Chapter 99 Teach Her How to Seduce Men

Winona left the Bailey Group on unpleasant terms, and as soon as she was out the door, she called Ryan.

"I want to file for divorce," she said.

Ryan had already explained all the requirements of filing for divorce in detail, so there was no need for him to say much now. He simply reminded her to gather the necessary documents.

After hanging up the phone, she let out a long sigh.

Winona had originally not wanted to make a big fuss and just quietly end the marriage, but with the Bailey family's prominence, the media was watching closely. Any little movement would become public knowledge. She didn't want to expose this disastrous marriage to the public, inviting criticism, sympathy, and ridicule, both overt and covert.

However, she hadn't expected that it would come to this in the end.

She found a café and ordered a simple meal, setting up a meeting with someone for an hour later.

At 6:40, a man wearing a black medium-length down coat and a windproof mask walked in. After scanning the café, he headed straight towards Winona's location. "Miss Sullivan," he said.

Luke took off his mask and said to the server who followed him to the table, "An Americano."

"I want you to investigate someone," Winona said, pulling out the photo of the person to be investigated from her phone and handing it over.

Luke used to be a journalist and was quite skilled at getting exclusive inside information that other reporters couldn't access. Moreover, he would give previews before exposing them, leaving those celebrities and influential figures with scandals in a state of fear and panic.

But later, due to being too high-profile, someone beat him up brutally, leaving him lying on the ground motionless, almost at deaths door.

Winona had inadvertently saved him, and thus, he owed her a debt of gratitude.

Luke glanced at the photo, then looked up and asked, "To what extent do you want the investigation?"

He had somewhat guessed that if she called upon him, it certainly wasn't just the surface-level news that anyone could obtain.

Looking at Layla, who was looking down with an arrogant expression in the photo, Winona's lips parted lightly. "To the extent that it ruins her reputation."

Luke didn't ask further and took out his phone to take a picture. He then asked for basic information about the person. "If there is any news, I will contact you."

Direct messaging such information could easily expose him.

"And also help me find some news about Zachary, especially any involvement with other women."

Luke shook his head. "I had followed him before, but as soon as he showed his face, he was caught red-handed. And the Bailey Group virtually monopolizes the entire New York media industry. Anything that has been exposed in recent years is what he allowed to be publicized."

Of course, there were also naive people who wanted to take a chance, but they would be pulled back within minutes. They put themselves in harm's way for a few minutes of fame, but such fools were now few and far between.

Although Winona was mentally prepared, she still felt a bit disappointed. "Alright, then I'll trouble you with Layla's matter."

After the matter was discussed, the coffee arrived just in time. Luke didn't linger and left with the coffee.

Winona didn't rush to leave. She sat at her spot, leisurely sipping her coffee. The vibrating phone on the table caught her attention.

Opening it, it was a text message from Carlos, expressing his feelings. Previously, they had talked about the future, trying to brainwash her about the importance of their family's prosperity. Seeing her ignoring him, now he started reminiscing about the past. However, he didn't know that ever since her mother passed away, all the memories of family in her life had turned into resentment towards him and Layla, the father and daughter.

Thinking that Layla would plummit from an arrogant corporate employee to a woman everyone would despise, all because of Zachary's irritating presence, Fiona was in a rage in the apartment. She threw and smashed everything she could find on the table, leaving a mess on the floor. Emily sat on the sofa, observing coldly, without stopping or approaching her, until Fiona finished venting. Then she spoke up, "What's the point of throwing things in front of me? Do you expect me to help you get justice?"

Her cold gaze swept over Fiona's face, where no longer could the marks of slaps be seen, but due to her recent emotional outburst, her face was still flushed. Combined with her exceptional appearance, it was quite enticing. However, considering her personality, Emily couldn't help but shake her head, feeling foolish. Yet, she was bound to this fool now!

"As for the painting, you don't need to worry, I'll handle it. What's most important for you now is to find a way to rekindle Mr. Bailey's past feelings for you. As long as he loves you, whatever you have done in the past won't matter," Emily pondered for a moment. "Tomorrow, I'll find someone to teach you how to seduce a man."

Fiona bit her lip tightly, feeling humiliated. "You want me...to seduce him?"

What else can you do? Do you really think you're a goddess, that you can make someone love you without doing anything?

Emily reluctantly suppressed her mocking words and patiently coaxed, "Fiona, I know you have high standards, but Mr. Bailey is clearly not falling for your usual tricks. Even if you can sway him with your past connection for now, what happens when that connection runs out? Don't assume that men are sentimental forever. They can go from love to no love, so why can't they go from no love to forgetting?"

She thought this would make Fiona realize, but instead, she firmly retorted, "He won't stop me from appearing in front of him."

Emily saw the determination in her eyes when she said this. "Why?"

Fiona didn't answer directly. "In any case, he won't."

Emily was speechless.

She had said everything she needed to, and if Fiona wanted to act foolishly, she couldn't forcefully open her mind and stuff her brain back in.

Over the next few days, Winona actively prepared the necessary documents for the divorce. Ryan had met with her once and said, "Miss Sullivan, the cases handled by Mr. Lewis are the kind that can be written in textbooks. Against him, I don't have the confidence to win."

He didn't hide his doubts about the outcome.

Anthony had been in the profession for many years and had never suffered a defeat. He however, still lacked confidence

"No."

She was prepared for a long battle.

A week after filing the lawsuit was the day of the trial, but due to Zachary's identity, the trial was not open to the public.

The courtroom was silent.

This was the first time Winona had seen Zachary since their last encounter. He was dressed in formal attire, looking sterner and more determined than she had ever seen him before. Anthony stood by his side, overshadowed by his presence.

He didn't look at Winona, but instead went straight to the empty seat beside him and sat down.

The already small waiting room immediately became tense.

Winona pressed her lips together and broke the suffocating silence. "Zachary, your waiting room is next door."
