Chapter 292 I'll Take You to See My Boyfriend

"I heard Zachary's been getting close to some woman lately, and word is they're planning to get married," Rebecca said, her eyes locked on Winona, watching her reaction. "But that's just what I heard. I don't know the details. If you want the scoop, you should ask him yourself. No one knows better than the guy involved."

Actually, she hadn't just heard about it. She'd seen Zachary with that woman. But they didn't seem all that cozy at the time, so she didn't think much of it.

Lately, though, news of Zachary's upcoming wedding had spread like wildfire in their circle. It seemed the two had become so high-profile that everyone knew about it. Concerns arose that Winona might be caught up in a ruse, particularly since not too long ago, Zachary had insisted he wouldn't tie the knot with anyone but her. And Zachary, with his charm, was the kind of guy who, even if known as a player, few women could resist.

Rebecca pointed upstairs and said, "They're in the private room upstairs now. If you want to ask, I can go with you."

Winona shifted to a more relaxed position, but the café's wooden chairs were so hard that no matter how she sat, they hurt her bones. "I was wondering why you suddenly showed up. He's single now, and if he wants to date or get married, that's his business."

Hearing this, Rebecca felt completely relieved and perked up. "Exactly, why care about that jerk? A player like him deserves to meet a playgirl and torment each other for life."

She downed her coffee in one gulp and pulled Winona up. "Let's go get some bubble tea. These chairs are killing me."

After leaving the room, Winona said, "I need to use the restroom."

She asked the server and found out the restroom was only on the second floor. An annoying situation.

Rebecca said, "Want me to go with you?"

Winona handed her bag and coat to Rebecca. "No need, I won't run into him."

Zachary, who was always followed by the media, valued his privacy. If someone was planning to marry him, their family background must be impressive too. Such elites usually talked behind closed doors.

The second floor was more elegant than the first, exuding classical luxury. After going up the stairs and turning left, the restroom was at the end.

Winona had just come out of the stall when the door of the adjacent stall opened. She didn't pay attention until she heard a familiar voice and looked up. "Winona, what a coincidence. Are you here for coffee too?"

It was Michelle.

She had been going to the museum every day recently, driven by her intense passion and curiosity for artifact restoration, often asking Winona related questions. They had become quite familiar.

Winona nodded. "Yeah."

Michelle, who appeared to be a cool and aloof queen on the surface, was usually found warm and friendly once one got to know her. For instance, now she naturally linked arms with Winona and said, "What a coincidence. Come to our private room. I'll grind some coffee beans for you. I'm quite the expert."

Not to mention whether the two were close enough to be holding hands, just the fact that Rebecca was still waiting for her downstairs made it impossible for Winona to go.

She declined, "Maybe next time. My friend is waiting for me downstairs."

Michelle insisted, "Just one cup, and I'll introduce you to my boyfriend."

She leaned closer to Winona, with a hint of harmless bragging in her tone. "My boyfriend has quite the connections in Dreamopolis. If you ever need help, you can ask him."

But even so, Winona didn't want to go. She always believed in relying on herself. Besides, in Dreamopolis, who could have more connections than Zachary and Samuel? She didn't plan to ask Zachary for help, so naturally, she wouldn't seek help from Michelle's boyfriend either.

But she underestimated Michelle's enthusiasm and strength. The private room wasn't far, and before Winona could free her arm from Michelle's octopus-like grip, she was already dragged to the door.

The door was open, and the room wasn't big. She immediately saw Michelle's boyfriend.

The man was wearing a fitted black shirt and black trousers, holding an exquisite cup with his long fingers, sitting casually on the chair.

Not just some connections; he had absolutely top-tier connections.

Michelle's boyfriend turned out to be Zachary. But it made sense; someone who could casually donate artifacts worth billions to the museum must have an impressive family background.

"I ran into the woman I worship and invited her over. You don't mind, do you?" Michelle's tone had a girlish charm.

Winona recalled Rebecca's words. Rebecca wasn't the type to easily believe rumors. If she said that, she must have seen something or had evidence.

Zachary hadn't seen Winona for a week. He had just returned from a short trip and was busy negotiating a deal with the Turner family. Kyle had an urgent matter and returned to A City, leaving the negotiations to Eva, which slowed the progress significantly.

But he had no real intention of working with the Turners. Compared to Kyle, Eva was easier to control, so even though it was annoying, he tolerated it.

Zachary reached out to Winona, just about to speak, but Michelle had already pulled her in and seated her at the farthest diagonal from him. Winona didn't object.

Zachary pursed his lips in displeasure.

These past few days had been exhausting, with severe sleep deprivation and dealing with Eva. Now, seeing Winona sitting diagonally across from him, treating him like a stranger, made him even more irritated.

Michelle sat opposite Zachary, elegantly grinding coffee beans and brewing coffee.

She gestured. "Try it."

Winona took a sip. The coffee was rich and aromatic, living up to Michelle's confidence in her skills.

Zachary also took a sip. Michelle's eyes sparkled as she looked at him. "How is it?"

He put down the cup. "I don't usually drink this, so I can't tell the difference."

"What kind of coffee do you usually drink?" Michelle pressed on.

Winona wanted to get up and leave but felt it would be impolite to interrupt, so she held back, planning to wait until they finished this topic.

Zachary replied, "Instant coffee."

Both Michelle and Winona fell silent.

Even pigs wouldn't believe he could get a girlfriend with that kind of rizz.

But this silence gave Winona a chance to speak. "Michelle, my friend is still waiting downstairs. I'll go now. You and your boyfriend should enjoy your coffee."
