Chapter 441 Drunken Misconduct

Nicholas woke up at five in the morning. The unfamiliar surroundings made him tense up instantly. But then, the memories of last night came flooding back, and he remembered where he was.

The ceiling was dimly lit by the morning light, and everything was quiet.

He glanced towards the bedroom door, which was still closed.

Knowing Winona was just a door away, even though he couldn't see or touch her, made Nicholas feel content.

Unwilling to linger in bed, he got up silently, padding downstairs. Stepping outside, he was met with the sight of a familiar car parked by the roadside. The driver, seeing Nicholas, quickly opened the door.

Nicholas frowned and asked, "What are you doing here?"

He hadn't called for a ride. The driver glanced at the car, looking like he had something to say but hesitated.

Nicholas already knew. He walked over and saw Timothy sitting inside.

Timothy, in a white casual outfit, looked even more radiant. He smiled at Nicholas as he approached.

Nicholas asked, "Why are you here?"

"I went to your place, but you weren't there. So I called your assistant, who said you had an appointment with Miss Sullivan last night," Timothy said, glancing at the apartment behind Nicholas. "I figured I'd try my luck around the time you usually wake up, and here you are."

Nicholas got into the car and told the driver, "Take me to the office."

Timothy noticed how refreshed Nicholas looked and said, "Seems like you slept well last night."

Nicholas, busy with his phone, responded without looking up, clearly not wanting to discuss it.

"Do you like Miss Sullivan? If you do, I can talk to Dad; he won't oppose it, since she's just Zachary's ex-wife and not really part of the Bailey family."

He lowered his voice. "But she's pregnant with Zachary's child. As long as that child exists, she can never truly sever ties with the Bailey family. Why don't we..."

Nicholas cut him off, "It was just a drunken mistake, nothing more."

Timothy was surprised. "You two? But she's still pregnant."

Nicholas put away his phone and pressed his temples. "So we didn't have sex."

At the Bailey Group, Winona had just finished a meeting when she got a call from the front desk. "Miss Sullivan, someone is here to see you. He says his name is Timothy, Mr. Ramsey's brother."

Winona didn't remember Timothy's name, but hearing he was Nicholas's brother, she thought of the man she had seen in Nicholas's office last time.

They had no connection, so why was he looking for her? Was it because Nicholas spent the night at her place?

Winona had some questions for him too, so she agreed, "Alright, please have him wait. I'll be right down."

In the lobby, Timothy was sitting on the sofa with a glass of lemon water in front of him when Winona arrived. He was in a light-colored casual outfit, looking even more like a student with his well-behaved appearance.

"Timothy?" Winona called out.

Timothy stood up and flashed a smile. "Winona," he greeted.

Winona wasn't used to such enthusiasm, but Timothy was so well-behaved and cute that she couldn't bring herself to refuse him. She skipped the small talk and asked, "Is there something you need?"

She sat down on the sofa, and the receptionist poured her a glass of lemon water.

Timothy smiled and said, "Nothing much, just wanted to see my future sister-in-law."

Winona was mid-sip and started coughing violently. "What did you say?" she asked.

"Nicholas spent the night at your place, right?" he said mischievously. "He always has trouble sleeping and is always tired, but he seemed much more refreshed this morning."

Winona didn't know when Nicholas had left that morning. When she came out of her room, the sofa was already empty.

Being asked such a question by Timothy, whom she barely knew, made her feel embarrassed. "Did you and Mr. Ramsey grow up as neighbors?" she asked.

Timothy nodded. "Yeah, Nicholas has always been good to me. I used to be very introverted and often got bullied, but he always protected me."

"Does the Ramsey family not like Mr. Ramsey? I heard he has an older brother and sister. Why was he the only one sent to the countryside?" Winona asked.

Timothy explained, "Nicholas wasn't in good health. They said he went to the countryside to recuperate because the air is better there. For the first few years, he only went out for half an hour a day, and doctors frequently visited their home."

"Are the Ramsey family members good to him?" Winona found it hard to imagine how Nicholas got all those injuries.

Timothy shrugged. "I don't know. Although Nicholas brought me back to Dreamopolis, he didn't let me live with the Ramsey family. Instead, he bought me a separate house. But now he's the president of the Ramsey Group, so they must be good to him. Otherwise, why would they entrust the company to him?"

Winona asked questions, and Timothy answered obediently. Except for the things he didn't know about the Ramsey family, he could recount Nicholas's life in the countryside in great detail and vividly.

"Winona, you care so much about Nicholas. Do you like him? Do you want to know if he likes you?" Timothy said, pulling out his phone. "Winona, let's exchange contact information. I'll help you find out what Nicholas thinks."

Winona didn't care at all whether Nicholas had feelings for her. What she cared about was whether Nicholas was Zachary and, if he was, who had caused all his injuries.

She had no way to reach the people around him, except for Timothy, who had come to her. So Winona exchanged numbers with him.

"Can I take a picture with you?" Timothy asked.

Winona refused, "No."

Before Winona could finish her refusal, Timothy had already pressed the shutter. Realizing she hadn't agreed, he apologized with an embarrassed look. "Sorry, I acted too quickly. I'll delete it right away."

After deleting the photo, he got up to leave. As he left, he winked at Winona. "Winona, I'll call you later."

Outside the Bailey Group's main entrance, Timothy's obedient smile instantly disappeared. He looked down at the photo of the two of them on his screen and directly sent a message to Nicholas on WhatsApp: [Winona is really beautiful.]
