Chapter 644 Stupid

Even though she had called over twenty people, she didn't do anything inappropriate at the time. She didn't even touch anyone, just sat there singing the whole time.

But with Zachary staring at her so intently, Winona still felt a bit guilty. She licked her dry lips unconsciously. "It was just a misunderstanding, helping out with some performance metrics."

Zachary pulled her close. "I'm feeling a bit dizzy. Let's go back to our room and talk about this."

Nearby, Rebecca was twisting Anthony's arm. His muscles were so hard that her hand was getting sore, but he didn't even flinch. "You can talk about me all you want, but why drag Winona into this? Do you realize you're just trying to stir up trouble?"

Anthony shrugged. "Sorry, occupational hazard. I tend to tell the truth."

Rebecca fell silent.

Sometimes, it's better not to explain. The more you say, the worse it gets.

Seeing Zachary pulling Winona away, she quickly said, "I was the one who called those people. All twenty-something of them were sitting next to me."

She had caused this mess and didn't want Zachary and Winona to argue because of it.

Zachary glanced at her, his stern expression softening a bit. "Alright."

Although Rebecca could be annoying, she was genuinely good to Winona, which was why he tolerated her.

"Winona," Matthew stepped forward, standing in front of her. "If you need anything, call me."

He was wearing a bathrobe, but it was untied, revealing his chest, abs, and those long, strong legs, all exposed to everyone's view.

Zachary took a step forward, his tall frame blocking Winona's view completely.

This idiot looks skinny but actually has an eight-pack.

Matthew smiled and stepped aside.

Winona was being led towards the hotel by Zachary when she received a message from Rebecca. "The setup by the hot spring was specially arranged by Zachary. He's such an idiot, doing so much for you without saying a word."

Rebecca had been to this hot spring hotel before, and those services were all extra, and not cheap either.

Two hundred dollars in cost, sold for ten times that.

Winona looked at her phone screen, then at Zachary holding her hand, and chuckled softly. "What an idiot."

When they reached the room, Zachary was about to swipe the key card but paused. He turned to her. "Winona, I prepared a surprise for you. I hope you like it."

He handed her the key card and covered her eyes with his hand.

Zachary was a bit nervous. He had only told the hotel staff his requirements, so he didn't know exactly how it turned out, or if Winona would like it.

The door opened, and Zachary turned on the lights. As the room lit up, he removed his hand from her eyes.

Flowers, wine, pink and silver balloons, hanging lights, and scented candles.

It was already a couple's suite, and with the added decorations, the romantic atmosphere was overwhelming.

Zachary hugged her from behind. "Do you like the surprise?"

Winona nodded. "Yes."

It wasn't really a surprise. Knowing it was a couple's suite and seeing Zachary's reaction before entering, anyone could guess what was coming. But she liked it because Zachary had arranged it.

In a low voice, he said, "I booked a photographer."

"For what?"

"We haven't taken our wedding photos yet. I asked, and we can take a couple of casual shots tonight. We'll do the main wedding photos after you pick out your dress next week."

Winona fell silent.

They had both been so busy lately, they hadn't had time to discuss the wedding. She hadn't expected Zachary to arrange the wedding photos behind her back.

Zachary had thought about the photos before, but taking them here was a last-minute plan.

The first time they got married, they only registered, with no ceremony. This time, he wanted to make up for everything: the proposal, the wedding photos, the ceremony, the honeymoon. He didn't want to miss a thing.

And now, the photos were even more important. They would help him preserve memories in the future.

But since he hadn't discussed it with Winona beforehand, he wasn't sure if she would agree. Seeing her hesitate, Zachary said, "If you don't want to, we can schedule it for another time."

"Sure," Winona turned in his arms, wrapping her hands around his neck, smiling brightly. "Where's the photographer? If we're taking photos, why didn't we start at the hot spring?"

She seemed regretful. A petal bath would have made for beautiful photos. She couldn't help but laugh. "You finally got it right, setting up such a romantic scene, and didn't capture it. What a waste."

Zachary was silent.

He had wanted a romantic bath with her, without any interruptions. He hadn't expected so many people to join halfway through. "Did you invite Rebecca?"

"I didn't know you had planned all this," Winona said sheepishly. "I thought it had been a while since we hung out, and we had some free time, so I asked if she wanted to come. Sorry, we'll make up for this date next week."

Zachary was instantly cheered up. Now, even if Winona had invited a busload of people, he wouldn't mind.

Winona's smile faded slightly. "Now, let's talk about your issue."

"What issue?"

"The seduction plan," she said, tilting her head, her hand on his chest, her nails lightly grazing his tense muscles through the fabric. "Did it work? Is Ms. Harrington head over heels for you now? Will she do anything for you?"

With each word, Zachary's heart sank lower, not even feeling her teasing touch. "I didn't. That stupid idea was Matthew's. He was trying to shift the blame onto me, hoping to cause trouble between us so he could take advantage."

Winona fell silent.

Is this a friend or an enemy?

Zachary said, "He's an idiot. Stay away from him."

He had deliberately left his robe open in front of Winona. Who didn't know what he was up to?

Winona rolled her eyes and pushed him away. "Aren't we taking photos? Where's the photographer?"

Zachary, thinking she didn't believe him, quickly followed. "The photos can wait. Winona, the seduction plan really wasn't my idea."
