Chapter 670 What Exactly Happened to Him

Samuel stepped out of the car and called out, "Alton."

Alton used to be the vice chairman of the Bailey Group and had a close relationship with Evander. When Samuel was a kid visiting the Bailey family, he often ran into Alton, so they had a long-standing acquaintance.

He didn't get too close because the person in the car hadn't come out yet. Approaching blindly could be dangerous.

The car window rolled down, and Alton stuck his head out. His gaze swept over the police cars at the back, showing no signs of panic or anger despite being cornered. He even greeted Samuel warmly, "Samuel."

"I'm here to take Lydia back to the hospital."

"Lydia said she wants to go abroad with me. Since we ran into you here, could you tell Evander thank you for taking care of Lydia all these years? I'm very grateful."

Samuel checked the time and frowned impatiently. This guy was so long-winded and annoying. He still had to get back to make breakfast for Julia. He waved his hand and ordered his men, "Get Mrs. Bailey out of the car."

Following his orders, someone approached the car and peeked through the half-open window, seeing Lydia lying on the seat in pain. "Mr. Anderson, Mrs. Bailey doesn't look well. It seems like she's having a heart attack."

Samuel's expression turned serious. He couldn't worry about the danger now. He quickly walked over, "Get her out immediately."

Alton said, "She won't go with you."

He turned to Lydia, "Isn't that right, Lydia?"

Lydia remained silent. She was in so much pain that she couldn't speak, her lips turning a faint purple.

"Why aren't you saying anything? Do you still want to see Zachary and the others? I heard you really like Winona. The place they're in now was carefully chosen by me over several months. No one can find them."

Samuel handed his phone through the window, "Sorry to interrupt, but someone wants to say a few words to you."

Alton took the phone and glanced at the screen. His face darkened immediately. The video call showed Zachary, the person he claimed no one could find, in a moving car.

"Zachary?" After a brief moment of shock, Alton put on a kind, elder-like demeanor, "Long time no see."

With the police around, he couldn't ask how Samuel had found them, even though he was curious.

Seeing someone who was declared dead twenty years ago now alive on the other end of the call, Zachary wasn't surprised. He just sighed in relief, knowing things were finally coming to an end.

He said, "No need to rush. We'll see each other soon."

While Alton was distracted by the video call, Lydia struggled to open the door. Samuel quickly helped her out and gave her a heart pill, "Lydia, Zachary and the others are safe now. Try to calm down, don't worry."

Lydia nodded weakly, "Thank you again, Samuel."

"It's my duty."

On the other end of the call, Zachary wasn't as calm and composed as he appeared. Once the video ended, he couldn't hold on any longer. The intense pain made him groan and collapse onto the seat.

"Zachary!" Winona quickly supported him. His head had started hurting before he was rescued. This time, he was tied up and couldn't avoid it. The sudden and severe pain made him curl up and groan in agony.

Seeing him in such pain, Winona finally understood how much he had been enduring every time she thought something was wrong with him.

Winona cradled Zachary's head on her lap, massaging his forehead, and anxiously asked the driver, "Austin, can you drive faster?"

Austin and Matthew had come to rescue them. When they found them in that rundown warehouse, it felt surreal. Matthew stayed behind to handle things, while Austin drove them to the hospital.

Winona had many questions about how they found them so quickly in such a remote place, but now wasn't the time to ask.

Austin glanced back at Zachary, frowning, "What's wrong with him? Is he going through withdrawal?"

He had once been on a mission to capture drug dealers, and Zachary's current state looked similar to those addicts, so he asked seriously.

Winona replied, "No, it's just a headache."

Austin gave him a long look, skeptical. They'd find out at the hospital.

As they neared the hospital, Winona called Richard, "What's wrong with Zachary's health?"

Zachary was now in so much pain he was semi-conscious. She couldn't get any answers from him. She had previously tried to investigate his medical records but found nothing. She couldn't tell the doctors she knew nothing, so she called Richard.

Richard hesitated, unsure if he should tell her.

Winona pressed, "He's in so much pain he's passed out. We're on the way to the hospital. If you don't tell me the truth and it delays his treatment, will you take responsibility?"

"It's a neurological issue. I'll send you Mr. Bailey's symptoms," Richard said, getting out of bed. "Mrs. Bailey, which hospital is he being taken to? I'll come over and explain in person."

As soon as they arrived at the hospital, Zachary was rushed into the emergency room.

Winona, still in her formal and elegant dress, stood out in the hospital. After rolling around in the warehouse, she was covered in dust, drawing even more attention.

People kept glancing at her, making Winona uncomfortable. She rubbed her arms. It was almost July, but the hospital corridor felt too cold.

Austin asked, "Are you cold?"

Winona shook her head, "Not cold, just uncomfortable standing here dressed like this."

She pointed to her strapless gown.

Austin thought it was fine. People wore strapless dresses and crop tops everywhere, but he noticed many people staring. "Wait here a moment."
