Chapter 506 Touched the Wrong Place

Rebecca thought to herself, "Whether he drinks or not is none of my damn business. Don't drag me into it."

Even though she felt this way, Rebecca knew she was just there to make an appearance. No matter how much they teased her, she always kept a gentle smile and spoke softly. When the music got louder, you could barely hear what she was saying.

Someone commented, "Anthony, your girlfriend is really gentle."

Anthony glanced at Rebecca and said, "She's not my girlfriend yet. I'm still working on it." This comment sparked jealousy among some of Anthony's former female classmates who had pursued him before. One woman said, "Today, the class president said we had to bring our partners. You haven't even caught up with her and brought her along. Are you trying to take advantage of the situation to win her over? If I had known you liked such soft-spoken women, I would have toned down my voice when I was chasing you."

Taking advantage of the dim lighting, Rebecca couldn't help but roll her eyes.

Anthony frowned slightly, his voice cold and firm. "You're a lawyer. You should know that spreading rumors and damaging someone's reputation is illegal."

Rebecca couldn't help but give him a thumbs up in her mind. As expected of Anthony, always ready to send someone to jail. It seemed he wasn't just like this with Rebecca, but with everyone. Rebecca felt much more at ease inside.

The woman was so angry she couldn't speak, glaring at Rebecca before turning away with a huff.

Rebecca propped her chin and sighed, "I'm really being wronged here."

Anthony casually replied, "If you feel wronged, just curse back. Isn't that what you're best at?"

Many people came over to chat, mostly asking about work. With Anthony's current influence, getting his advice could be a big boost for their careers. There were so many old classmates vying for his attention, it was tough for him to turn them down. Before long, he was too busy to pay Rebecca any mind. However, Rebecca wasn't the shy type; she actually preferred being left to her own devices.

However, while Rebecca wanted some peace, someone else didn't want to let her have it.

The woman who had been insulted earlier came over with a glass of wine. "Miss Davis, right? I toast to you."

Rebecca had always had a good tolerance for alcohol and seemed to handle it well. At least, no one had ever said she did anything crazy when drunk, so she didn't mind drinking. "Sure," she replied.

Yet the woman didn't just toast herself; she got others to join in. After a few glasses, Rebecca started to feel a bit tipsy.

Sometimes, women's friendships form in strange ways. With common topics and the stimulation of alcohol, the woman who had been jealous earlier was now whispering secrets with Rebecca, arm in arm. She asked, "How did you make Mr. Lewis fall for you?"

Rebecca, looking like someone with a lot of experience, said, "Anthony is the kind of man who looks cold on the outside but is passionate inside. If you want to chase him, you can't just talk; you have to show it."

The woman pressed, "Show what?"

Rebecca replied, "Love. If you love him, you have to let him know. Just saying it won't work; you have to show it, like..."

She extended her hand. Her fingers were long and slender, with no nail polish, just a thin layer of clear coat. "Touch him," she said.

The woman was slightly agape, shocked by the answer.

Rebecca, who had been so gentle earlier, was now speaking so boldly.

Rebecca then patted the woman's shoulder boldly and said, "Didn't Anthony have no women around him in college? Wasn't he always alone?"

With each question, the woman nodded, exactly the same.

Rebecca continued, "So, he's thirty years old and still a virgin. He's probably repressed to the point of being a pervert. At this point, all you have to do is light a fire, rush up to him, and touch him all over. He won't be able to resist."

Anthony, who had been chatting with others, saw a crowd around Rebecca and thought she was being bullied. He listened in, and the more he heard, the more serious his expression became, his brows furrowing tighter. He took the glass from Rebecca's hand and set it down on the table. "Stop drinking; you're drunk."The spilled wine splashed on Anthony's hand, but he didn't even flinch.

Rebecca protested, "I'm not drunk. I still want to drink. Give me back my glass..."

Anthony stood up and scooped her out of the booth. "She's drunk. I'm taking her home. You all continue."

"Hey!" Some people nearby tried to stop him, but Anthony was already striding out of the room with Rebecca in his arms, leaving everyone stunned. The men were shocked that the usually aloof Anthony would carry Rebecca in public, while the women were amazed, thinking, 'This woman is fierce! No wonder she could win over Anthony.'

In the brightly lit hallway, Rebecca seemed to sober up a bit. She didn't shout about wanting to drink anymore and quietly stayed in Anthony's arms as he carried her downstairs.

Anthony's voice was icy, the veins on his forehead still throbbing from her earlier words. "Are you sober now?" he asked.

Rebecca remained silent, as if she hadn't fully processed what was happening.

Anthony carried her downstairs, placed her in the passenger seat, and seeing her sitting there dazed, bent down to fasten her seatbelt.

Although he was in formal attire, the room was warm, so he had undone a couple of buttons at his collar. As he bent over, the collar fell open, revealing the clear, muscular contours of his chest, lean and well-defined.

Rebecca exclaimed, "Looks good."

Anthony couldn't be bothered to argue with a drunk person. He didn't even respond, just closed the car door and walked around to the driver's seat.

He knew where Rebecca lived, no need to ask.

After starting the car, just as Anthony put his foot on the gas, a slender, fair hand reached over and landed on his crotch, not just landing but giving a squeeze.

Anthony froze, his mind going blank. He hadn't expected Rebecca to do that. In his shock, he forgot his foot was on the gas, and the car shot forward, crashing into a pillar ahead.

Before the crash, Rebecca's disappointed voice spoke up, "Your abs look great, but they're useless—definitely not hard at all."

So she wanted to touch his abs but missed because she was drunk?

The distance was short, so the car hadn't fully accelerated, resulting in a minor crash. The bumper was broken, the hood was dented, and the right headlight was damaged.

Rebecca, already dizzy, felt even dizzier after the crash. She held her head, leaning against the passenger window, groaning.

Anthony was now filled with anger, not because the car was damaged. He lit a cigarette, and after calming down, he got out of the car. He first checked the car's damage, then went to the passenger side, pulling Rebecca out and showing her the damage. "Look at what you've done."

Rebecca tried to open her eyes wide, looking at the car for a while before suddenly raising her voice to scold, "Your driving skills are terrible!"

Anthony was speechless.

Rebecca's blunder was completely unknown to Winona. Winona had fallen asleep while chatting with her the night before and thought nothing of it when Rebecca didn't return in the morning.

Zachary had already left, and the messy bed on his side showed he had spent the night there.

Winona took the subway to work today. As soon as she got out of the elevator, she sensed something was off. She asked Dylan, "What's going on?"

Dylan replied, "The person who was sabotaging the project has been found. They're in Evander's office now. Evander is serious this time. Not only did he find the evidence, but he also suspended everyone associated with them and plans to call the police."

Winona nodded, not paying much attention.

Since Zachary wasn't dead and had said he wouldn't let the Bailey Group fall into crisis, Winona started to slack off. She never liked the business world anyway. If she wasn't afraid of arousing Timothy's suspicion by quitting suddenly, she would have returned to her old profession immediately.

Her desk was next to Evander's office. As she passed by, she heard some unusual noises coming from inside.
