Chapter 409 Just Kill Him

On this ship, there were fifteen people on the other side, including the captain and that secretary who clearly wasn't much of a fighter. Handling them shouldn't be too tough.

"Mr. Bailey, no need to be so on edge around me," Kyle's voice came from the doorway.

A few heads turned to look.

He was in a suit, with the secretary trailing behind him, looking pretty harmless at first glance. "I want to live, so I'm here to strike a deal. Hope you won't stick to me like bloodhounds."

He sat down with a cold smile, "I've never killed anyone. In business, I've been a bit ruthless, but always within the law, so I'm not scared of an investigation."

His relaxed expression suddenly tightened, eyes turning cold and stern. He switched gears and asked, "Frank, where's the painting I asked you to bring?"

Zachary frowned and said, "How did you get on the ship?"

Before boarding, Frank's crew had searched everyone, and all faces on the ship had been scanned. If he popped up now, either there was an insider, or there were hidden spots on the ship, which could mean more than fifteen people.

"On a ship this big, hiding one person is a breeze," he asked impatiently again, "Where's the painting?"

There was a hint of urgency in his voice.

Frank said, "What did you mean by the message you had the secretary deliver? What do you mean she chased after it herself? If you don't answer, I won't give you the painting."

"How do I know you'll give me the painting if I tell you," he said in a questioning tone, "You probably don't even have it."

The painting was something he had Grace take to Yara for restoration, but that woman refused to accept it no matter what. However, her husband was a weak point. With some manipulation and the promise of a large sum of money, he was quickly subdued.

After Yara died, he sent people to search for the painting, but they couldn't find it anywhere in the Sullivan Family mansion.

The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed. Kyle lost control and said in anxiety, "Let's each take a step back. Have your man hang the painting there, I'll verify its authenticity, and then I'll tell you what you want to know."

Frank gave the painting to a bodyguard, who hung it on a hook above the opposite window.

Winona finally saw the mysterious painting closely related to her mother's death. It had been soaked in water and was only half-restored. It was completely unremarkable, just an ordinary landscape painting, not by any famous artist. It was at most thirty years old.

"You couldn't find it because she had placed it somewhere else in advance," Frank's breath was a bit unsteady, "Now tell me the reason."

Yara had turned down the job because Frank had shown her a painting by the old lady in his family before, so she recognized it as her work. She didn't want to get mixed up with Frank again or get tangled in the Turner Family's mess. But sensing danger, she stashed the painting at Hillside Villa. She didn't know its exact purpose but hoped it could help him.

Winona's first thought was Hillside Villa.

Kyle knew about that place too, but only found out in the last couple of years. He sneered, "She was really devoted to you. I didn't have her killed. I just found someone, had him wear that suit, and hang around her route home from work. When she saw him, he pretended to get knocked out by a driver and dragged into a car. Normally, she could just call the cops, but she insisted on chasing after him, trying to stop him herself. Do you think she was stupid?"

Kyle completely ignored Frank's dark expression and kept going, "That driver loved to drink. He had just been to a wedding that day and got drunk. When the two cars collided..."

He exclaimed twice, describing the scene with excitement, "The car was smashed to pieces, parts flying everywhere, blood seeping out from the deformed car door. It was as tragic as it could get. But the law can't touch me. I didn't kill her. I was just bored and staged a play. Who knew that woman would go crazy and crash into the truck."

"You're such a jerk," Winona was now truly ready to kill him.

She had the knife Rodolfo gave her yesterday in her bag. Just as she reached for it, Kyle said with a sinister and cold smile, "This cabin is full of silent surveillance, and it automatically sends to the police. If I die, you'll spend the rest of your life in prison."

He was too arrogant!

He thought they couldn't do anything to him, so he dared to provoke them so recklessly.

The string in Winona's mind felt like it was plucked hard by a giant hand, leaving her mind blank. She gripped the knife handle and wanted to kill him.

"Winona..." Zachary quickly grabbed her, holding her in his arms as he said, "Don't be impulsive. It's not worth losing your life over someone like him. Let's get him to the police first. Anthony will definitely find a breakthrough. Even if he can't, don't leave any evidence behind."

The meaning in his words was already very clear.

Kyle didn't care at all. After today, he would be leaving the country. No matter how powerful Zachary's influence was, could it extend overseas?

He looked at Frank, whose face was pale and jaw clenched, and said, "Frank, Dad loved you the most when he was alive. He gave you the company, the authority of the steward, and even wanted to give you that painting. Are the rest of us nine kids just picked up?"

Frank's voice was hoarse, filled with rage. He said, "What secret does that painting hold?"
