Chapter 693 Muscles in Chunks

Zachary reached over from behind and grabbed her phone. "I'll call in for you. Go back to sleep."

When Winona's alarm went off, he woke up too and saw her struggling to stay awake while texting Caleb.

"No need," she said, now fully awake thanks to his interruption. Especially when she felt his hand starting to wander again, she quickly sat up and scrambled out of bed. "I'm not sleepy anymore. I'll save my leave for our honeymoon."

Zachary's hand, which had just been on her waist, was now empty. Watching Winona almost panic as she dashed into the bathroom, he chuckled softly. "I just wanted to massage your back since it seemed sore. What were you thinking?"

When she finished getting ready, Zachary was already dressed, buttoning his cuffs in front of the mirror. With his good looks and great physique, the simple act was quite a sight.

As they headed downstairs together, Winona put on her shoes. "I'm going to a concert with Rebecca tonight. I'll be back late, so don't wait up for me if you're tired."

Zachary frowned. "What about Anthony? Shouldn't he be going with his girlfriend?"

Winona replied, "Not every event is suitable for a boyfriend. Concerts are better enjoyed with someone who shares your interests. Can you imagine Rebecca at a concert with Mr. Lewis? It'd be like taking her high school principal to a rave."

No way she could move freely, let alone wave a glow stick and scream.

Zachary pursed his lips. Though he wasn't happy about Rebecca taking up his time with Winona, he asked, "Where are your seats?"

"General admission," Winona said.

Rebecca had just become a fan of a new singer and bought tickets as soon as she heard he was coming to Dreamopolis. But since it was last minute, only general admission was left.

Zachary asked, "Which singer? I'll have Dylan get you two VIP tickets."

Winona told him the name. Zachary, phone in hand ready to call Dylan, paused and then put his phone away. "His singing isn't that great. General admission is fine."

Winona looked puzzled, but Zachary didn't explain. He took her hand. "You went to bed late last night. It's not safe for you to drive. I'll take you."

"Do you know that singer?" Winona asked.

"Yeah," he replied curtly.

She eyed him suspiciously. Was it really because the singer wasn't good that he didn't get them better tickets? She didn't buy it.

Winona quickly searched the singer's info on her phone. He was 25, 6'2", a popular heartthrob known for his singing and dancing. He often threw his clothes into the audience to hype up the crowd, making fans scream.

Though Zachary's expression was as calm as usual, she could see the suppressed frustration in his eyes. Winona swallowed. "If I say I didn't know beforehand, would you believe me?"

Zachary gave her a look she couldn't quite decipher.

Winona continued, "We only bought the tickets yesterday. Our seats are in the corner, far from the stage. Even if he throws his clothes, they won't reach me."

Zachary sighed, almost wistfully. "I've never been to a concert."

"Next time, we'll go together. These tickets were last minute."

He smoothly replied, "If I get tickets myself, can I bring a plus one?"

She saw through his ploy. "No, it's a girls' night. Bringing you would be awkward, not a family outing."

If she brought Zachary, Rebecca would definitely feel uncomfortable.

"Okay."

He agreed so easily, not trying to persuade her further.

At the museum, Winona realized why he agreed so quickly. Rebecca texted her: [I think Anthony put a tracker on me. He knows I'm going to a concert tonight and even which singer.]

[Winona, do you think he has some creepy habits? Like stalking or spying?]

[No way, this is too scary. I need to break up with him. I can't date a weirdo.]

Winona finally managed to type a reply amidst Rebecca's frantic messages: [Zachary probably told him.]

Rebecca: [...]

[Sorry, Rebecca. I mentioned it to Zachary this morning.]

[No worries. If Zachary didn't do stuff like this, he wouldn't be Zachary. We'll have our fun, and they can deal with it. Anthony can't stop me from going to a concert, right? I actually like it when he disapproves but can't do anything about it.]

She sounded tough, but in reality, she wasn't. All she could think about was the hundred times she had to copy legal clauses, her hand nearly giving out.

But going to a concert shouldn't be illegal, right? She paid for the tickets through official channels.

She decided to ask Howard, her not-so-bright friend, for advice. She sent him a detailed 60-second voice message, making sure to cover everything so Anthony couldn't find any loopholes.

Howard's reply was blunt: [No idea.]

That was the last straw. They spent the afternoon in a heated argument.

That evening, Winona and Rebecca met at the concert venue. The plaza was filled with people selling glow sticks and fan signs, and everyone entering had one.

To avoid being targeted by hardcore fans, they bought some too.

Rebecca, linking arms with Winona, was excited. "This star looks slim in clothes but is super ripped underneath. His abs are amazing."

As she spoke, she scanned the area, relieved not to see anyone familiar.

Winona, amused by Rebecca's sneaky behavior, asked, "Are you scared of Mr. Lewis?"

"No," Rebecca denied firmly, but Winona didn't believe her. Just as she was about to say so, Rebecca continued, "I'm not just scared of him. I'm scared of all lawyers."
