?" She still had a mask-like smile on her face, but the anger in her eyes was about to burst into flames!
"Don't you know what I want to do?" Winona frowned impatiently. "I'll give you five more minutes. If you don't do as I say, I'll have to give everyone here a bonus."
Cassie glared at her angrily. "How dare you!"
"Then let's make a bet and see if I dare," Winona said coldly. "Cassie, I originally planned to let bygones be bygones, but you keep reminding me, bringing up those unhappy memories. I'm not happy, and you still want to have a happy engagement? Impossible."
Cassie looked towards the direction of the restroom, but Zoey hadn't come out yet.
Didn't she destroy the video? She couldn't even handle such a small matter, she was useless!
"I'll give you money, to buy that video in your hands, the price..." She gritted her teeth with resentment. "You name it."
She couldn't apologize, as it would not only be slapping herself in the face, but also slapping the Wood family's face. The engagement would definitely be canceled after such an embarrassing scene.
She had worked so hard to get to where she was today, she couldn't ruin it!
She regretted it now, if she had known earlier that Winona was a lunatic, she would have endured it.
"Four more minutes."
On one side, the atmosphere was tense, while on the other side, the officiator had started speaking with enthusiasm, pouring out various words of blessings as if they were free. "Now, let us welcome our soon-to-be-wed couple for the opening dance."
Jorge walked towards Cassie and extended his hand to her. "Let's go."
Cassie's intense emotions hadn't had time to calm down, but she managed to force a smile. "Okay."
She decided to take a gamble, to bet that Winona was just bluffing. Her previous boyfriend was from college, and after graduation, she and Winona went their separate ways without any further contact. Who would keep a passionate video of their rival for three years?
Winona approached with a smile, "Jorge, I have something I want to give you..."
Her voice was calm, with a slight curve on her lips. With her already beautiful appearance and this confident smile, it was easy to make people lose focus.
Jorge was also momentarily distracted, so he couldn't immediately refuse.
The music for the dance had already started, and the spotlight, along with everyone's gaze, was directed towards them, naturally noticing the three of them with an eerie atmosphere.
Could it be... a wedding crash?
In this confrontation, Winona clearly had the upper hand.
Cassie anxiously held onto her fiancé's hand. "Don't listen to her..."
Jorge's voice rang out along with hers, "What is it?"
Winona took out her phone. In order for him to watch it more conveniently, she had to come closer.
Cassie's whole body tensed.
If it wasn't for fear of Jorge suspecting something, she would have snatched the phone from her.
Before Winona could make a move, a hand reached out and pulled her away from Jorge's side.
This sudden turn of events stunned everyone. They turned their heads and looked at Zachary, who appeared behind Winona.
The man's demeanor appeared cold, and combined with his status and position, no one dared to be disrespectful.
No one in the room knew what he was planning, and no one dared to speak up at such a moment.
Winona wasn't used to being stared at by so many people. She furrowed her brows and attempted to discreetly pull her hand from Zachary's grasp. However, as soon as she made a slight move, Zachary forcefully separated her fingers in a rough manner, only to interlock their hands again, fingers intertwined tightly...
