Chapter 240 I Want to Have Multiple Partners
Zachary turned to look at Winona, only to see her roll her eyes at him and lie down with her back to him.
Fiona was already seated, ready to shed tears if Zachary asked her, "What's wrong?" However, Zachary's gaze didn't even glance her way, not even noticing her tiredness hidden by makeup, probably unaware if she was even dressed.
"Zachary." she couldn't help raising her voice.
In the past, she would have definitely turned and left, waiting for Zachary to come and coax her.
But during this period, she had thought a lot about their past. Zachary was only willing to indulge her when Winona was around, and he wasn't really coaxing her; he was merely acquiescing to her requests, which were easily fulfilled with a little money.
Her only regret now was that she had forced him to marry her and tested whether Zachary had feelings for her by fleeing abroad.
Thinking of her purpose for coming today, Fiona lowered her voice again "I have something to discuss with you. Can we take a walk in the garden downstairs?"
Fiona had recently endured some hardship. Initially aspiring to enter the entertainment industry, she found herself held back by unrevealed scandals, preventing her from taking even the initial steps. Her resume was rejected without hesitation, and the chance of auditioning was even more out of reach. Some even had the audacity to suggest that she use her body to gain resources tied to low-grade web series scripts, manifesting as roles destined for obscurity.
Fiona wanted to return to the dance circle, but her negative attitude during that period had rendered her overseas reputation useless. As she had offended Zachary, she couldn't even secure a performance venue, let alone investments. The dance troupe had also disbanded because of her.
Upon seeing those scandals, her mother, who had been resentful toward her, decided to cut ties with Fiona directly.
Zachary had blocked her number, and she had been stopped from entering the Bailey Group. She had to hire a powerful journalist to find out that Zachary was here.
Zachary frowned, retracting his gaze. "Just say it here."
Fiona glanced at Winona, then at Austin and Matthew, who were gradually appearing in the ward. Her pale face blushed. "Here? With so many people around?"
"Yes."
To avoid the appearance of blatant dismissal, Zachary prefered not to abruptly shun Fiona. However, he displayed a clear reluctance to spare even a moment for her trivial remarks.
Fiona easily understood the man's intentions. Tears streamed down. She raised her chin, laughing self-deprecatingly. "Is it too late to worry about her misunderstanding now? You were good to me in front of her. Can she forget about it? Or can you dig up these things from her mind?"
The expected anger did not surface. Zachary looked at Fiona coldly, his brows showing considerable impatience and annoyance. "Are you done? Then just leave."
This was the first time Zachary had been so impolite to her. Fiona felt not only humiliated but also fearful. Biting her lip, she said, "Don't forget, my father..."
Zachary's voice softened. "I'm sorry."
Fiona felt a glimmer of hope, thinking she could turn the situation around with his guilt. But then Zachary continued, "I made a mistake in judging someone, but over these years, my compensations should be sufficient. We had agreed before that I would suppress the negative news online for you, and we would be even."
To be honest Fiona bore more responsibility herself. If she had just made a phone call to her parents instead of shutting off her phone, her dad wouldn't have gotten into trouble.
Fiona's face changed slightly.
Zachary had just finished surgery at the time, still under anesthesia and in a semi-conscious state. When he grabbed Fiona, he did indeed call out Winona's name, and how much strength could a patient who had just undergone surgery have? She could have easily broken free. The idea of him holding her back was just a desperate excuse she came up with later.
If he didn't love her, Fiona could made him feel guilty for a lifetime, but she never expected that even this couldn't make him propose to her.
However, Fiona never expected that he actually knew the truth. He was deceiving her.
"Zachary, everyone in the circle now misunderstands that I offended you, causing trouble for me openly and secretly. I can't even book a venue for performances. Can you release a statement or explain it to those people in the circle?"
"It's not a misunderstanding."
Fiona opened her mouth, but the words got stuck in her throat. It took her a while to find her voice and say, "If I did something wrong, I apologize to you."
"The person you should apologize to isn't me." Zachary gestured towards Winona. "the victim is over there."
Fiona turned abruptly to look at Winona, but Winona didn't look at her. Winona was preparing to go to the restroom to get into the new clothes some man had bought her. "Zachary, even if you 've fallen out of love with me, you shouldn't humiliate me like this."
Fiona couldn't apologize to Winona.
Winona was already annoyed at being brought up for no reason, and upon hearing Fiona's words, she immediately got angry, glaring back at Zachary. "Can you two keep your love-hate drama away from me? "
"Whose love-hate drama are you talking about?" Zachary's eyes bore a strong sense of coercion as he looked at her.
Fiona's voice almost overlapped with his. "Winona, you let so many men do things for you, and yet you cling to Zachary and refuse to let go. Don't you find this behavior shameful? You shouldn't have led them on."
Winona turned around, arms crossed. "You're wrong."
"You know they like you, yet you don't reject them; isn't that shameless?"
"I mean,," Winona said slowly, "not only did I not reject them, I also made a promise to them. I want to have multiple lovers at the same time. What's wrong with that? There are still three thousand male models behind. I plan to change one every day, fresh faces every day."
Winona looked at Fiona, who was driven mad. "Are you jealous? Well, after all, the only ones who want to sleep with you now are old men who want to trade goods for goods."
Zachary's expression was even worse than Fiona's, his voice slow, "You want to have multiple partners?"
