Chapter 87 It turns out to be a deliberate temptation.
Layla wanted to resist a bit longer, but the thought of submitting to Winona in front of her made her feel extremely dissatisfied. The woman beside her, who worked as a waitress, spoke up first.
"I'll talk, I'll talk! Miss Sullivan..." She stood up and tried to approach Winona, but the bodyguard pushed her back to her original position.
"Back then, I foolishly sent the audio to my friend, and then..." She pointed fiercely at Layla, "and then she found me and forced me to sell her the surveillance video from the private room. She claimed to be your sister, and that video seriously damaged your reputation. I believed her since she didn't seem like she was lying, and that's why I agreed to sell it to her. But I didn't expect her to be so malicious and leak it to the media!'
Though partly true, Layla didn't refute her. She looked up with arrogance in her eyes and said to Winona, 'So what if I gave it to the media? Winona, aren't those things true? The audios I exposed were just the tip of the iceberg. If it weren't for me leaking your photos with Mr. Bailey, how could someone of your status marry him?'
Within three seconds of her audio leak, the photos of Winona and Zachary leaving the hotel went viral.
Layla sneered, "You want to marry Mr. Watson while also sleeping with Mr. Bailey. Such a slut."
Winona approached her and asked, "You leaked the audio to the media?"
"Yes."
"You also took the photo of me and Zachary leaving the hotel?"
Winona remembered that night at the hotel... Carlos had already taken Layla and her mother out of the country, so how did Layla take the photo?
Layla admitted without changing her expression, "Yes."
Winona nodded slightly and slapped Layla hard in the next second!
She exerted her full strength in this slap, completely stunning Layla. Her ears buzzed, and she saw stars in her eyes. It took her more than ten seconds to react. She rushed forward like a shrew, saying, "Winona, how dare you hit me!"
But before she could reach Winona, the bodyguard caught her hands.
Layla glared viciously at her, hating her, wanting to tear her flesh and drink her blood!
Winona sneered, "Don't you deserve it?"
She stared at her red palm, wiping it off disgustedly on Zachary's body. "You made my hand dirty."
By repulsing both of them at once, Winona's suppressed anger had somewhat eased. She snorted at Zachary and turned to leave.
As they got on the car, Zachary looked at her and asked calmly, "That's it?"
"You think it's over? Shouldn't I kill her?"
It couldn't end like this, but given Layla's thick-skinned nature, if she had to rely on hitting her to vent her anger, it would be a case of cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.
Zachary's gaze fell on the woman's red palm. "Does your hand hurt?"
Winona pulled her hand back as if receiving an electric shock. This guy must have some bad idea in mind to tease her. Otherwise, why would he suddenly ask about her hand? It couldn't be that he miraculously discovered his conscience and cared for her, right?
"What do you want?" she asked.
Zachary glanced at her disdainfully. "Afraid you'll blackmail me."
This guy's words were truly infuriating!
Zachary took Winona back to her apartment. She was still thinking about how to stop him from following her upstairs when she heard the man's impatient voice, "Aren't you getting off at your place? Do you want me to accompany you to your room? Winona, you really like to play hard to get."
With anger in her heart, Winona unbuckled her seatbelt and grabbed a pillow, smashing it into his face. "You Bastard! Don't make your ridiculous dreams my problem. You are the worst!"
Zachary didn't expect her to suddenly act out with such aggression and was unprepared when the pillow hit him directly in the face. He gritted his teeth. "Winona, you..."
Before he could finish speaking, the car door slammed shut with a bang.
Winona left without any regret, walking so fast it was as if she was being chased by a dog!
The next day, the news of Zachary protecting Fiona had spread. Everyone in the private room knew that Miss Clark was someone not to be messed with. The news soon reached Lydia's ears.
Later that afternoon, Winona received a call from Lydia, asking her and Zachary to join her for dinner at Crest Manor.
Before Winona was able to find a suitable excuse to decline the invitation, Lydia had already made the final decision and stated; "It's settled. I'll have the servants cook your favorite dishes. Zachary will come to pick you up later."
"Mom, there's no need..."
Winona could go make her own way there.
She didn't have the time to refuse. The call was ended leaving no room for refusal.
Unable to escape, Winona decided to drive herself there. Her car had been parked at the Manor for a few days.
She had just grabbed the keys and was about to leave her apartment when Zachary's call came in, "Come downstairs."
Winona thought to herself: How annoying!
She saw the black Bentley parked by the roadside, the window half lowered, revealing Zachary's sharp profile. "Get in the car."
"No, I'll drive to Crest Manor myself."
"My mom asked me to pick you up," Zachary's gaze fell on the car keys she was holding tightly, as he asked meaningfully, "Do you still have money to buy a car?"
Winona frowned in response.
By this time Zachary had lost his patience and without another word; he got out of the car and pulled her hand, proceeding to effectively stuffing her into the car.
Not a word was spoken as he started the car and drove towards Crest Manor.
Zachary looked straight ahead and said softly, "I think it's about last night; if she asks, you should know what to say."
Winona sneered. No wonder he was so eager to come and pick her up. Turns out he needed her help with something.
She looked at Zachary, the contours of his profile smooth, his Adam's apple prominent, her gaze lowered to the collar of his shirt, suppressing her desire at the sexiness she was witness to.
Winona had always known that Zachary was good-looking, the kind of good-looking that would always stand out even in the entertainment industry full of handsome men. More than just good-looking, he was also devoted, a definite bonus point.
But unfortunately, this amazing man wasn't interested in her.
Winona casually replied, "Don't worry, I won't say a bad word about Fiona in front of my mom."
All she wanted now was a divorce. To break him and Fiona up would be madness; with Zachary's vengeful nature, she had no doubt that he would make her life miserable.
It would be better to let this bitchy couple be together and just walk away so that she would not have to be involved anymore!
The man turned his head and looked at her, his gaze cold, emitting an icy chill that seemed capable of freezing her to death.
Sensing Zachary's gaze, Winona thought he didn't believe her, so she raised her hand and swore, "I promise, I will definitely praise Miss Clark in front of my mother, and let her bless you both, making your love a success."
Once Zachary and Fiona were together, divorcing would be a piece of cake, wouldn't it?
The more she thought about it, the more feasible this plan seemed. So, Winona became very concerned and inquired, "By the way, why doesn't my mom approve of you and Fiona being together?"
