Chapter 659 Dizziness

The two men exchanged a quick glance. Zachary nodded, "Thanks."

He crouched down to check on Lydia, "Mom, how are you feeling now?"

After taking the medication, Lydia's condition had improved a bit. She grabbed Zachary's hand and pointed in the direction where the man had disappeared, "Alton, just now."

Evander, worried that her agitation might cause her heart trouble again, interrupted, "Lydia, Alton is dead. He died over twenty years ago. The police confirmed it with DNA tests."

"It was him. I wouldn't mistake him. That man just now was definitely Alton."

She couldn't understand why, after twenty years, he would reappear in Dreamopolis, in front of her, but she was certain he wasn't there with good intentions.

He was a psychopath, and psychopaths don't have good intentions.

Seeing Lydia's agitation rising again, Zachary quickly held her hand to calm her, "Alright, I'll look into it. I'll have someone check the surveillance footage. Whether it's Alton or not, I'll bring him to you. Don't get worked up."

He stood up and went aside to make a phone call.

The ambulance arrived quickly. Evander accompanied Lydia into the vehicle, while Zachary and Winona followed in their car. The crowd that had gathered soon dispersed.

Michael and his friends hadn't left yet. Someone noticed him staring in the direction Winona had gone and teased, "What's up with you, Michael? She's gone, and you still can't take your eyes off her."

"Is she the woman you're after? Can you handle someone like her?"

Michael scoffed, unconcerned, "From eighty to eight, there's no woman I can't handle. Give me two months, and I'll have her in my bed."

"What's going on? Michael's got a new target? Got tired of the last one already?"

Someone nearby explained the situation, and the group jeered. However, someone recognized Zachary and cautioned, "The man with her is Zachary, CEO of the Bailey Group. Michael, you might want to reconsider. You could get into serious trouble."

Michael, spoiled and backed by a powerful family, had always been able to get away with anything. His parents, grandparents, and extended family always bailed him out, making him feel invincible.

He shrugged, bored, "Who knows, maybe he'll be so eager to please my family that he'll send her to my bed himself."

Such things had happened before. Those self-proclaimed wealthy people, treated like VIPs everywhere, would still grovel in front of him like obedient dogs.

"Cool!"

At the hospital.

When Zachary and Winona arrived, Lydia had already been taken to the emergency room.

Evander stood at the door, his brow furrowed, "Any news?"

"Not yet. The person was well-prepared, knew all the blind spots and broken cameras. It'll take time to sort through everything."

Evander unconsciously rubbed his fingers, a habit he had when he craved a cigarette. "If it really is him, what do you think he wants?"

After being gone for over twenty years, he would be of retirement age. Could he still be after control of the company?

Zachary glanced at the busy scene in the emergency room, not speaking. He had a headache but couldn't show it. Just holding it together took all his energy, leaving no room to ponder the motives behind this.

Winona noticed him leaning against the wall with his eyes half-closed since they arrived and asked, "You okay?"

He admitted it readily and, as Winona frowned and was about to ask more, he pulled her into a hug. "Just a bit tired. Lots of meetings and social events today. Hold me for a bit, and I'll feel better."

His chin rested on her shoulder, and he let most of his weight fall on her. Winona almost couldn't support him, but Zachary quickly pulled back.

He pinched her waist, "You're too skinny. You need to eat more."

Evander covered his eyes with his hand.

Half an hour later, Lydia was wheeled out of the emergency room and into a regular room.

"The patient is stable now. She just needs to stay overnight for observation and avoid any more stress. Family members, please take note."

As Lydia was settled into her room, Richard arrived, greeting Evander and Winona before addressing Zachary, "Mr. Bailey."

Zachary followed him out of the room. At the door, he suddenly stumbled, his body sagging.

Winona, standing by the bed, saw this and her heart leapt, "Zachary!"

He grabbed the door frame, barely steadying himself.

Richard, supporting him, looked equally alarmed, "Mr. Bailey."

Zachary straightened up and smiled at Winona, who was running towards him. "I'm fine. Just tripped. Been too busy lately, not sleeping well."

The scene before him was still blurry, including Winona's face, until she reached him, and the dizziness slowly faded. Her worried expression came into sharp focus.

He chuckled softly, pinching her cheek, "Run slower. If you fall, there's no door frame to catch you."

Winona looked up, scrutinizing him. "Are you really okay?"

She knew Zachary had been overworked and sleep-deprived, which could cause dizziness. But linking Zachary with frailty felt off.

Still, it made sense. No matter how capable he seemed, he wasn't superhuman. He could get tired and sick like anyone else.

Winona's face darkened. "No more late nights. Bed by ten."

She turned to Richard, bypassing Zachary to give orders. "Cancel all his appointments after six. From now on, this is the rule. Any exceptions need approval."

She now appreciated the ten o'clock curfew Julia had set for Samuel.

Richard looked at her, hesitant to speak.
