Chapter 329 Let Mr. Bailey Bathe Me
Under the blanket, Eva was secretly recording Winona with her phone.
She had set it up earlier, hiding most of the phone under the blanket, leaving just the camera exposed.
She even used a white decorative case to make it less noticeable.
Winona stopped the recording and casually wiped the bloodstains on Eva's clothes with her fingers. "Trying to use public pressure to stay in Dreamopolis? Miss Turner, you don't need to go to such lengths. If you want to stay, just stay. Dreamopolis isn't mine; I can't force you out."
Eva stayed silent.
Frank had always spoiled her. If it weren't for Zachary's influence, he wouldn't have insisted on sending her back to A City.
Now that she was injured saving Winona, public opinion would likely make Frank relent.
But even with her goal achieved, Eva felt no joy.
Winona glanced at her casted leg. "See, you could've just asked. Was it worth a broken leg?"
She had been battling Fiona since college; how could she really be afraid of Eva?
"Thanks."
Eva's eyes were full of anger, but she couldn't just lash out at Winona. She had to keep her emotions in check.
Winona offered some advice, "Next time, aim better. So much blood, and all you got was a broken leg? That's too fake."
Eva's eyes reddened, and she turned to Zachary, choking out, "Mr. Bailey."
She usually played the strong, seductive type, and showing vulnerability now could easily trigger a man's protective instincts.
Zachary looked up, but at Winona, not Eva. "When are we leaving? I'm hungry."
Winona was hungry too.
She felt jinxed by the Turner family. Every time she encountered them, something bad happened. Even their assistant took half an hour just to handle hospital admission.
Eva said, "I'm hungry too, and I need a bath and a change of clothes."
She reeked of blood.
If it weren't for the reporters earlier, she would've changed out of these clothes long ago.
Winona raised an eyebrow. "Are you asking me to help you bathe and change?"
Eva glanced at the bandage on Winona's hand. "You're injured. Let Mr. Bailey handle the physical work. You can go buy me a steak from Rustic Hearth Steakhouse."
The nearest Rustic Hearth Steakhouse was over ten kilometers away. With traffic and queues, it would take at least an hour to get back.
And asking Zachary to help her bathe and change clearly had other intentions.
Winona had thought Eva's scheme was aimed at her, but it was actually aimed at Zachary.
Winona turned to look at Zachary.
Even in a suit without a tie, with the top three buttons of his shirt undone, his prominent collarbones and well-defined chest muscles were partially visible.
He was as handsome and sexy as could be.
He was the kind of guy who could make women turn their heads just by standing there with a cold expression and his naturally noble and elegant aura.
Truly a man full of allure.
Even in a suit, he looked so tempting.
Winona forced a smile at him. "Alright, you two talk. I'll go get the food."
'Let's see if you still attract women,' she thought.
Zachary felt wronged and quickly caught up with Winona, who had already turned to leave. "She said it, and you're taking it out on me. Is that fair?"
His voice was full of grievance.
Eva could hardly believe that the man who was so formidable and decisive in the business world was acting like this in front of Winona.
Just like those humble men who pursued her.
But if it was Zachary, even if he was so humble, she would be willing to suppress her desire to conquer and stay with him.
But first, she had to take him from Winona.
Eva pitifully called out to him, "Mr. Bailey, considering I got hurt saving Winona, could you help me wipe the blood off my back and legs? I can handle the rest myself."
Zachary's handsome face was cold. "Sorry, I'm used to being pampered. I'm not good at taking care of people. I'm afraid I might accidentally break your other leg. I'll find a professional for you."
Eva clutched her clothes, tears welling up in her eyes. "Mr. Bailey, I got hurt saving your ex-wife. Don't you think it's ungentlemanly to say that?"
Zachary smiled, exuding an aura of authority. Even when he smiled, no one would think he was easy to talk to.
But Winona knew him well and could tell he was in a good mood.
The next second, Zachary said, "Miss Turner, if you like gentlemanly, elegant men, I can introduce you to one. Matthew, the only son of the Watson family."
He winced in pain, grabbed Winona's mischievous hand at his waist, and smiled. "Stop pinching, it won't look good later."
At first, his words seemed fine, but on second thought, something felt off, especially with his deliberate pauses and suddenly husky voice.
It was easy to think of something else.
But Zachary's expression was so normal that it made her seem particularly dirty-minded.
Winona glared at him and withdrew her hand, leaving the ward.
The driver who caused the accident was in the next room, guarded by the police. He hadn't woken up yet, and the reason for the crash was still unclear.
Zachary had left the matter to Dylan and didn't bother to ask, taking Winona downstairs instead.
They had just left when the assistant arrived.
Eva squinted at the door. "Take some photos of me lying alone in the hospital bed and send them to the reporters. Say that the artifact restorer Winona is heartless and immoral, leaving her savior lying in bed without dinner."
The assistant stood still and said, "Mr. Frank Turner called earlier, telling you to rest well and not mentioning returning to A City. For now, avoid provoking Winona and Zachary, behave well, and once you've recovered, and both Mr. Frank Turner and Mr. Kyle Turner have cooled down, it will be just a matter of a word if you want to stay in Dreamopolis."
Eva snapped, "Who do you think you are to give me advice?"
