Chapter 86 Covered in Thorn and Still Ready to Fight

"Mm," Zachary replied tersely.

Winona waited for a while, but didn't hear the next sentence. Impatiently, she said, "If you have something to say, spit it out. If not, let go."

Zachary stared at her. His lips pursed thinly, not appreciating the sight before him. The woman in front of him had no issues in displaying her annoyance towards him.

Back in Regal Oaks, even if he was cold towards her, this woman always talked and laughed with ease. But now...clear as day.

He frowned slightly. "Let's go."

Winona didn't understand. Go where? Zachary was truly unpredictable, always doing things on a whim.

Seeing that she stood still and retreated with a guarded expression, as if he were a despicable untrustworthy man, Zachary felt a suffocating pain in his chest. He couldn't help but sarcastically say, "If you want to know who that person is, then stop being so hard-headed and just come with me."

"Just tell me the name. It's not safe for a man and a woman to be alone together so late at night."

Zachary's face could no longer be described as ugly. It was beyond that. He gripped the doorknob tightly, and the veins on the back of his hand bulged, indicating his absolute rage. Through gritted teeth, he said, "Winona, do you honestly think I would do something to you?"

"Who knows," Winona tilted her chin, although she stood half a head shorter than him, her aura was in no way inferior. The disdain in her eyes all too obvious. "You've been clinging to me during this period, and besides Fiona, there hasn't been a fixed woman who can satisfy your desires. When a man is deprived for too long, it's very possible for him to have psychological problems."

"Me to you?" Zachary's cold and piercing gaze swept over her. "It seems like you not only lack a brain, but you're also extremely over confident. A woman who has been married to me for three years and still fails to capture my interest, even after another three years, will still be just as boring to the point that I can't get hard."

Winona couldn't hold back and raised the shoe horn to hit him, but Zachary quickly grabbed her hand. "Are you a hedgehog in disguise, prickly all over and still resorting to violence?"

He pulled her out, using only one hand to pin her hands behind her back and threw the shoe horn on the ground. He walked towards the elevator, his posture embracing her as they walked.

Winona was forced to press against his chest, her body stiffening. She had no time to be angry at Zachary's words, as her mind was filled with...

She wasn't wearing a bra!

Although it was winter and her pajamas were thick, it wasn't noticeable unless one looked closely. However, being so close, she could feel that something was off.

She tensed her voice. "Let go, I can walk by myself."

Zachary looked down at her dismissively. "Do you think I believe you?"

"Well then, wait for me to go back and change into another outfit. At the very least, I should confront you while dressing more appropriately. This attire lacks presence," Winona said uncertainly, unsure if Zachary had noticed anything wrong. She glanced at his eyebrows and eyes. The man's expression remained as cold as ever, without any abnormalities.

She didn't know if it was because she wasn't wearing a bra, but her strong psychological reaction was evident. With every movement, she felt tortured by the friction.

She was both embarrassed and annoyed, feeling as if her head was about to explode. Unfortunately, Zachary remained indifferent, and she couldn't even vent her anger.

Out of nowhere, Zachary added, "Even if you wear the emperor's clothes, you still can't overpower anyone."

Bastard! Go to hell! I hope you never get Fiona in this lifetime!

Finally, she was brought into the elevator, and Zachary's car was parked downstairs.

After getting in the car, Zachary took off his coat and threw it to her. "Put it on, your clothes are far too ugly and unsuitable."

"If you find them so offensive, why didn't you let me change?" Winona was infuriated, removing the garment covering her head. Although angry, she put the coat on and buttoned it up.

Zachary pursed his lips and remained silent, his gaze casually sweeping over her before returning to the road ahead.

Although he showed no sign of abnormality, Winona always felt that the spot his gaze had just passed over... was her chest.

The place they arrived at wasn't far, as it only took half an hour to drive.

Winona looked at the upscale residential area in front of her and raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Here?"

"Mhmm."

This kind of residential area was inaccessible to non-residents. Even if they were looking for someone, they would need to call the resident and confirm through a video call.

However, the security guard only glanced at Zachary's license plate and respectfully opened the gate.

When they arrived at Building A, Apartment 2302, Zachary pushed the slightly ajar door open all the way and walked in. Winona hesitated for half a second before following suit.

But what she saw inside was completely unexpected...

There were over a dozen people in the living room. Aside from Layla, who was sitting in a corner trembling, and a woman she didn't recognize, everyone else was dressed in black suits, clearly Zachary's people.

Winona was momentarily stunned, "Layla?"

Layla was on the verge of tears when Zachary walked in, but before she could even shed a tear, Winona entered the room right behind him. Suddenly, Layla's pitiful expression turned into a condescending rebuke, saying, 'Winona, did you call these people here? What do you want? If you dare do anything to me, I'll tell Dad and have him deal with you!'

Ever since she was little and bullied by Winona, Layla always relied on Carlos for support, usually resulting in Winona getting a good beating. This time was no exception.

Winona coldly smirked and said, 'Sure, I'll help you make that call. Reporting is fine, but false accusations are not. These people don't seem like someone I can afford to hire.'

Before Layla could say anything, Zachary's indifferent voice echoed, 'Have they confessed?'

He was asking the bodyguard.

The bodyguard nodded, 'Yes, they have.'

'Tell them to reiterate what they just confessed.' Zachary glanced at his wrist, the telltale sign of his impatience.

Although Layla was afraid of this man, she refused to show any weakness in front of Winona. She snorted and turned her head away, but halfway through, the bodyguard grabbed her chin and forcefully turned it back, saying, 'If you don't want to suffer, speak quickly!'
