Chapter 451 The Identity is About to be Exposed

Winona was extremely embarrassed and didn't dare to look at Matthew's expression. Her gaze went over his shoulder and she glared fiercely at Nicholas.

Matthew wasn't anyone special to her, so why should he rush to save her? How could he have the nerve to blame someone else?

He wasn't hired as her bodyguard, needing to watch over her 24/7 to see if she got hurt.

Winona said, "How do you know that every time I get hurt, Matthew isn't on time? Since I've known Mr. Ramsey, I've only been hurt this once."

'Let's see how you explain this,' Winona thought.

"Since we're dealing with the Bailey family, it's natural to know them well. I know not only how many times Miss Sullivan has been hurt and the specific scenarios, but also when your housekeeper goes on and off duty."

He seemed quite proud of himself.

Matthew shot back, "Compared to a dog that barks when it sees someone it likes being bullied, it's a bit lacking."

Nicholas remained silent.

This sounded oddly familiar. After thinking for a moment, wasn't this the same thing he had said to Matthew last time?

The orthopedics department was on the first floor. Matthew placed Winona on a bench outside the consultation room and then went to the payment office to register.

Richard asked, "Mr. Ramsey, should I register for you as well?"

He didn't dare look at Matthew. Just a moment ago, he was saying that Matthew looked like he couldn't lift a finger, and the next moment, Matthew was carrying Winona into the hospital without breaking a sweat.

Matthew heard this and looked Nicholas up and down. "Mr. Ramsey is injured too? But I heard it was the Bailey Group's team that had an accident. Did Mr. Ramsey get so scared by the scene that he threw out his back?"

Failing to win over Winona, Nicholas still felt a bit satisfied seeing Matthew annoyed.

"I..." Nicholas wanted to save face in front of his rival, but then he remembered he had used the excuse of being injured to get Winona into his car. If he got exposed, wouldn't it be blatantly telling Winona that he was a liar?

Although he was using Nicholas's identity now, once he resumed his real identity, every single thing would be counted against Zachary.

Noticing Winona's gaze, he reluctantly admitted, "Just a minor injury, nothing serious."

Matthew glanced at his abdomen and remarked, "Mr. Ramsey's body seems a bit weak."

Nicholas snapped, "Where are you looking?"

Winona withdrew her gaze from their backs. Childish men.

They went to the registration office, leaving only Winona and Richard outside the consultation room.

Richard said, "Miss Sullivan, would you like some milk tea? I saw a place selling it across the street. I can get it for you."

The young girls in the company all liked to drink that stuff.

"No need," Winona said, seemingly casually, "Are you Mr. Ramsey's assistant now?"

"Yes, my name is Richard. If you need anything, just let me know, and I'll make sure to get it for you."

This could be the future boss's wife, so he needed to curry favor.

"What about the assistant who used to be with Mr. Ramsey, Leon?"

"Leon accidentally fell down the stairs at the company and broke his leg. Mr. Ramsey gave him six months of injury leave."

Winona asked a few more trivial questions, seemingly out of boredom, before getting to the main point. "How is Timothy's relationship with Mr. Ramsey? He came to see me last time, and I felt their relationship wasn't very good."

That was definitely to coax him.

Timothy often mentions Nicholas, and every time he does, his face is full of pride and satisfaction. If Nicholas's attitude towards him wasn't normal, even somewhat indulgent, she would have thought they had some unspeakable secret relationship.

Richard didn't know how to respond. He really wasn't clear about Nicholas and Timothy's relationship, but since Winona asked, he couldn't play dumb.

This wasn't just any nomarl question; it was clearly meant to test his attitude.

"Hard to say," he frowned, thinking carefully, "On the surface, they seem fine, but Timothy seems to be wary of Mr. Ramsey, like..."

He couldn't quite describe the feeling. After thinking for a while, he suddenly had an idea. "It's like walking a dog. Timothy holds the leash, and wherever he goes, Mr. Ramsey has to follow. He doesn't allow Mr. Ramsey to have any thoughts different from his own."

Winona remained silent.

What a vivid and accurate metaphor.

Matthew finished registering and came over to carry Winona into the consultation room. After the doctor examined her and took an X-ray, he confirmed there were no bone injuries. "Don't use hot water to compress it for now, and try not to move. Rest for a while, and you'll be fine."

"Okay."

Next, it was Nicholas's turn. No issues at all.

Matthew bent down to carry Winona as before, but Nicholas intercepted his hand. "Let me do it. I saw Mr. Watson's hand shaking when he was paying. If you can't carry her, just say so. Don't drop her."

Their eyes met, neither willing to back down.

Matthew leaned in with a smile and whispered so only the two of them could hear, "Zachary, your identity is about to be exposed. If you're not careful, it will be completely revealed. Can you acknowledge her now? Can you openly carry her around? If you dare, I'll leave right now."

Nicholas remained silent.

Such hypocritical people were always best at attacking where it hurt the most.

He withdrew his hand.

Just as Matthew lifted Winona from the chair, someone rushed into the room—it was Timothy.

He looked anxious, his face pale, and his eyes fixed on Nicholas. "Nicholas, I heard you were hurt. Are you okay? Is it serious?"

Nicholas handed him the X-ray. "No, I accidentally hit my hand on the railing. It hurt a lot, so I thought it might be a fracture and came to the hospital to check. Miss Sullivan was also injured, and I brought her along."

This was easy to verify, no need to hide it.

Timothy finally noticed Winona being held by Matthew. He turned his face, wearing an innocent smile. "Winona, how could you be so careless? You seem seriously hurt; you might be bedridden for months."

After hearing Richard's words, Winona couldn't see the sunny, smiling man in front of her as an innocent youth. She gave a perfunctory smile.

But before she could respond, Timothy's attention shifted to Matthew. "Is this your boyfriend? He's really handsome. You two make a great couple."

Winona corrected him, "Just friends."
