Chapter 512 How to Entangle Austin?

There was a 24-hour diner right by the hospital entrance. Even though Winona was bundled up, her hands were still freezing. She ordered some soup and asked Zachary, "What do you want to eat?"

Zachary was busy on WhatsApp. "Same as you," he replied.

So, Winona got him a bowl of pasta. "Do you think Samuel's gonna let his personal feelings mess with his work?" she asked.

The Bailey Group's project wasn't done yet. If Samuel decided to bail, wouldn't that be a huge mess?

"No clue." Zachary really didn't want to talk about Samuel in front of Winona. What if she got curious and wanted to meet Julia?

Zachary wasn't even texting Samuel; he was messaging Abigail.

Zachary: [Stick to Austin. Don't let him have any alone time before he heads back to the base.]

Abigail: [Are you kidnapped? If so, send a 95.]

Zachary: [This is part of the deal for me helping you get the company back.]

Abigail almost smashed her phone in frustration. But she was broke now, every penny hard-earned, and couldn't afford to be wasteful. She could only imagine venting her anger. The message was too long, so she sent a voice message instead. "He's a grown man. How am I supposed to keep him from going anywhere? And even if he comes back, he doesn't live here. How am I supposed to stick to him? Wrap my legs around him?"

Zachary glanced at Winona, turned the phone volume down, and converted the voice message to text.

Zachary was totally unfazed by her anger. Zachary: [Do whatever you want.]

Abigail looked at the message and was almost livid. What kind of person was this? Zachary had come to her, offering to help get the company back, but now he was asking her to stick to a guy, calling it part of the deal.

Clearly, Zachary had approached Abigail first, but now she was the one in need. And ever since she moved here, Austin had moved out. She couldn't even see him, let alone stick to him.

As Abigail was fuming, there was a knock on the door.

Just by the sound, she knew it was Austin.

She hurried to open the door, and sure enough, it was Austin. Despite the cold weather, he was only wearing a T-shirt with a jacket over it, cargo pants, and military boots. His features were sharp and his muscles defined, giving off a tough vibe; even in the warm light, there was no softness to be found.

He stood there like a drawn sword. He said, "Abigail, we need to talk."

Abigail stepped aside to let him in. "Sure."

She went to the wine cabinet, pulled out a few bottles, and arranged them on the coffee table. "Go ahead," she said.

Austin nearly strained his back at her words and let out a cough. "No drinking," he replied firmly.

Although he wasn't a heavy drinker, he often drank with the guys. If they got drunk, they could just crash and sleep, no big deal. But drinking with a woman? What if he got drunk and did something inappropriate? That would be taking advantage of Abigail.

Abigail remarked, "I can drink a thousand cups without getting drunk."

"Even if you could drink ten thousand cups, it's still a no," Austin said as he put the wine bottles back in the cabinet. He had only seen one woman who could drink a thousand cups without getting drunk. He continued, "I don't know what you're going through, but since we know each other, tell me, and I'll help you sort it out. Then you can move out of here."

If the house were rented, it wouldn't matter, but it was bought and in Austin's name. It wouldn't look good if word got out that a girl was living here.

He walked back to the sofa and took out two stacks of money from his bag. "Take this money, and I'll help you rent a place. You can stay as long as you want, but you have to move out of here."

Abigail tilted her head and smiled, looking pleasantly agreeable. "Can you rent it in your name?" she asked.

Austin replied, "How is that different from you living here? Pick another condition."

He looked a bit fierce when he frowned.

"Alright." Abigail leaned in close and whispered something, and Austin's face instantly changed. He raised his voice. "Abigail, you're a lady."
