Chapter 430 Be More Rational

Andrew said he had invited others, but even after they got to the court and changed clothes, no one else showed up.

Winona, who was now publicly known to be pregnant and unable to do anything too strenuous, still changed into sportswear. "Andrew, do you have any problems about that contract...."

Andrew, holding a golf club, waved her off. "Miss Sullivan, no business talk while we're playing. It's rare to get some free time, so let's just chill."

He glanced at Winona and said, "Miss Sullivan, do you wanna bet if I can make a hole-in-one?"

Matthew jumped in before Winona could answer. "I've heard you're pretty good at golf and have even won some awards. A hole-in-one should be easy for you."

Andrew smiled and nodded at him. As a guy, he could easily see through Matthew's intentions.

During a break, Andrew wiped his sweat and chugged most of a water bottle before speaking slowly. "Miss Sullivan, I've looked over the contract, but I think the profit share isn't quite right."

He held up a number with his fingers and said, "My investment stays the same, but I want an extra five percent profit on top of the original share."

Winona, though not a business expert, knew he was trying to take advantage. She had been involved in this project from the start, and Evander had calculated the costs. Andrew's request was just impossible. "Andrew, you're a businessman too. You should know that's not doable. We can talk about increasing the profit share, but shouldn't you also increase your investment accordingly?"

"No worries, I've also set up a meeting with Mr. Ramsey. If Miss Sullivan can't do it, I'll have to talk to Mr. Ramsey."

Matthew frowned and said, "Andrew..."

Just as Andrew was leisurely sipping his tea, he suddenly stood up with a big smile, looking in a certain direction. "Mr. Ramsey, we were just talking about you."

Winona was shocked to see Nicholas approaching.

Even though she knew he was always opposing Bailey Group, she was still new and not in the loop on all company matters, so she didn't expect to see him here.

At this moment, she regretted not being better at business.

Not only did she lack business skills, but she also seemed to have terrible luck, putting in a lot of effort with little return and constantly running into Nicholas.

She wondered if she had been cursed in a past life to deserve such bad luck.

Dylan glanced at the new assistant following Nicholas and said somewhat wistfully, "Mr. Ramsey looks too much like Mr. Bailey. Seeing a newcomer by his side, I feel a bit abandoned."

Seeing Nicholas, Winona knew today's deal was in jeopardy. Hearing Dylan's words, she felt irritated. "Mr. Collins, you need to be rational."

Noticing Andrew still chatting with Nicholas, Dylan curiously said to Winona, "Mrs. Bailey, do you think Mr. Ramsey is Mr. Bailey?"

Winona wasn't sure. They looked so alike that even twins wouldn't be this similar.

But seeing Dylan's curious expression, she changed her words. "If he were Zachary, would he be pushing Bailey Group to the brink? He's even stealing business right in front of us. He's probably planning to change Bailey Group's logo to Ramsey Group's."

Matthew, who was standing nearby, grabbed her wrist through her sleeve to comfort her. "That won't happen."

Winona was about to ask what he meant when Nicholas walked over. "Oh, Mr. Watson, Miss Sullivan, you are here too?"

His gaze swept over Matthew's hand on Winona's wrist, and he pursed his lips. "Miss Sullivan is pregnant. Even if Mr. Watson wants to pursue her, this isn't the right time. Aren't you afraid of gossip?"

Matthew quickly let go and explained, "Winona, I had no other intentions. I just didn't want you to be upset about Zachary. I didn't expect Mr. Ramsey to misinterpret it this way."

Nicholas remained silent and thought to himself, 'Matthew is so hypocritical, it's disgusting.'

However, Winona didn't seem to notice anything wrong and shook her head at him. "A person with a malicious mind sees everything as bad."

Sensing the tension, Andrew curiously asked, "Mr. Ramsey, do you know Mr. Watson and Miss Sullivan?"

Nicholas replied coldly, "I've just met them a couple of times."

He stood up, picked up a nearby golf club, and headed to the tee. Andrew followed. "Mr. Ramsey, how about the collaboration..."

"Andrew, no business talk while playing."

Andrew fell silent.

Those were the exact words he had said to Winona earlier, now thrown back at him.

If he hadn't been sure that Nicholas wasn't present when he said it and that Nicholas and Winona didn't seem to have any friendly relations—in fact, they seemed quite strained—he would have suspected Nicholas was deliberately targeting him to avenge Winona.

The atmosphere was awkward for over half a minute. Seeing no one speaking, Andrew forced a laugh. "Mr. Ramsey is right. We should relax during leisure time and not talk business. Let's play."

Nicholas lowered his hand, the club resting on the ground. "Andrew, did you bring the contract?"

Andrew was puzzled, thinking, 'Aren't they playing golf?'

Seeing Nicholas still staring at him, he quickly responded, "I brought it, I..."

Nicholas interrupted him, straightened up, and gripped the club again. "I've heard of your golfing skills, Andrew. I must learn from you today."

With a swing, the white ball traced a parabola in the air and landed precisely in the hole.

In the resting area, Matthew watched Nicholas's back with a complex expression. The conversation between him and Andrew was clearly audible to everyone.

Such obvious targeting—who would believe it wasn't intentional? If people sincerely discussed business, they wouldn't have such an attitude.
