Chapter 372 Bed Scene Photos

The Turner Family was just rolling in dough. They tossed out five million bucks like it was pocket change. Eva's words might've been grating, but she wasn't wrong.

Since the Turner Family head gave the green light, why not take it? After putting up with Eva's crap for so long, a little compensation was well-earned.

So, she shot a text to Rebecca: [Wanna hit the mall later?]

Rebecca was in a rough spot and wasn't feeling the shopping vibe. She replied with a crying emoji: [Nah, can't do it.]

After that, her eyes drifted back to the pile of shocking photos on the table, feeling totally bummed out. "Mr. Lewis, you don't have to be so intense. I was just talking out of my ass."

That day, Anthony asked her what BL literature was. What could she say in front of him? She had to wing it, "It's a different path from the usual."

Not a total lie, it really wasn't the norm.

Anthony didn't say a word and let her out of the car. Who knew he'd pull this stunt today? The table was covered in BL photos. No clue where he dug these up. She'd Googled a million times and never found them.

Probably 'cause she was too cheap to pay for anything.

Anthony looked at her, all serious, and said, "BL literature usually means romantic feelings between men that don't involve reproduction..."

Rebecca felt like she was sitting on pins and needles, squirming in her seat. She gathered the photos and shoved them back at him, "Put these away. My shop might not be busy, but sometimes customers come in. if  they see this stuff..."

She cleared her throat, "It's bad for business."

Inside, she was screaming, 'Anthony, are you nuts? Who talks about this with actual photos?'

Anthony said flatly, "If I'm not clear, you might not get it."

It wasn't about her not getting it; he was worried she'd deny it.

"Miss Davis, tell me, what did I do to make you think this?"

Rebecca said, "Mr. Lewis, how about I buy you dinner to apologize for my big mouth, and we call it even?"

Anthony said, "If Miss Davis can't give me a good reason, I'll have to sue you for slander and defamation, which could mean up to three years in prison or losing political rights."

Rebecca glared at him, teeth clenched, "I saw you hugging a guy on the street when I left the tea room."

Winona was running low on skincare stuff. After work, she hit the mall. It was hot, and the place was dead during the day.

Shopping solo sucked, so she quickly went to her usual spot. After grabbing her stuff, she walked by the bags section and remembered she promised Zachary a wallet when Matthew was in the hospital.

She'd said it when he got admitted, and now he was out, but she still hadn't given it.

She felt pretty bad about it.

Zachary usually rocked custom wallets, which Winona couldn't afford.

She browsed around, picked a few she thought looked cool, and sent them to him: [Which one do you like?]

Zachary shot back quick: [Which mall you at?]

Winona told him the mall's name: [Hurry up, the sales assistant's waiting. I gotta bounce after this.]

[I can't see clearly in the pics. I'll come over to choose.]

It took at least half an hour to drive from the Bailey Group to the mall. When Zachary showed up, Winona was sitting on a bench, bored out of her mind, scrolling through skincare product instructions. She looked super impatient.

Zachary walked over.

Winona started griping as soon as she saw him, "Aren't men's wallets all the same? Do you really need to pick one in person? Gonna analyze the leather too?"

She said this while heading towards the bags section, clearly in a rush to get it over with.

Zachary stopped her, "Chill, since we're here, let's look around."

Winona said, "Didn't you say shopping was a waste of your life? And asked me if I knew how much money you lose for every minute wasted."

"When did I say that?"

"About half a year after we got married. I asked you to go shopping with me, and you said it yourself."

She had slammed the door in anger back then.

Zachary remembered. It was the first time she had asked him out. He thought it was a date and happily had Dylan cancel a meeting, only to find out that she had not only arranged to meet Rebecca but had also delivered a thank-you gift to an infatuated male client.

For a $9.99 cup from an ex-girlfriend, the client spent tens of thousands of dollars to repair it, hoping to impress her. But by the time the cup was fixed, she was married, and the groom was his good buddy.

Why would Zachary go in such a situation? It wasn't really a date at all.

Winona said, "I was afraid it would be awkward with just the two of us since we didn't have much affection back then."

Zachary said, "Perfect, let's make up for it now."

Since there was nothing to buy, they shopped very casually.

Zachary frowned, "Can we hold hands? People might think we're inspecting the mall's operations."

Wherever they went, the sales assistants stood up straight.

Winona said, "Holding hands in public wouldn't be a secret relationship."

Zachary stayed quiet.

When they passed a handmade jewelry store, Winona finally slowed down. Girls couldn't resist shiny things, even if they didn't buy them, looking made them happy.

She casually tied her hair and picked up a crystal butterfly to pin in her hair, "Does it look good?"

She had an outfit that matched it.

Zachary said, "It looks good."

Winona picked up another one and compared it to her head, "How about this one?"

"Also looks good."

She scoffed, finding it uninteresting, "What's the use of you?"

Zachary said, "You look good in anything."

Winona tilted her head, about to explain how a good shopping buddy should not only give opinions but also help choose between two options. Before she could speak, the man kissed her on the lips, "No need to choose. If you like them, buy them all. Wear them if you want, toss them if you don't."

Not far away, Lydia, who had been tailing them from the first floor, widened her eyes in surprise and then excitedly slapped her husband's arm, leaving a trail of handprints.
