Chapter 17 Harassed

Inside the private room, Rebecca nudged Winona at her side, "What are you looking at? You're so lost in thought, you don't even respond when I call you."
Winona felt a bit dizzy and shook her head, "I think I saw Zachary..."
"What?" Rebecca didn't quite believe it and looked towards the entrance. It was empty, without a trace of anyone. "I think you're seeing things. Even if Zachary is at Night Club, he wouldn't be on this floor."
She pointed upward, "Those capitalists are looking down on everyone!"
Winona also felt like she had made a mistake, retracting her gaze and looking at the row of men standing in front of them, each with their own style. "Did you call them?"
"Yeah, I called them to pour us drinks. Since we already ordered drinks, might as well let them earn some commission," Rebecca said.
She had arranged for male attendants to come this morning in celebration of Winona being single again. But now, since the divorce didn't happen, they could only look but not touch.
Winona wasn't particularly enthusiastic about this kind of event, nor did she like drinking. However, Rebecca said they couldn't cancel the drinks they ordered, so she reluctantly downed two beers.
The consequence of finishing the drinks was that both of them ended up drunk. They were still conscious, but they were feeling really dizzy.
Two male attendants supported them, one on each side, but when Winona arrived at the elevator, she accidentally bumped into a middle-aged man in his forties. He was short and chubby, with a beer belly, and he was squinting at Winona with a serious expression. "Isn't this Winona? I'm Tim. We met at the Bailey Group last time. Do you remember?"
During that time, his company had encountered some problems, so he pulled some strings to meet Zachary and had a chance to meet Winona. Since then, he had been unable to forget about her.
Winona regained some clarity and pulled her arm out of the man's grip, her voice indifferent. "Tim."
"Are you here to drink with friends, Winona?" Two men standing next to them had Night Club badges pinned to their chests. They were obviously male hosts. "Why don't we find a private room to continue the fun? I happen to have something to talk to Winona about."
Winona's head was spinning, and she directly refused, "I'm sorry, if it's business-related, I'm just a small assistant and can't represent Mr. Bailey."
This man obviously didn't have good intentions, so she didn't mention her resignation. With Zachary backing her up, no one would dare to harm her.
"It's not business," seeing Winona's expression darken, Tim continued, "but it will definitely be good for Winona. I know you are not valued at the Bailey Group. You're called an assistant. Come work for me as an assistant, you can set your own salary, and you'll be the chief assistant. You'll be in charge of the entire assistant department. How about it?"
As he spoke, he tried to hold Winona's hand. "Although the Bailey Group is a big company, you won't be able to afford a New York apartment even if you work there for a lifetime. Follow me, and I'll take you to choose one tomorrow. It'll be directly transferred to your name."
Winona took a step back, pretending not to understand his implications. "I'm sorry, I don't want to buy a house in New York. I don't want to disappoint your kindness."
Tim had pursued many women before, and they all fell for his sweet words. He had never encountered someone who would reject him so blatantly. His face immediately changed, "Winona, don't force me. It's your fortune that I have started to like you. Be with me for three months, and I'll give you more money than you can earn in a lifetime!"
Winona's expression turned colder, "I don't..."
But Tim didn't give her a chance to refuse. He grabbed onto her hand and tried to forcefully drag her into the private room.
He dared to act so recklessly because he knew that the third floor was an ordinary area. People with a background and wealth would never encounter each other on this floor.
Winona struggled, trying to break free from his grasp. "Let go of me!"
Seeing this, Rebecca endured her dizziness and stood in front of her, swinging her bag and hitting Tim's head fiercely. "Let her go! How dare an ugly duckling covet a swan?!"
Tim was caught off guard by Rebecca's action and didn't react in time to defend himself. In an instant, he was hit and started seeing stars!
But this only lasted for a few short seconds. The man excelled in physical strength.
The dominant aura he exuded allowed him to quickly take control. With a wave of his hand, he forcefully pushed Rebecca against the wall. "You dare to hit me? I'll beat you to death!"
He lifted his foot and aimed a kick at Rebecca, completely disregarding the force. Luckily, due to his short and chubby stature, he could only manage to kick her thigh.
As the struggle continued, Winona pushed and pulled Rebecca behind her.
In the midst of the scuffle, Winona's peripheral vision caught sight of Zachary standing not far away, watching the scene unfold with a cold gaze. She couldn't tell how long he had been there.
Her resistance suddenly froze, and her blood ran cold from head to toe. After three years of marriage, was this how he coldly stood by, watching her being bullied?
The farce began quickly and ended just as swiftly, with Tim being restrained by the Night Club's security guards.
The manager of the Night Club walked over, first apologizing to Winona and Rebecca, then arranging for a medical examination and ensuring their well-being. Only then did he turn to the restrained Tim. "Tim, fighting and harassing female customers are strictly against the rules of the Night Club."
Despite the pain, Tim refrained from talking back. Although he didn't know who the big boss of the Night Club was, he knew full well that he was no match for him.
So he shifted the blame and pointed at Winona, "I didn't harass her. It was this woman who wanted to sleep with me, but she didn't like the price I offered, so she attacked me first!"
