Chapter 217: It Will Pass After A While

Winona looked at Lily and Ann, who were already drunk, but not intoxicated. It seemed like they would have to wait a while longer before getting drunk.
She said, "Alright."

She took a sip of her drink and told the two of them, then left the private room with Alice.
When they passed by the public restroom outside, Alice said, "Winona, my stomach suddenly hurts. I'm going to the restroom, wait for me."
"Okay."

Each private room had its own restroom, so the public restroom outside was empty.
Winona leaned against the wall, feeling a bit uncomfortable. She wasn't sure if it was because she had too much to drink, but her mind was fuzzy and the scenery in front of her was becoming blurred.

She shook her head and thought about going to the sink to wash her face with cold water to sober up. However, after taking only a few steps, her legs gave out and she fell to the ground. However, she didn't completely pass out, she just didn't have any strength in her body and could only sit on the ground half-kneeling, half-crouching.

This symptom didn't seem like being drunk, but more like being drugged.
"Alice, Alice..."

Her voice was too soft, even if Alice was right next to her, she probably wouldn't hear unless she got closer.
Winona trembled as she reached for her bag and tightly held the self-defense stun gun in her palm. She was afraid that those loan sharks would come looking for trouble again, so she had been carrying this thing with her all the time. Her other hand found her phone and she dialed the number of her emergency contact.

The emergency contact she set was Zachary.
It was set during her marriage, when she first got a new phone. A window popped up asking her to set an emergency contact, so she set it without thinking much about it. She had forgotten to change it after getting divorced. After all, she probably would never use it, and who would remember to change these things?
She had never used it before and didn't even know if it would go through.

After doing all this, Winona had exhausted all the strength in her body. Her hand went limp and the phone fell to the ground.
It felt like there was a layer of veil covering her vision. It was all white and she couldn't see the contents displayed on the screen, nor could she see where the speaker button was. She could only try to press her ear close to the phone while lying on the ground.

Winona didn't know if she had successfully made the call, because she didn't hear any sound.

Someone stood in front of her, casting a shadow over the light above her head. The person knelt down slowly and took the phone on the ground. In the process, their fingers touched Winona's ear that was pressed against the phone.
Although Winona couldn't see clearly, she knew what they were doing. She wanted to stop them, but she had no strength. She didn't even have the strength to reach out, let alone snatch it back.
The person looked at the name displayed on the screen. "So many people, why did you have to call him?"
The voice reached her ear like it was muffled by water, indistinct and unclear. She had to repeat the content in her mind several times to barely understand the meaning.
But she could sense a kind of infuriated resentment from within the voice.
The phone call was abruptly ended and the cell phone was turned off and thrown into the nearby trash can, along with the electric shocker she was holding tightly.

Winona squinted her eyes, trying hard to see the face of the person in front of her. "Who are you?"

The other person did not answer her. The next second, she was helped up from the ground by someone and supported by two people, one on each side.

Winona didn't know where the person was taking her, but based on her perception, they should be going upstairs.

The hotel was upstairs from the Night Club.

Winona was practically being dragged along, unable to muster the strength to resist. Judging from the force, height, and muscularity of the person holding her, they were two men. "Can you help me make a phone call to my friend? Price is negotiable."

"Heh--" she heard a mocking laugh.

In a daze, Winona was thrown onto the bed, followed by the sound of retreating footsteps. However, after a long time, she didn't hear the sound of the door closing.

Were those people really planning to leave her here to be taken advantage of?

Winona bit her lip, feeling hot all over. Her head was filled with hot air, making it impossible for her to think. What made her even more uneasy was the tingling sensation emerging from her abdomen, which was eroding her sanity. Her body unconsciously wriggled on the soft bed, and even though she tried hard to restrain herself, a couple of shameful sounds couldn't help but escape from her tightly closed lips.

In the chaos, it seemed like someone entered. She heard the sound of the door clicking shut.

Winona tried hard to hide herself under the covers, not wanting to be discovered. But the person who entered went straight for her and pulled her face, which was already buried in half, out of the bedding. "Winona?"

Her consciousness, affected by the drugs, was muddled, causing her vision to blur. The only thing she could distinguish was that the person was calling her name.

Do they know each other?

The person's hand was placed on her forehead, and the comfortable warmth made Winona immediately lean into it. Her hand unconsciously wrapped around the person's neck, but the fear and disgust welling up in her heart were so evident. Her body trembled, torn between physical and mental extremes. "I don't care who sent you, or if you just got the wrong room, but if you dare to touch me, I will kill you tomorrow."

Her voice was mixed with the hoarse sound of being ravaged by desire, yet cold as ice.

But Winona didn't realize that such extreme contrast was more likely to stimulate a man's desire to conquer.

"Winona, I'm Matthew."

In the lobby, Matthew rejected Fiona's proposal and left directly, taking the pill with him.

He didn't consider himself a gentleman, but he certainly wasn't the kind of person who would drug a woman and take advantage of her in a vulnerable state.

However, shortly after leaving, he turned back. Fiona didn't manage to persuade him, and he couldn't guarantee that she wouldn't try something with someone else, so he didn't trust leaving Winona at the Night Club.

Little did he know that trouble had already occurred in such a short time span.
Matthew helped her up and Winona's tense body relaxed as she heard the name, finally collapsing into his arms. Fear swept over her like endless waves, and she weakly gripped his clothes. "Matthew, I was drugged, take me to the hospital."

"..." Matthew supported her, the woman in his arms had a beautiful face, her eyes and cheeks flushed with an unusual color. Most importantly, she was the woman he loved.

He was a normal man and in this situation, it was impossible to have no reaction. "Winona, if you're in pain, I can help you. I will take responsibility. Let's get married tomorrow, okay?"

Winona shook her head. The hand that had been grasping his clothes in trust now resisted. "Don't touch me."

"What about Zachary? Do you want him?"

Winona continued to shake her head, seeming resistant to the idea. Even though her body was weak and she had no strength, she kept moving backward.

Matthew stood up and bent down to pick up Winona. "Endure it, it'll be okay."

Ignoring Winona's resistance, he carried her to the bathroom and placed her in the bathtub.

It was still cold in March, and the cold water poured down from above, instantly freezing Winona and making her more alert. She looked at the man in front of her dressed in white and black. "Matthew?"

The bathtub became slippery after adding water, and even normal people would find it difficult to sit comfortably, let alone Winona, who was dizzy and weak. After helping her in twice, Matthew didn't hesitate to sit in the bathtub filled with cold water as well. He held her in his arms the whole time, maintaining a gentleman's demeanor. "Endure it for a while, the effects of the drug will wear off."

Winona leaned against his chest, closed her eyes, and weakly nodded. "Okay."

"Bang!"

The glass door of the bathroom was violently pushed open, causing the surrounding glass to make a terrifying cracking sound. Zachary, his face covered in frost stood at the doorway, looking at the two people huddled together in the bathtub in an intimate position...
