Chapter 259 You've Been Bullied To Death

Zachary's expression was indifferent as he lifted his foot and forcefully stomped toward the man's lower abdomen.

At first, Zachary exerted only minimal force, but the deliberate left-to-right grinding pressure of his foot, coupled with the gradually intensifying strength, inflicted excruciating pain.

Oddly, the poised Zachary standing there exuded an air of nonchalance, save for the piercing coldness and sharpness in his gaze.
His visage displayed hardly any emotional fluctuation—it could even be described as elegant.

Merely judging by his countenance, one would never associate such brutality with Zachary's current expression.

Within the cramped compartment, the man's anguished cries resonated.

Although Winona was not a man, at that moment, she too seemed to experience a sense of agony, her legs tensing up.

The man strained to pry Zachary's leg off, attempting to dislodge the foot pressed against his lower abdomen, yet no matter how much force he exerted, his adversary remained unmoved.

Thus, the piercing cry that surpassed all others echoed through every floor as the elevator descended.

When the elevator stopped at their desired floor, Winona didn't even wait for the doors to fully open before hastily darting out.

It was only when her feet touched the floor that she finally relaxed her tense body.
Given the indentation in the metal walls from the impact, which was a testament to the ferocity of Zachary's kick, she truly feared the elevator might plummet downwards.

Winona said, "Zachary, that's enough. If you continue, this person might end up disabled..."

In the event that Zachary ended up in prison, Winona would have to visit him, further complicating their already intricate relationship.

Zachary remarked, "You're pleading for him."

"I'm not. I'm worried you'll get into legal trouble. Although there's Anthony, the evidence of your crime is clear." She gestured towards the glaring surveillance above.

Zachary turned to her. He couldn't help but chuckle. "If you didn't run so fast, your words might have been more convincing. Are you not wanting to visit me in jail, or are you afraid of having a criminal record, making it hard to find a partner in the future?"

Winona fell silent.

Though that's what she thought, there was no need to say it so directly.

Seeing her silence, Zachary's cold smile deepened.
He bent down, grabbed the man's collar from behind, dragged him out like a dog, and threw the man at Winona's feet. "Apologize to her."

The man lay disheveled, curled up on his side after being tossed over.

The hotel manager, monitoring the situation through surveillance, identified the floor they were headed to.

Waiting outside, he witnessed the unfolding events on the monitors.

Despite being well aware of Zachary's background, a figure scarcely unfamiliar in Mode City, the manager hesitated to meet Zachary's gaze. Moving cautiously, he approached and offered assistance. "Sir, allow me to accompany you to the hospital first."

Upon observing the multitude of hotel staff outside, the man grew bolder. He pointed sternly at Zachary and declared, "You just wait for me. I will quickly summon assistance, and today, I will ensure your demise."

Before he could even retrieve his phone, the manager leaned in close to whisper something in his ear.

In the span of a heartbeat, the enraged man transformed into a suffocating bird, his face flush with anger now devoid of sound, swiftly carried away by others.

Zachary glanced at the phone in Winona's hand; the video had already ended.
"You should have asked for more. You are easily pleased with a few kind words. By the time he arrives, you've already been bullied to death."

Winona replied, "It is often remarked that the more lacking one is in something, the more susceptible they become to its allure. Given my susceptibility to the pleasing words of others, it could be attributed to the stark contrast of your honesty."

As they spoke, the two had already reached the door of the room.

Winona swiped the card to open the door. Before entering, she softly said, "Thank you."

Zachary also pushed the door open and entered.

Although he had stayed a night last night, upon entering the room, the cramped space still made him furrow his brows. This was his first time staying in a regular room. Even in a five-star hotel, the room size remained the same.

He stood by the bed, pulled back the covers, and immediately noticed the sheets still needed to be changed. The housekeeper had only tidied up.

Feeling a bit annoyed, Zachary called the front desk. "Have housekeeping come up to change the sheets and covers. They can swipe indirectly, so there is no need to knock."

After hanging up, he went to take a shower.

He had been sitting in the bar for a while, the smell of alcohol and smoke clinging to him.

Just as Winona put on a headband, preparing to remove her makeup, there was a knock on the door.

She guessed it was probably Matthew.

Opening the door, it was indeed him.

His gaze roved up and down Winona, acknowledging Zachary's presence as a safeguard yet feeling compelled to witness it firsthand for reassurance.
"Sorry, I should have escorted you downstairs earlier."

He truly hadn't expected Winona to encounter trouble just taking an elevator.

Winona waved her hand. "The mere one percent chance of such an occurrence, something unimaginable beforehand, coupled with the fact that I am unharmed, alleviates the need for any apologies from your end."

Her reassurance didn't work. Matthew appeared even more upset, pretending to smile, and said, "I'd rather you blame me."

Even the most rational individuals tended to lose their rationality when they encountered someone they were fond of.
They were not inclined to calculate the odds of things going awry. Instead, they wondered why that person was not by their side when trouble arose.

Winona chuckled awkwardly, choosing not to continue the conversation.

As the atmosphere grew increasingly tense, a delicate and seductive woman walked over. If Winona weren't a staunch atheist, she would have thought she saw Medusa.

She flirted with Matthew, handed him a business card, then pushed open Zachary's slightly ajar room...

The door closed behind her.

Winona's brain froze for a moment. She looked at Matthew only to find him looking back at her.

She cleared her throat, somewhat uncertain. "Is Zachary seeking the company of such women?"
