Chapter 691 Stuff It in His Mouth
Winona had initially thought Zachary was just faking being scared to keep her from worrying, but after watching him for a few seconds, she realized his legs were genuinely shaky.
She stifled a laugh and helped him unbuckle his seatbelt. "I'll help you out. You good?"
That "you good?" seemed to hit a nerve for Zachary. He pursed his lips and gave her a slightly hurt look. His Adam's apple bobbed, and after a moment, he managed to say, "Yeah."
By the time they got off the roller coaster, everyone else had already left. They walked towards the exit under the watchful eyes of the staff and other visitors.
Winona felt a bit embarrassed, but Zachary stayed cool, acting like he didn't notice the attention.
As they went down the steps, Zachary stumbled, almost falling.
Winona, holding onto him with one hand and the railing with the other, couldn't help but burst into laughter.
She never expected a roller coaster ride to have such a big effect on Zachary.
Seeing her laugh so hard, Zachary couldn't help but smile too. He pulled her into his arms and said helplessly, "Is it really that funny?"
"No," Winona replied, trying to suppress her laughter and meeting his gaze with a serious expression.
Zachary let out a small "hmph." It was obvious she was holding back her laughter. He ruffled her hair and asked, "Wanna go on another ride or grab something to eat first?"
They had arrived at the amusement park around noon, and after two rides, it was already past four.
Winona said, "This park has four major roller coasters. The one we just rode is the launch type, which is fast but has gentler slopes. There are also suspended, flying, and musical ones, and even a family-friendly version..."
Zachary's legs, which had just recovered, started to feel weak again. The ride had left him so shaken that his head was still spinning, and he felt like throwing up.
He interrupted Winona, pointing to a small plane ride nearby. "How about we try that one? The line's shorter."
Winona clung to his arm, laughing so hard she was almost doubled over. "Sure."
After the plane ride, she didn't feel like going on any more rides. The night events had started, and every attraction had long lines. Plus, she was getting hungry. "Zachary, let's head back."
Zachary checked his watch. It was just after six. "You don't want to go on any more rides?"
Winona shook her head. "No, I'm kinda hungry."
"There's a restaurant over there. Let's grab something to eat." Amusement parks always had plenty of food options.
"I don't want to. The food's bad and overpriced."
A basic pizza cost over fifty dollars, and it wasn't even good.
Zachary suggested, "There's a fireworks show later. How about we watch that before we leave? It's already past six. If we go on one more ride, the timing should be perfect."
Winona wasn't particularly interested in the fireworks, but seeing how much Zachary wanted to watch, she agreed. "Okay."
The fireworks show started at 9:30 PM. Winona didn't want to go on any more rides, so she and Zachary headed to a restaurant.
After dinner, they watched a parade. With most visitors occupied by the parade, they finally got to go on a boat ride. It was a small boat that floated along a canal, with flowers on either side. It was so boring it almost put them to sleep.
By the time they finished the boat ride, it was nearly time for the fireworks. They walked hand in hand towards the exit.
Zachary asked, "Where do you want to go for our honeymoon?"
Winona hadn't thought about it. "Do you have time?"
Since he rejoined the Bailey Group, he had been incredibly busy, often working late into the night.
"I'll make time," he said. Even if he didn't have time, he would make sure to find it. He wanted to make up for everything he owed Winona before his condition became uncontrollable. "We can go anywhere you want. Samuel mentioned he wants to take Julia to see the Northern Lights."
Winona had never met Julia, but from the stories Zachary and Matthew told, she felt that Julia was capable of anything.
Zachary thought for a moment and said, "Do you want to join them? It could be fun."
Winona was speechless for a while. "Does Samuel know he has a friend like you?"
Watching someone else's drama wasn't something a good friend would do.
Zachary replied, "He knows. So, do you want to go? But there are no Northern Lights in the summer."
Winona, caught up in his excitement, started to look forward to it. "Let's go somewhere else. Once Alton's situation is resolved, we'll go on our honeymoon and invite Samuel and Julia too."
As the fireworks exploded overhead, the sky lit up with countless sparks.
Winona looked up, her face full of joy. "These are beautiful. I've seen the fireworks here before, but today's seem especially stunning."
There were many patterns she hadn't seen before.
"Yeah," Zachary agreed, looking up with her. Unlike her, he seemed a bit nervous.
Another firework exploded, but this one was different. As it burst, words slowly appeared: [Winona, I love you.]
Then another: [We are married.]
There were gasps and whispers around them.
"Oh my God, it's that billionaire proposing. How romantic!"
"I've never seen fireworks spell out words before. I always thought it was a special effect."
"Isn't that my husband? How could he get married without me?"
"Find the groom! I think I could be with him, even if he's three hundred pounds. I'd happily be his mistress and never ask him to divorce."
Winona was equally surprised. She turned to Zachary. "Did you plan this today?"
"I had it arranged earlier."
Zachary breathed a sigh of relief. There were so many uncontrollable factors with these shaped fireworks. He had a backup plan with drones, but thankfully, it worked out.
Winona watched the sky, each declaration leaving a deep impression on her heart, even though they only lasted a few seconds.
She held Zachary's hand, not saying anything overly sentimental, just, "We are married."
He tightened his grip, interlocking their fingers, palm to palm.
