Chapter 225 Mr. Bailey's Pursuit of His Wife's Life in Danger

The manager was speechless. He felt that Mr. Bailey's pursuit of his wife had taken a turn for the worse. Mrs. Sullivan was cunning and harbored the worst intentions toward Mr. Bailey. He believed that this situation was irreconcilable.

Winona had already entered the elevator and pressed the button for the seventh floor, but the elevator didn't respond. She pressed it several times, but still no response. Winona coldly pressed all the surrounding buttons and found them to be functioning normally except the button for the seventh floor. It was clear that only the seventh floor was sealed off, and she didn't need to guess why.

Sensing Mrs. Sullivan's potential misunderstanding, the manager hurriedly interjected, "Mrs. Sullivan, please don't be upset. Mr. Bailey is currently on the first floor, acting out of concern for you."

The manager's deftness in handling the situation showcased his adeptness with women. With concise precision, he divulged Zachary's location, avoiding any unnecessary elaboration. Concerned that he might not get another opportunity to speak, the manager subtly hinted that Mrs. Sullivan might assume Mr. Bailey was now in Ms. Clark's bed.

Winona said, "There's no misunderstanding. I told her when I drugged her that it was all up to her luck. If she can have Zachary protect her like this, it's also her luck."

Just sealing off a floor, and she wasn't surprised that Zachary had closed the entire Night Club on her.

This wasn't a misunderstanding yet?

The manager, disregarding whether Winona would be pleased or not, continued, "It's because Ms. Clark's behavior was inappropriate after getting drunk. Mr. Bailey was afraid that she might say something unfavorable to you, so he had the seventh floor cleared. Other than that, Mr. Bailey didn't do anything. He didn't even call a doctor."

As Winona repeatedly pressed multiple floor buttons and occasional guests boarded the elevator, its descent became unusually slow. Positioned at the innermost corner, she sought solace in the soothing music filling her ears. Despite her mental exhaustion, she found herself yawning repeatedly, tears brimming in her eyes, causing their corners to turn red.

The elevator stopped on the first floor.

As soon as the doors opened, she saw Zachary standing outside. He furrowed his brows as soon as he saw her. "Have you been bullied?"

Winona was puzzled.

Before she could explain, Zachary shifted his gaze to the manager beside her and asked, "Didn't I tell you to go up and watch? Did you just let her cry after being bullied?"

The manager was speechless. "I didn't. I was wronged. I was watching her." Seeing that Mr. Bailey's expression was becoming increasingly unfriendly, the manager hurriedly explained, "Mrs. Sullivan wanted to go see Ms. Clark just now, but the floor was sealed off. She probably thought you were trying to protect Ms. Clark."

Upon hearing this, Zachary's expression improved significantly. He no longer maintained his usual cold attitude. "I wasn't trying to protect her. If you want to vent your anger, there are other ways. There's no need to resort to methods that would harm you."

"But I feel that this method is the best way for me to vent," Winona replied with a fake smile. "But it doesn't matter. I've said it before, it's all up to her luck. I can afford to gamble, and I can afford to lose."

Winona's words shut down whatever Zachary was about to say next.

With Winona's visit, there would soon be a confrontation upstairs. After all, the bouncers at the Night Club were strong, and the people sent to investigate the truth were all quite intimidating. Lily, Alice, and Ann were just ordinary people. Even if they dared to drug someone, their mental strength couldn't compare to that of professional criminals.

However, what surprised Winona was that the mastermind behind all this turned out to be Lily.

The manager explained, "Lily has recently encountered some serious issues in her family and is in urgent need of money. According to the surveillance footage in the private room, Lily did indeed tamper with your drink."

Winona's emotions were a tumultuous mix of shock, betrayal, and disbelief.

The manager then asked, "Do you want to go up and meet this Lily?"

Winona promptly replied, "No need."

What would she have said if she had met her? Asked her why she wanted to harm her?

The answer would obviously not have brought her any joy. Why would she have willingly invited such unpleasantness?

Zachary asked, "What do you want to do about this Lily? If we report her, it will inevitably involve Fiona as the mastermind. And she is currently lying in bed, suffering. It will be troublesome to explain to the police."

This farce had already taken up so much time, and now it was past two in the morning. Winona was almost falling asleep. She yawned and forced herself to stay awake to speak.

Zachary, who had been silently watching her, suddenly stood up and swept her into his arms. "If you need money, then make her spit out all the money she received."

If it were up to him, he wouldn't let the matter go so easily. But in front of Winona, he restrained some of his inherent cruelty.

Winona was about to doze off, but his embrace immediately woke her up. "Zachary, what are you doing?"

Zachary replied, "I'm tired. I'm going upstairs to sleep."

"No need, I'll go home to sleep," Winona responded.

Zachary raised an eyebrow. "What, you're leaving after using me?"

He paused. "When you were using my people just now, it seemed quite convenient, didn't it? Now that things are clear, you turn your back on me?"

Winona was speechless. She was certain that the bad man had something else in mind just now, and it definitely wasn't about her using his subordinates.

Holding her, Zachary could clearly feel the woman's body tensing up at the mention of going upstairs to sleep. He said in a displeased tone, "I live in the room next to yours."

This time, Zachary brought Winona to his exclusive suite, where his presence was evident everywhere. His scent permeated the room, even on the sheets.

As Winona lay in the bed, she couldn't help but feel as if she was being held by him. Annoyed, she kicked off the covers and turned over. But she couldn't resist for long and soon pulled the covers back over herself.

It was too cold.

Before falling asleep, in a daze, she thought that she had worked at the Bailey Group for some time, and she was familiar with most of their businesses, but she never knew that the Night Club also belonged to Zachary.

However, it was normal for wealthy individuals to own one or two clubs. It not only made business discussions convenient and secure but also allowed them to access many secrets not known to outsiders. People tend to be more loose-lipped after a few drinks.

The next day, Winona was awakened by a knocking on the door. She reached for her phone and, with great effort, opened her eyes to check the time. It was just a little past seven in the morning.

She had slept for less than four hours.

The knocking continued, and Winona got up to open the door, expecting Zachary. To her surprise, it was Fiona.

The effects of the drug hadn't completely worn off yet, as her face was still flushed. She had changed into a set of clothes, probably belonging to one of the other girls. The outfit was revealing, and Fiona had even struck a seductive pose.

But when she saw Winona behind the door, her face instantly changed. "Why is it you?" she exclaimed.
